Yaaaay! So glad you're here. Seeing this video makes me happy. Well done on the courage to do your first video. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been. Looking forward to more!!!

Wow I really appreciate your empathy. Yes it is and was extremely difficult to create and post this. I had filmed SO many things before that I never thought were good enough. But I'm hoping it will get better and easier after each time. Thank you

Good vid! Thanks for the explanation on Raku pottery. I still don't know what a Moon Glaze is, but at least we know you love the look. Fascinating section on cleaning up prior to sale (Day 2). Remember that KZbin reaches an international audience (I'm in Sydney, for example), and only two countries still use old units; your Celsius conversions are essential for understanding. Finally, Happy Birthday! I hope you had some cake.

You are so right! Sometimes I forget to do conversions and I will consider the international audience going forward. Thank you

Awesome video! Can I ask, what did you brush on to the bottom of your pots after you sanded them?
@Marlaina_thepotteryladyАй бұрын
Before glazing I brush wax on the bottoms to repel the glaze. After firing I brush Modge Podge on the bottom of things than won’t be in the dishwasher for a smooth finish. (Modge Podge isn’t dishwasher safe) And sometimes for things like mugs that will be going in the dishwasher I’ll brush on sun curing clear resin!

Hey there pottery lady!! Welcome to the KZbin community!! I haven’t started a channel for the exact same reason!! I am such a perfectionist it’s just ridiculous!! Good for you!!! I love your studio! Please do a studio tour! Your pieces are soo unique! I mean that in the absolute best way! Wow! Love them all. May I ask what it was that you put on the bottoms after you sanded them?
@Marlaina_thepotterylady3 ай бұрын
I know the fear of perfectionism is so crushing! I'm sorry you experience it too. It wont be perfect, but just starting with something will help you get over that hump. It's still very very hard though. I look forward to seeing them! Thank you for the recommendation! I will do little tour ;) and yes I actually am putting a Modge Podge gloss on them. It is not dishwasher safe so I only put it on display pieces as apposed to mugs and bowls etc.

@@Marlaina_thepotterylady Thanks so much for the kind words. I’ve never heard of mod podge being out on the bottoms. Doesn’t it just peel off?

I love this! Is the moon glaze something you make yourself or did you buy it from somewhere?
@Marlaina_thepotteryladyАй бұрын
The moon glaze is purchased from Mayco! They have great ones and I highly recommended trying out the different kinds they have before getting a big batch :)
