The key points I got from this one is stay true to yourself and don't try to be the next "someone else", be kind to everyone, and work hard. It's worth the effort.

thank you for another great video! i like that atlantic is big, yet artist friendly, not so data driven, and is focused on making good music. balanced with wanting the artist to have a good team and strong work ethic and acknowledging the importance of an artist’s story and personality, who they are behind the scenes and what they stand for. personally, i engage with an artist more once i hear their story, whether i like their music or not. to that end, i’ve read countless memoirs, and learning about their personal and musical journeys often give new meaning to their songs.

Excellent episode Ritch chocked full of info. I've learned to watch these interviews a couple times before commenting. I pick up something new everytime. Pamela has a passion for not only music but also her position within it. It's awesome to see the excitement in her speech when pointing out her perspective and approach. I was happy to hear her talk about actual artist development and how she believes in it. Also finding the next act before it has become one is amazing to hear coming from the inside. The segment on success was also a mind opener. The degrees of success and their definitions can greatly vary from one artist to another depending on the goal. What I took from that was, first of all have a goal and second focus on the small successes throughout the journey to the goal to stay motivated, inspired and productive. Ritch, the topic of wins for the artist once on board was food for thought for sure. Those incremental gains are huge in maintaining confidence and growth. There were a ton of thought provoking talking points here, thanks for that. As a side note, it may be a cool thing to have a few of these guests in one show. A collaboration of sorts. It would be a much longer episode but could be really interesting. Thanks again guys for the great content. Till next time take care 👍👍🎸🎵🎶

All record labels do is aquire assets for themselves, and the money they give you is a debt you owe for your music, likeness, and any other ventures you make in the music industry. It's sad that A&R is your consultant to how you spend your advance while taking a percentage off of the top of your advancement that you have to pay back while taking points off of your record and master points after the release of your music 😂. A&R are the used car salesmen of major record labels. They only consult and sell the idea of fame while taking your money 😂.
