It stops working if I take it everyday. 2 days on 1 day off is kind of the limit for me

'It felt like I was moving through treacle' - heck, that sounds like my brain most days for my entire life. How wild is it to feel like, that's just what we thought was normal for the longest time? Congrats on the new job, I really hope things go as smoothly as possible for you there! And as for muddy walks in Vans, that was always gonna be a bold strategy, Cotton xD

I know! I actually don't know how I managed to function for the first 30 years of my life - I think I need a medal! It's madness when you think about it. Thank you for your support, I will keep you all updated with how the job goes :) I immediately regretted my choice in footwear...! Em x

Congrats on your new job!! don't worry, each time you go off the meds, it gets just a bit easier(I only noticed this after taking it for a few years). My theory is that with the meds, my brain is making new pathways, so when I do go off them, the pathways will still be there, hence why I don't find it so terrible. I'm no pro, so don't take my word for it!

Thank you so much Natz! Sorry that I haven't been posting recently, obviously I've been working a lot so that has taken up my time, but I'm super keen to get back to regular uploads. I really love that theory - it's like we're building our little brain-muscles! Hopefully it will get easier as I hate the idea that I might get hooked on them.

It can be disheartening when the extent of our impairment becomes clear to us. Going off our meds does that. Much better to understand the source of our struggles if we want to interrupt the try, fail cycle that has defined the course of many of our lives. Congratulations on accomplishing anything at all before your diagnosis - when you had at least one arm tied behind your back. You now have the tools to really do something with the skills that have gotten you this far.

heya what a week , sound like your brain didnt feel like giving you a break, or took a break when u still needed it too do stuff(like dropping coffee). the concerta compensates for the lack of focus the adhd can cause, being clumsy can get realy fustrating especialy if it messes up relaxing moments.its no wonder it takes you too emotional places. with all the things that are going and going off meds can remind you of past experience, this can trigger bad wave (like a tide).one step at a time u got a job ! wow i was clapping my hands from excitement haha. its of crouse a realy double feeling being scary and all with the extra worries of the meds, i am gonne buy you a coffee i think its wonderfull that your clumsy, it mean your mind is engaged (but not always on the here and now)it means you have a sense of wonder. i hope you can find some time too proper relax this week rooting for you ! (is there an other way to buy a coffe i dont have a creditcard?)

I hate bringing this up but my face changed after taking stimulant medication and when I'm off it goes back. I guess I'm lacking expression normally and I guess I noticed the same for you. I guess it's why I couldn't ever feel that I could put on a genuine smile and my eyes felt very flat and difficult to express with

Okay, so I had autism. I'm not sure if you might have it Emily. You have to diagnose it and you might need to have access to an increased amount of stimulant medication, Adderall, methamphetamine is the best. Then put work in restored internal composition. Start working on forcing your own control and restraint. Like I'm not sure but I was open to overreacting. So mental energy must be forced into prefrontal cortex physical behavior control. Then maybe work on just calming your mind, also use restrain on thoughts. Thing might need work and exercise. Change your body posture. That's more than physically forced into looking like it.

Congrats on getting the job!!! Thank u so much for sharing your journey. Your videos have helped me to calm down a bit and not start panicking because my prescriptions of 18mg and 27mg haven't worked. My mind was already starting to get to that "maybe I don't really have adhd" or "maybe I'm just dumb and lazy" 😂 now I'm understanding that maybe it just isn't the right dosage for me, which is actually why today my doctor prescribed 36 MG. I hope it doesn't make my stomach so upset cause I'm also on sertraline 😅

@concept226 It's complicated. I'm on 36mg now, and people around me have told me I'm more alert and more focused. There are bad and good days though, although the bad days are more linked to my sleep apnea lately. I'm also starting treatment for that. I don't know if that helps

@@queen0fhell193 I was just curious as i will be starting meds soon. Actually i am amazed you replied, most people on ADHD videos never reply, probably due to ADHD I guess. But i guess it was never going to be easy as you are the Queen of hell! 😈So that probably makes things more difficult. 😏Hope everything works out for you in the end though.👍

Hi Emily. I just started followed ur channel. Diagonised 2 months back. Running in same boat. My therapist advised concerta few days back. First week I tried with 18 mg, can feel productive and all. But problem was if I take concerta at 9 am . Its working till 4 pm only. So I checked with therapist after a week she advised me to take 2 18 mgs. Little bit better. But after concerta also, I have burnout days. If I am socialising for whole day. Next 2 days I can feel adhd burnout. Concerta I'd not working on me. Please advise. Did this happen to u? I thought meds will help for adhd burnout. I have 1 year old. This burnout days are affecting her badly. Please pour ur suggestions 😊

Well done on your job! I've started taking my meds much more regularly now, most days, including weekends. I now realise how many benefits I was depriving myself of, by not taking it on weekends. Is 36mg still adequate for your symptoms and has it settled down? (may have asked this already lol) I just watched your 18mg to 36 video again x

Hi there Toni, apologies for the delay in responding to you. I haven't felt any increased anxiety, but have noticed that if I drink a lot of caffeinated drinks when on the medication I feel a bit panicky. If you have any more questions, do let me know and I will try to answer them. You shouldn't be scared to take medication which could significantly improve your life, BUT a healthy level of caution is suitable when considering taking a drug. Make sure you talk to your doctor about any concerns you have - they will give you the best advice. I hope this helps :) Em x

@@adhdemily may I ask did you feel calmer taking it? I tried elvanse which initially made me calmer, then a few days later it was making me really anxious and sad The doctor upped the dose and it made me feel very strange. Have you tried elvanse? What do you feel like on concetra? Do you find your more emotional? Thank you for your help X
