You don’t really need to plan every part of a trip to be a seasoned traveler. In fact being a bit more relaxed towards unexpected things is really a good quality for traveling. Things will go wrong sometimes, as long as you know how to deal with that, you’re going to be fine. They had a way to get to port, who cares there is another way to get there?

Saffron Sinclair we paid for the key because it was cheaper that way, and we each get one device. We also paid our carrier so we could use our phones for calls. It’s not the cheapest but it saved us from other charges

I went on a royal Caribbean cruise once and I legit lost my “card” in Mexico. The cards were legit your way to get on and off the boat. Long story short I freaked out, got passed the first couple security checks (that you NEEDED your card to get through and guess what they didn’t notice) but then the main entrance I told them my name and they pulled it up and let me through. I am so thankful that I wasn’t stuck in Mexico but also dang royal carribean u need to up the security checks before the main one.

Royal Caribbean uses face recognition (both the computer kind and humans) to ID guests coming on and off the ship. When they asked your name and stateroom they pulled up your picture and visually IDed you before allowing you on.

I've been on 12 cruises. I absolutely love them! The reason the pools are so small is to keep crowds on the deck down. I've been on a royal caribbean cruise and this specific cruise 3 times. It's very pretty and very accommodating. As a person who travels with a blind and Autistic child it is amazing. The ability of being able to go anywhere and be able to get food and rest is amazing as well. Just if and when you ever go on a cruise plan to spend money.

You can start locally and cruise if you travel off season is pretty affordable. I took a cruise for my bday after the summer rush. The cruise was $500 and you were allowed to pay it off in multiple payments if needed...get out there and see new things!! Good luck on future travels👍🏽👍🏽

I think you friend might have been a bit claustrophobic we have stayed in every class of cabin from inside to suite and never had that problem. But if you can afford any type of balcony that's better for sure 😉

One thing I would like to add, If you’re doing a cruise on carnival and Royal Caribbean with your teens and you’re thinking about the teen clubs....it’s really underwhelming. There isn’t anything to do while you’re there, the only fun they’ll have is outside of the club. That’s one thing Disney’s cruise line has a leg up on, their teen clubs are absolutely incredible. And actually know what teens want to do....

I was on this ship when she made her transatlantic voyage from Barcelona to Miami. as an avid cruiser, it was super refreshing to just spend 12 days onboard without having to get off at any ports. the ship is enormous, but with the way everything is designed, you really don't feel like you're onboard with ~6,000 other people

I've been on 4 cruise ships and getting around cruise ships can be difficult for people that aren't physically active.....even with elevators on the ship there is a lot of walking around to get from activity to activity to find, or just to find out if what you like has wait times or is actually interesting, or just getting to your room, or to restaurants, or to the pool, or just finding an open bench to layout on. A lot of elevators are pretty busy on the ship, so it's faster and easier to get around using the stairs sometimes at least for the people who are able to. I love it though it reminds me of Europe and how most people walk from place to place and I get a lot of exercise and activity.....agree though it is still a little unprofessional.

I went on Symphony it's first holiday season. Looked forward to it as it made it's journey from where it was built to Miami. Loooooooved that ship! You would think it would be crowded with that many people but honestly it wasn't, because everyone isn't in the same place at the same time. It's wonderful!

Just a tip, on most cruise lines you can legally opt out of gratuity charges. In most cases that doesn’t usually make it to the employees. Just remember to do it towards the end of your cruise.

I went on their ship “freedom of the seas” back in 2019, though it wasn’t as fancy as this, it was still the most amount of fun I’ve ever had in my life! Would totally go on again. We didn’t feel like doing much on the islands, so we only had three excursions, zip lining, floating water park, and sea trek. The rest of the days were beaches. The food there was also super awesome. I went with my uncle who makes quite a bit of money, who took us on the ship, so we got a couple extra fancy things, such as the vip lounge, hanging out in the royal suite which they had bought for themselves, so when we would visit them we got some special treats such as room service and in the bar they had in their room (it was really fancy, if you wanna see it just look up ‘freedom of the seas royal suite’), and a pretty nice balcony, although I looked at other rooms and they weren’t as fancy but still looked pretty nice!

