The Land Rover Range Rover is one of the best luxury SUVs out there, and the top tier Autobiography trim takes the technology and opulence up another level. Having spent time in various ones, I firmly believe that the Range Rover Autobiography is the best luxury SUV in the world. Vehicles like the Bentley Bentayga and Rolls Royce Cullinan may be more luxurious and prestigious, but also cost several times more. There are faster SUVs, better handling SUVs, but none that can beat a top tier Range Rover at being the best possible luxury SUV out there! Check out this ownership video with John and see what its like to own a Range Rover Autobiography!

I purchased a Certified 2014 Autobiography back in 2015. Out of the five SUV's I've owned for the past 20 years my Range Rover is at the top of the list! I've had zero problems with it! It's absolutely the best riding truck I've ever owned!

My 2017 Range Rover HSE gets more looks and stares than any other car I've driven. I love it and it still puts a smile on my face. The crazy part is the ride is this amazing with our diamond cut 22's, I've never driven it with the base wheel option. For anyone looking into a luxury SUV north of 110k, I highly recommend at least test driving the full sized Range Rover and seeing for yourself.

I'm going to consider the full size one when my lease is up in a few years on my 2019 RRS. The is insane on the sport but I could only Imagine what it's like on the full size.

@@futuremdvlog6633 the SVR I think is the best sounding SUV on the market right now, I just wanted the luxury aspects of the autobiography. I ended up tuning my Sport so it's putting out just over 600hp. It doesn't sound as mean as the SVR but I can smoke any stock one that I pull up too 😂

Great video Eddie and John. I love my 2019 RRS Autobiography. Had for almost 3 months and have done 16K miles in it so far. Took it to Moab, got featured on TFL and have just had a blast with it. No major issues, (knock on wood), I've experienced what John was saying about the infotainment system having booting issues, all it takes is a quick restart of the engine with a 5 min break to let the 30+ computers reboot and sync up again. other than that, love my rig!

