what it's really like to get a nose job - my rhinoplasty, plastic surgery vlog - Toronto - PART 1

After years of back and forth, researching, and going for consultations with plastic surgeons in Toronto, I finally got a rhinoplasty. My twice broken nose has been fixed! This video is not intended to provide any medical advice, nor is it to sell you on the idea of plastic surgery. I am not a medical professional. It is a behind the scenes look at the process and my experience. There is no footage of surgery in this video.
In this video I'm sharing:
There are different types of rhinoplasties, so what did I have done?
How I broke my nose
The emotions behind it, and getting my family on board
Research, and determining the best surgeon for me
Preparing for surgery
Securing allergy-safe, compounded medications
Mental toughness, facing fear and anxiety
After-care
Allergic reaction
Bullying and self confidence
Am I happy with the result?
Where I'm at now...

I really enjoyed watching this video. SO WELL DONE. This was such an emotional roller coaster and I'm really happy that you are happy and recovering well. Also...the relatability of 9:41 I can't lol

So this is what you did! I see now, you poor thing when I was checking on you because you were gone I had no idea you were going through this. My dad did the same thing because it was extremely difficult to breathe, it's a painful recovery process, but the first few days are the worst! So happy to see you enjoying the results and finally going for it!

Yes!! When I first did it, I was trying to just let people know I was okay but I wasn't fully ready to talk about it yet. But now it feels so good to get it off my chest haha. Thanks for checking in on me :)

I have my appointment set on April 21st! I am very nervous and also don’t really have an idea as to what my nose will look like after. My surgeon is amazing and told me everything that is going to happen, but they don’t really work with editing of pictures here in the Netherlands. Which I understand, but it does amp up a bit of anxiety.. seeing your journey made me less nervous especially the part where you talk about your mindset! Besides all the nerves, I am very excited to get it done!!! Loved the video and your results look amazing!!!!

Good luck! It is kind of scary not knowing exactly how it will turn out, but if you trust your surgeon and have an open mind/no specific expectations, I'm sure it will be amazing! Thank you so much for watching.

You did such a great job with this video! I'm happy you went through with it because it will bring you relief and happiness long term! Now that you accomplished this challenge in your life, having babies should be a breeze! ;) And, you're right, trying to heal with little kids around would have been so much harder. I'm glad everything worked out and that you feel better! Ps. I never even noticed your nose before this video! You are beautiful!

Your story is very similar to my story. I broke my nose when I was eight, and my nose looks different on each side. I’m finally deciding to have surgery this summer to correct the deviation and to finally breathe better,

Hello, were you able to wear glasses after the surgery or it isn't allowed?
@amandaorlando5303
@amandaorlando5303 2 жыл бұрын
There was a period of time where I was not allowed to wear glasses but even once I was allowed again, it felt uncomfortable for about 6 months so I chose not to wear them. Sunglasses especially since the frames tend to be heavier.

The ENT'S don't do rhinoplasties?(only a plastic surgeon does? I mean cosmetically)
@amandaorlando5303
@amandaorlando5303 3 жыл бұрын
There are different types of rhinoplasty and different ways that the surgery is done between an ENT vs a plastic surgeon. Ex. duration of the surgery. This is how it was explained to me by a plastic surgeon.

@@intueriii I'm not sure if it depends on the exact procedure being done, but for me they were all roughly the same rate. Dr. Smith was only slightly more expensive.

@@intueriii Unfortunately it's just an expensive surgery in general. And be sure to set aside some budget for after-care things like gauze and all the cleaning solution, cool air mist, etc. It adds up.
