Without unbundling the "National Grid" system, and replacing it with "state-wide" or "geo-politicatical zone-wide" Grid system, we can never get it right. It's not a curse, it's natural. Large scale systems are usually cumbersome, and when you add the "Nigerian Factor" to it, what you get is what we are getting. Period!

Are there engineers in Nigeria that could be interviewed instead of a policy wonk?

Very impressive work please my advice to the governor Alex Otti is that they should also include sidewalk for pedestrian to walk on for you can't expect human being to be fighting with vehicle like termite in this 21th century

If all the ministries owing electricity company in Abuja pay their debts, electricity company would be so rich they wouldn't need to disturb poor individual consumers for some time.

Why is the guest putting the failure on consumers? Do the distribution companies have the required technical Capacity to accept what is been transmitted to them?
@olaniyiolaleye87107 ай бұрын
Let start from the electricity company equipment. Many of them are obsolute and can't perform the required function. The transformers, proctection devices, the cables, both overhead and underground. Government need to pay attention to them. About the cash collection issues, government need to provide all consumers with prepaid energy meter free of charge. Subsequently a strong law needs to be made about energy theft which will include sending culprits to jail and the law must be seriously enforced. Go and try that simple test and see if we can at least see a little changes. ***ENFORCE LAWS.***

God bless Gov. Dr Alex Otti of Abia State. Nigerian government should sign restructuring of the Nigerian forced Constitution. Regional police and many more as demanded by the citizens. This man here is politicising here. If you need to interview someone about power, invite prof. Engr. Barth Nnaji of Geometric power plant in Abia state. Nigerians should get serious for once on national development.😢

Nigeria doesn't even manufacture its own transformers or equipment. This guy is no expert. I dont think any real high level electrical engineer exists in Nigeria

Who owns & maintain the roads in your various states? All permanent network infrastructure should be owned by the state govt. Anyone can generate and send to receiving stations in various states.. How foolish is this country Nigeria? I can draft a simple distribution plan that will benefit everyone all arms of govt including people who have excess solar energy and wants to sell power back to govt. I am Sorry i called Nigeria foolish, but the whole solution to the system is just so simple. Except there are hidden motives of the president that i don't know.

The idea of privatisation of govt property without publicly valuing it & publicly trading it, is Criminal. Every Nigerian should have a right to own a share in their public property. It means whom ever bought it privately an individual or a group, sold govt property to themselves with the help of govt officials. The whole power system in Nigeria can be a public/ private partnership at all levels...

Question is very simple but this people complicate everything, solution is very simple and easy and is very clear that this people are not connecting with the local consumers.

Forget 2024, there wouldn’t be 24/7 electricity in 2040.

This is totally wrong! Why would you invite people, none engineers, who don’t understand the workings and dynamics of the electric power industry and have not worked particularly in the Nigerian Electric Supply Industry, to explain the sectors problems to your audience. Do the right thing. Invite the Chartered Institute of Power Engineers of Nigeria to help you with people, who know and understand what they will talk about.

You all are confused and don't have any idea of how to get things working. What about people who are ready to pay, from Lagos to Asaba, P H, Ibadan, Enugu, etc? You guys just don't know what to do.