Eco-boost resets every time you turn the ignition on. The module is inside the passenger-side rear quarter panel and can be disabled easily by removing the control wire though. At least that’s where it is on the model year 19 L405abSWB. I think between model years 13 and 17 it was in front of the glove box and was actually just a smaller 12 V battery. Of course that doesn’t apply to any hybrid models. I think if you are disabling it and it’s restarting that means it hasn’t regenerated/stored enough reserve to maintain whatever demand. I’m sure people get used to driving with it and have heard it makes a real difference in fuel economy, but on the way home with it that tenth of a second delay felt like hesitation when punching it from a stop sign and scared me such that I had it taken apart pinpointed and disabled before the next morning. I’m also in Texas where it’s hot and wouldn’t be down with my car randomly rationing air conditioning to me in rush hour gridlock, so didn’t mess around. Cargo area sidewall panel behind the passenger-side rear seat. I took photos. So let me know if someone needs that. I like his black headliner and agree with him about the leather steering wheel. I hate my wood steering wheel and would have built it with the downgrade as well. The headliner material (at least in some of them) is called suedecloth and is complete bullshit. I’m not convinced that it’s not synthetic (at least from mine) but the problem I would have with deliberately specifying it is I think it’s about a $3000 option even if all you’re going to see when you look up there is panoramic roof shade. If they don’t offer pixel laser headlights on the new model (2022) in North America I’m done with them. It was $8000 to get pixel LED headlights from the European distributor and put that in. For some reason Land Rover only offers their entry-level LED headlights in North America, but Audi Mercedes BMW everyone else I can think of sells them here, so Land Rover has lied to say it’s a DOT approval issue. They are so disappointingly shysty. The previous two I bought required me to sign some sort of affidavits that I would not export them. They weren’t even new (demo and a service loaner)! So they were artificially inflating somewhere. For all goods in all markets buyers not sellers determine prices…. at least all markets where competition is unhindered. I’ve been very brand loyal but in my market one company owns all the dealerships and that isn’t something that a manufacturer just overlooks. That’s something a manufacturer supports or it simply doesn’t happen, and the problem it creates is you can’t fucking negotiate since essentially there’s one dealer. I tried twice before buying the last (current) one I did off the lot to build the one I wanted and they could not be bothered with me even though I’ve been buying from them for years. “Sonic Automotive” began buying the Land Rover dealerships in Houston something like 15 years ago and they’ve had them all for a good while now. Think that’s five dealerships. Something people might not consider about the dealership business is that typically the bread and butter is parts sales due to the natural market-constraint restricting parts distribution to only authorized dealers creates. So artificial scarcity and protected pricing are well-known manufacturer-sanctioned “management styles” in the dealership industry, which includes farm equipment, construction equipment, aircraft, industrial equipment, hospital equipment, other institutional equipment, I would think restaurant equipment and maybe factory equipment…it probably goes on ad infinitum. Just saying it’s pretty obvious existing operations have probably sparked that idea elsewhere before, though I can’t think of anywhere I’ve ever seen or heard of it and would otherwise assume (and would think everyone else including dealers would assume) fair trade practice regulations prohibit. I don’t have any clue why our state AG doesn’t take a look at it, I guess he doesn’t drive a Land Rover LOL. Or maybe does and wouldn’t have a clue why the rest of us have problems with pricing or service based on how particularly well JLR ensures his experience of both goes. They could do that through an Austin dealership and he would never catch on. I’m speculating wildly, but they KNOW what’s up in Houston and they’re undoubtedly giving better-than-wholesale parts (and vehicle) pricing to these guys for it. Last time I was in the service department (1500 mile new vehicle fluid swap I think, though I don’t really even remember what it was for as I usually buy demos and buying new was going to be a treat I was resorting to because they don’t let you save enough buying demos anymore with their artificial shenanigans, until they made it less so by cockblocking my build attempts that were the only sensible justification/consolation to even buy new) I overheard my service advisor tell a customer trying to hold him accountable for being a disservice advisor “I’m not worried about it I’ve got plenty of clienteles”. Another problem dealership monopolies create, that.🙄 Your friend driving is also right about leasing making no sense -unless it’s the outgoing body style which they traditionally will lease in a base trim for depreciation only (so that means if somehow there was no pandemic effect you should be able to find a 2021L405 for about 1000 a month right now). It’ll be the six cylinder base model which to me is range rover blasphemy, but the sport’s been blaspheming too since around 2013 without a split tailgate anymore. There’s a horizontal trim strip across the rear that keeps the look, but it’s a hatchback. I like to load and unload without having to open the garage and pull forward any and wasn’t sure that hatchback business would work, but also I’m a purist to some degree so also miss the analog clocks (they’d been digitally-controlled forever, not low tech) in the center of the rover dash and even the window controls being on the center consoles in all the European cars. That disappeared in the 90s though I think maybe some of the exotics still do it. It’s hard for me to believe they really needed to move them to keep aspirational buyers-because arriving at the point of readiness to leave American or Japanese vehicles behind they were likely going to still only consider some other European car and would have found the same quirk-which I think they’d have eventually come to appreciate. It would be like Porsche moving their ignitions to the right, which for all I know they may have done recently. But those particular few places I think the range rover has been homogenized into unnecessary blandness and somewhat cheapened by overdoing the touchscreens and not creating tactile divets in the dynamic softkeys they should have at least made usefully ergonomic and implemented more of. For 20 years we’ve been agreeing that looking away to mess with smart phones causes accidents and they’ve given us cars now that are controlled by big smart phone tablets that you have to look at to do even your basic shit with. It’s designers pandering to the tastes of people probably too young to afford a vehicle I doubt even appeals to them anyway. Touchscreens make it look sleek and uncluttered but it was three months before I could even put the audio back where I intended it to be if I inadvertently changed it before reaching my destination. Learning their proprietary menu structure is a pain in the ass that they are beyond arrogant to inflict upon people dropping 150 grand with them. Sport was blasphemy when it came out too (I had around a 2000 year model range rover at the time and remember calling it the Lady Rover… until I saw the price of the new big daddy and testdrove the Sport). And except for the tailgate (especially after they fixed the rear seat headrests and the horn buttons which were the only two problems with them) I’m still a believer, because the truth is that vehicle drives better, is sexier, and is easier to park. If you’re a person who drives yourself not only is it more enjoyable but these crazyass pimpluxe backseats are just..... I mean I would love to be the person who’d sit back there and enjoy them but I’m not. So no rear seat entertainment business either which seems like it should be reserved for the long wheelbase models… “Front passenger seat away” is a very cool feature (if you’re that guy), and I’m sure that makes the little headrest monitors no longer practical, but the bigger ones on the hooks are just odd-looking (to someone without kids). I don’t have a driver and I’m neither a realtor nor a lawyer either, so it’s never anyone though. The additional (rear) air conditioning unit of the big full fat MOS DEF helps cool the front quicker however. I know it’s wasteful and not green at all of me but I’ve had the car a year and a half and it doesn’t even have 5000 miles on it, so maybe I’m not quite first in line to be scolded. A ‘21 bootyga speed (if there’s a demo to be found) almost certainly will be a better choice than the 2022 SVADynamic just by virtue of being among the last 12 piston trucks ever built, but also no more G65 and I’m not feeling the GLS 600 although it may be every bit as capable of going over parking blocks and spontaneously creating exit ramps as the rover and G wagen. I have that concern about Bootyga as well, so waiting to see (L460 I think it’s designated) this upcoming fifth generation Rover. Wish they’d sourced that V 12 or W 12 Volkswagen puts in the Bentleys for the SV coupe and not scrapped it. It would be awesome (and still too soon) to never again have anything to do with Land Rover or sociopathic JLR dealers. Did I mention that I fucking hate them (and why)?

@@mobst4r1 IMO only fools, enthusiasts or people who don't have to work flush money down the toilet buying an expensive unreliable vehicle that depreciates like a stone. I've known a few people who have bought or leased Range Rovers over the years - they have either hated them and returned them and avowed never to touch another one again, or they have seemingly gone a bit mental and become convinced they are the best vehicle on the planet and ignore the fact that several times a year they need to go into the dealership to have a litany of faults fixed - often the dealership are unable to fix some issues and they end up just having to live with it. Personally my time is my money and my money is my time, so no matter how much I have, I'm prudent with it.
