Are Jockeys a race of people who have been bred over centuries to be as close to dwarves as possible without actually being dwarves? Do they all live underground or in hollowed out trees? How much do you have to pay to buy a jockey on the black market? What do you feed them? Do they get angry when they are domesticated? Once you own one how do you set up your home to make it seem like their natural habitat? What is the best way to dicipline them if they don't do as they are told? Once they get too old to ride can a veterinarian put them down (euthanasia) or do you take them out back like Old Yeller and put one right between their eyes? So many questions about these strange creatures. If you guys could answer a few it would be greatly appreciated.

I think horse racing is so cool, but I don’t like how they treat the horses. Did you see how hard they wack them with that Stick thingy? Or how hard they pull the bit? Beating them doesn’t make them go faster. Imagine running as fast as you possibly can, than someone whipping you in the soft and sensitive flank to go faster. Humans are never pleased. Let me make this crystal clear . Horses feel a slap on the nose,belly and arse by your hand . Let that be the only force of discipline you ever use. Along with voice and body position is key. So body position first then voice and if all that fails then slap with your God given hands and back to voice . Teach like you would a child,firm but with a given confidence. Not any body knows this ,but a few and it is this few who should be near a horse.

What it takes to be a jockey. Key skills none. Yards will have kids as young as 16 . At that age they will believe anything and trainers can get a lot of work out of them by telling them if they work hard and show dedication they will get their licence. Most of them do get their licence and a ride in a race but it ends there. By that time the trainer will be promising the next kid and so on . Very few go on to have race riding full time jobs and even the ones that do are physical and emotional wrecks . Frankie dettorie ,cocaine addict. Pat Eddery, r..I..p , alcoholic. The horses get a worse deal. Foals are bred and taken from their mothers too early. To see a brood mare missing her baby year after year is a horrible thing to watch. They are then sent away at the age of 1 to a racing yard to be brutally broken in . Most yards do not have they time to back a youngster properly and most of them will not be racing at aged 3 . Many will not even make it to the race track. It is not a sport . It is backward and cruel on every level from the brood mares to the race track and from the stable slave staff to the ill jockeys. The ignorant stinking rich are the ONLY ones who get a thrill for a few hours . For the life of me I wonder , where are our brains when we allow this to go on ? When Will the world move forward and begin to heal from the wickedness that was invented back in the days when ppl would toss piss and shit out the Windows? It's not called sport of kings for nothing . Animals suffering and kids in slave labour all for the rich to have a jolly good DAY out. It's time we finish horse racing for good and the only way would be to understand the reality of it and realise if by not participating in it then it simply can not operate. Each and everyone of us are responsible for kind acts apon each other and we are responsible to ensure that the living things on our earth do not suffer in the name of entertainment and money. Many stable lads have dreadful gambling addictions. Horses do not enjoy racing they are running from fear. They are abnormally bred thus causing so many ills and injuries to them . Sexual abuse and bullying is rife in racing yards and is drug abuse amongst stable staff. PTS and depression along with a broken back is a possibility every hour of every day of the six days a week that the stable staff ride.6am to 6pm with a three hour break One day a fortnight off. For £1000 a month average wage . Horses are magical ,intelligent creatures. How dreadfully wrong it is to use them in this way. They have the power to heal many ills like addiction ,depression and ppl with brain damage can benefit massively. . How utterly ignorant and stupid it is to dismiss the horses abilities to help heal . I will this to stop with every fiber of my being . I stand for change. Are you ready?

+Chicken vlogs - Well you haven't used a foam whip then, have you? That's like talking cars and me saying a particular high performance one gives you a smooth ride and you replying no it doesn't because you've driven a different car that gave you a bumpy ride. A modern day, professional jockey's whip is air-cushioned with a fibre glass inner and is felt or foam covered, that doesn't hurt or mark a horse but makes a noise that horses respond to, being that they are creatures of flight......And that's without even taking into account they have an entirely different pain threshold to humans, due to among other things having thicker skins and a natural coat covering. You could hit a human with the current whips and it wouldn't hurt either.

It’s called a crop not a whip by the way
@jennalutz17946 жыл бұрын
I suck at Fortnite In racing it is called a whip. In English disciplines it's called a crop. A jockeys whip is foam ended and in some cases has actually has 4 feathers attached to it. The feathers are similar to the size your find in a pillow, and basically more of a rule thing than a function thing. The feathers purpose is to slow the whip down slightly. Not sure how well... but in some states a jockey will be disqualified before they reach the gate for a featherless whip. I don't mean to offend, just wanted to spread some knowledge:)

@jennalutz17946 жыл бұрын
Heavenlyone568 it depends on your weight. Jockeys don't have any requirements on height, but weight is a big problem. The short stature you see is usually not natural or healthy but due to malnutrition to the point of stunted growth. All states are different, but the average weight max is 100 pounds with your helmet, tack, whip, and attire all on. No jockey would with a life of laxatives, starving, puking, and dehydration on you. There are other extremely cool jobs though. Consider being an exercise rider! Exercise riders have no weight or height restrictions, they only need to be fit. You job could be to jog, canter, and breeze the thoroughbreds. Some may need some training, some exercise. It's a early hours of the morning job, but very rewarding when the horse you rode won the races.if you are still set on being a jockey, the most generous weight allowance in the world us in Japan. I believe the maximum is 130 pounds. Hope this helps:)
