Hi there. Thank you all for watching our video. To help out, all the details are in the video description. The zipline is located in Wales at a place called ZipWorld. All the official speed and length stats are on their website. While our little video gives you an idea of what it may be like, to actually *feel* the rush, the wind, the adrenaline and see the height is another level. You must try it to truly experience how quick it really is. Trust me, you will scream doing it too! Have fun!

I'm 59 now, and went on this about 3 years ago. I did it because I'm really scared of heights. If anything it all felt a lot tamer than I had imagined, but was still awesome. The feeling of having stopped over the water was the most terrifying thing about it: the fear of being stuck up there for ages while they rescue you. At 500 feet above the water your forward motion is almost undetectable apart from the roaring wind.
@Skank_and_Gutterboy2 жыл бұрын
That's the part I was wondering about. From the video, it looks like you get "into the float" over the water, and then things appear to accelerate again as you get down closer to the ground. That's got to be an interesting effect and I would also be scared of getting hung up and sitting up there for a long time as they rescue you.
@justsomebloke67842 жыл бұрын
@@Skank_and_Gutterboy Yeah, your pespective gets all messed up by the distances involved. It is very disorientating to feel solid 100mph air hitting your head with no sense of motion. I'm glad I did it.

The impressive part is when you are closer to the ground I think, because you have the feeling of speed... and danger of collision, up over the water seem a little less impressive.
@jackfrost21462 жыл бұрын
It's the same illusion created when flying at altitude. You appear to be almost stopped, in spite of the fierce wind in your face, but coming in to land, everything starts to accelerate sometimes at an alarming rate! You are not alone with this illusion.

Hi Peter, you start at the bottom. This is where the base is, and car park etc. You do a secondary zipline lower down as a practice, then you are driven up to the top for the big run you seen in this video. Lol I remember when I used to think that when you went on a zip line, at the end you would just get flung off and come to a really fast stop, like a kids seat zip line where it doesn’t slow down it just flings you into the end

observation: Zip Lines seem to appeal to people who aren't into real extreme stuff. They don't seem to normally hike camp or any advanced risky outdoor stuff. But they'll pay $100 on vacation to zip line. You know to do something real outdoorsy people take for granted. They probably drive Subaru's but stock up on groceries just before a 3" snow not daring to go out.

Looks amazing, I’m not afraid of heights but I don’t like the stomach drop feeling you get on rollercoasters. Do you get that on this zip line?
@ThomasHarrisonLord4 жыл бұрын
I'm the same Aneela, and I can say that you do not get the stomach drop feeling at all! It's a gradual descent in terms of angle, but not speed!

Much safer than what? It would take a month to get there then ya probably can’t go all the way down with the change in pressures without getting fucked. I suppose it would help to shoot stranded climbers down a ways but if it isn’t where they are stranded it’s useless, no one really gets stranded at the summit.

@93BlazinFire7 жыл бұрын
Yes, several live human test runs per day.
@SuperSiggiboy7 жыл бұрын
Roller coasters do unmanned runs every morning before they let customers on, I would presume that these guys could test the line by sending down some sandbags instead of a human. They could also manually check the line for wear by lowering them down the line with some brakes on, but I don't think that they would do that very often
@mcearl80737 жыл бұрын
I’m sure there are cable tension tests performed but I don’t think I’d trust it, I don’t trust roller coasters either though.

You unhook from the cable the red system with the wheels and you drive everything back to the start.
