no comment on DOP? As you're talking about San Marzano tomato, you may want to touch on DOP issue as well.

I have a legume allergy and didn't know. I kept going in Anaphylaxis monthly for the last couple of years. Do you know how to find safe makeup?

But there is bacteria in all milk unless its pasteurized and Homogenized. That would go for Oatmilk, Ricemilk, Cashewmilk, whole ruminant milks.

I developed a mild legume allergy about 5 or so years ago, that has been actively getting worse especially recently as I’ve been cooking for myself more and more. When I first developed it, I could eat a serving of beans at a Mexican restaurant and get a bit itchy and lethargic; today a single bite of beans on a fork will do that. I’m going to see an allergist sometime soon but I don’t know what to do overall.

hi Amanda, if you want to make it more smooth texture, would adding more olive oil do the trick?

I am told by a chiropractor that regular dairy products cause or contribute to fibromyalgia. He said he went to a conference on this, and they talked about it. That the milk proteins cause muscle problems. I love milk, cheese, etc. and eat/drink it all the time, but when I drink milk I feel a fatigue wash over me that renders me exhausted, and I have to go to sleep. Maybe it's the tryptophan in it, I don't know. At any rate, my muscle pain has gotten worse as I age. So a few days ago I stopped eating/drinking dairy. I am feeling quite a bit better, and I am looking for alternatives for milk for my coffee. I don't have the proper strainers, but made some "milk" from blended almonds. It was grainy, as I only had a regular strainer. I think I will use just regular cloth from something. Almonds are expensive, so am looking for options. I like cooked rice, and as one person suggested, just add more water. The problem I have found with rice milk and almond milk from the store is that you have to add SO much to get it light enough, and it ruins the taste of the coffee. I used Oat Nuts creamer, and really liked that as it didn't take much to lighten the coffee and it had a good flavor. But it's expensive. So I'll experiment and see what I come up with. Maybe after the milk is made, if it's too watery, it can be boiled down to make a thicker, creamier milk.

You should boil them first for 10 mins before blend it, otherwise you just drink raw rice milk.

Nice, interesting recipe, but just note cornstarch or corn flour should NOT be consumed without cooking first. I would warm it up in a pan with the milk first whisking it in with a small amount of milk added first, then added to the rest of the milk in the pan to avoidd lumps! Then, ince cooled, proceed with recipe. Just a suggestion. I wouldn't eat this raw, it could give you digestive issues.

Can arrow root powder be a nice replacement? And be eaten raw?
@j.w8680
@j.w8680 7 ай бұрын
@@patriciacolon5188 It has similar properties, but doesn't need to be cooked for as long. Do simmer it, say in a nut/other milk-base first before proceeding with a recipe, but this can be added more at the end of the cooking process, whereas it is recommended that cornstarch/cornflour be cooked thoroughly. Arrowroot is nutitious, too, but some of it's nutrition will of course be cooked off. It can be a great substitute for cornstarch as once cooked, the sauce can be frozen for later use & is also a good choice for any mix/sauce containing acidic ingredients (such as tomatoes).

Ah, the main reason most asian countries wash their rice is not because of dirt and bugs etc(although it is beneficial) but to rid of fungus since they are often deadly or even carcinogenic. Just wash the rice 2-4times throughly and drink the milk within a week or so. Even better, add acid or ferment it as kefir as lower ph inhibits these fungus.
