Amen Somen No shes saying that because Brandy only hires workers that are pretty, white, and skinny. They rarely hire colored people. They only go for typical white models and workers.

i hate how brandy melville has no asian models. yes, they have african american models but they literally have maybe only less than ten of them. heck, maybe even less than five. the ratio of white to colored models is probably 12:1 (just an estimate). i'm not trying to shade summer, i love her. i'm just giving my two cents on brandy melville's choices on color representation in their brand...

angelique I like your point no actually I love your point. I mean I’m not gonna lie here ok, but so many female brands predominantly use white girls (or girls of lighter skin colour) rather than a diverse group of models and it honestly annoys me since I’m Asian myself and I want Asians to be represented more to give little girls or teens -like myself- inspiration and dreams and just to let us know that we’re seen in the industry and that we can achieve anything that a “white” person can.

@@leighkathryn2670 I think it's because most of their customers are from that demographic - white, slim girls between the ages of 12 to 17. So they mostly hire models similar to that demographic as part of their branding. I'm Asian myself and I never shopped at brandy. Neither do all my Asian friends. We prefer Forever21 and Urban and sportswear brands like Champion. Brandy's clothes are too basic and bland for my taste. I think that their clothes fit the style of most white Cali girls though, hence why most of their customers are white girls.