I suggest for you girls to try going in an Expedition Cruise. I worked in big ships before and now I work in Expeditions, and it's SO different! Small ships can get to remote places the big ones can't, and if you enjoy the destination more than the ship itself, you'll for sure love it.

i went on the allure of the seas exactly a year ago and that was also my first cruise. I would give Convenience a 5 star because at the time, the symphany of the seas just came out and everyone wanted to board that and not the allure (only difference is like a few hundred square feet and no robot baristas i think). Accommodation was a 4 star because i gave my suitcases to the staff and by the time we finally found our rooms our suitcases were there, no problems and no wrong suitcases. The only bad thing was the fact that the cleaning staff would come in even if you were inside and that kinda got annoying since i got a really bad sunburn on my face while on my voyage. Ameneties was a 5 because like i said before, when i got a sunburn on my face the cleaning crew saw me and gave me this special cream that helped my sunburn a lot. They also had free towels for when you went swimming and all you had to do to rent one was tap your card on a scanner. (they did have a 30 dollar fee for every towel you lose). Food was a 4 star for where i went for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the Allure i went to the Windjammer Marketplace for breakfast and lunch because it was closer and the only place i knew that had free food (all other places were like super fancy restaurants that charged actual money for everything you bought. the reason why its 4 stars is because of the time it opened. I wanted the most out of the vacation so everyday i woke up at 5 o clock (without an alarm clock cuz then i would hate the trip) and the windjammer marketplace opened at 6:45 so i would wake up at 5, take a walk around the entire ship which takes like 30 minutes then go to Windjammer and wait another hour and 15 mins but my entire trip was a life changing experience. So i would say you guys should have went on the Allure because its less crowded and other things

Better safe than sorry. I’m hypochondriac so I’m staying in bed until this outbreak is handled. It has nothing to do with racism it’s just a survival tactic, to slow down the spread of this outbreak it’d be better if Asians stay in Asia (specifically Chinese) and other countries where the Corona virus has been found.

The problem isn't the chances of being infected (which are pretty decent considering how many people are cooped up in a ship and how easily it can spread), it's the fact that NO country is taking that chance. At least one cruise ship has been refused entry in multiple ports despite no confirmed cases because many governments are simply unprepared for, and unwilling to risk an epidemic.

You can pay for gratuities before or include it in the initial cost of the cruise but I think it might depend on who you book through. And I never pay for wifi, I enjoy being disconnected on a cruise and actually enjoy myself. I just use my phone for pictures and checking the time.

I went once on this ship and once on its sister ship, and pretty much memorized my way around it. My favorite part is either the pizza place that you can just grab a bite from any time of day, or walking up and down the a million flights of stairs

As a person on this ship, it was absolutely amazing! It was super fun, the food was AMAZING! The activities were super fun, my sister went to kids club and it was so fun she says. I totally recommend going on this cruise after COVID-19 goes away!

Today's cruisers settle for a lot less than we received years ago. Until recently, you checked your bags at your home airport all the way to your cabin. When walking aboard the gangplank, there were servers with champagne and snacks. There was a nightly midnight buffet that had themes like seafood, chocolate, deserts, tropical delights..... And you could tour the bridge and the kitchen areas. When at port, you were not attacked by the local vendors or homeless people as you exited the ship. Servers would remember your name, and greet you with your favorite drink...... The good 'ole days. These mega ships breed anonymity, so people seem to be rude and self-entitled. I miss the old days of smaller ships with old fashioned amenities.

two years ago me and my family went on a national geographic = cruise and it was AMAZING really fun stops, great food, nice rooms, not too crowded. all over great!
