@@subboxjunkie8298 anyone can work at ulta, and its ok if your not a makeup artist, when your positioned as beauty advisor your mainly just going to be organizing products and helping customers that need to find they’re shade, or need help finding whatever they’re looking for but I say it is advised that you have some sort of knowledge or experience with certain brands just so its easier to help them out but No, you don’t need to be Top expert in fact you’ll keep learning more about makeup and skincare working at ulta so don’t worry💕

@@subboxjunkie8298yes anyone could work there. I have experience in retail, but I’ve never worked in a makeup store, I’m not a makeup artist or anything. Seems like you just have to have knowledge and enthusiasm for makeup, skincare, hair. I’m not in the beauty industry and was hired the same day as my interview. I had orientation today.

Is it a requirement as an employee that you HAVE to swatch the testers on yourself for customers? I want to work there but the testers gross me out

It’s encouraged. We had an urban decay person come in and they just grabbed arms and swatched people. Depends on who you work with I think though. Just make sure you sanitize them. If the tester is gross they’re supposed to replace them.
