In Ireland doing "the" hustle seeing casting agents and seeing amazing plays presented by the Dublin Theater Festival. Going for my dream, making my own miracles. Thanks for continuing to inspire, Miss. Mel!

Thank you for taking us along a week of auditioning and being transparent about your experience. I live in NYC and my goal is to see at least one Broadway show (or off Broadway) per month, and I can't wait to see you perform. I started this goal in July when I saw The Wiz, but I already missed August. My September show will be Hell's Kitchen.

Love your vlogs. I’ve been to NYC twice this year (I live in the UK) and each time I thought of you and your stories. I saw Gatsby and loved it - you’d be great! ❤

It’s so funny how you said that Cabaret is one of your dream shows, bc for some reason I saw you and immediately got Sally Bowles vibes. But anyways, thanks for making these types of videos, as someone who wants to be a Broadway actor, it’s so helpful to hear what it’s actually like auditioning in NYC while working a full time job. Keep chasing your dream‼️

3:38 What made you define the combination as masculine? Were the movements sharp and crisp rather than slower, flowing lines?
@melcabeyvlogs3 ай бұрын
It had actual fight choreography, like we were punching the air HAHA! But also just more grounded, we were in sneakers instead of heels, floor work (which is seen as masculine)

Is it worth still getting your Equity Card if you don't have an agent yet? I had planned to get mine in November-December so I can be ready for the audition season in the new year, but if you don't have an agent--does that kinda lessen your chances?

It's honestly such a personal thing. I have two videos that might help you -- one is where I wasn't ready to take my card yet and I explained all the reasons. The other is a few years later when I finally took my card, and I explained why I finally was ready! Ill link them here: When I wasn't ready yet: kzbin.info/www/bejne/baevgoSalq-kf68 When I joined: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5fGqqN-eL2SmqM

What is the writing work that you do? Are you employed by a company? Do you freelance? How did you find the position?, etc.

I explained it a bit in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKiXnn-lq5p4Y6s Thanks!!!

I found it on Indeed originally but then I had a friend who worked for the company and referred me. However, I started by freelancing through a writers facebook group and I built a content writing portfolio slowly for about two years before getting this job

@@melcabeyvlogs Cool. Thank you so much for the info. I watched the KZbin video you listed and subscribed. Does the job fall under the "content writer" category or something else? I am currently looking for a work-from-home day job that I won't hate and your talking about yours caught my ear. Would you mind sharing the Facebook group, if you are allowed to? Also, a separate question... in the video you listed, you said you were taking Zoom voice lessons. How does that work with your neighbors? Has anyone ever complained? Are they understanding? I'm curious because I am interested in doing the same in the future. I regularly take cinematic sessions via Zoom, but that is so much quieter than belting, for example, so I have never really been concerned with anyone hearing me.
