I have finally reviewed my Cadillac CTS-V coupe. I hope you enjoy the montage. The 2011 CTS-V coupe was the first year for the 2 door. With a LSA 6.2L Supercharged v8, i think you can guess how much fun i had filming this.

The CTS coupe is still one of the most beautiful cars ever made. I had one, and traded in. Biggest mistake of my life. For the past two years I regretted it until two days ago when I saw my car (THE SAME CAR I LET GO TWO YEARS AGO) Go back up for sale on auto trader. I couldn't believe it. My CAR THE CAR I drove. I went and bought her back, and I'll never let her go again. I've owned MANY high end cars since her and I'd choose her again (which I did) everytime :)

Note on the transmission. When in manual mode just hold the upshift paddle up a few seconds to put it back into auto mode. No need to take it back from the sport setting. Accidentally found this feature when reading the manual on my V-Wagon. Nice video!

Well I’ve always wanted to upgrade from my 3.0 CTS to a V. Yesterday I found one that I actually knew. Unfortunately an elderly veteran passed away that I met at a gas station months prior. When I heard he passed, I told myself I’d give it some time and approach the family with a fair offer. Turns out they gave it back to a bank. A bank I’ve done business with for decades. So today I’m picking up my 2012 V for 18k. It’s a little rough but still a heck of a deal. I can’t wait.

I never owned a vehicle over 3 & 1/2 years until I bought my V in 2013. In July I will have owned mine for 7 years. I have fallen in love with it. I’ve never had any issue with it except the front tires I had to get 500’s as the 250’s were too soft & wore in the inside within 8,000 miles & I had to have my super charger replaced thru a recall. I can’t imagine life without my car. I have never seen another one around like my diamond black 2 door. Most have 4 doors. I think I’m going to need therapy some day if I ever decide to sell it. I just rolled 40,000 miles last month. I have a short commute & I don’t drive it every day. I ❤️ your flat black!

I have a 14 coupe... looks just like yours except mine's white. I quickly developed the habit of putting my foot on the lower door edge when opening it to give it an extra push wide open. I absolutely love mine though. I call it a "Werewolf in a Tuxedo". Powerful, fast but comfortable and luxurious. One thing many people don't mention though (although you did) is the ride system. The car handles like a dream at high speed. I have had mine to 165 and still felt in total control of it (although curves can get a bit scary at that speed in ANY vehicle). I love my V...

I Also own a 2011 CTS-V coupe and your on point with all three issues that I also share with owning one. However- It's got such a great base in the engineering that a few after market upgrades can take you to a ridiculous level of performance. I'm gonna add a fourth issue you didn't address. Getting someone in the back seats!!The motor that moves the seats is so slow you are in a minimum 2-3 minutes waiting on the seat to move up, release the backrest button, let whomever contort their body to fall in to a very small area and then return the seat too the needed driving position. For such a fast car the seat motors are SLOOOOW. Overall minor complaints for what I noticed in your video, Its is the SMILE you can't avoid when you dump that gas pedal! Awesome Car!

I used to own Camaros and one Vette. When I reached 77, I could only exit them by crawling out head first and dragging my legs out after. My wife said "Get rid of these. You can't even get in and out of them." I sold my Camaro SS and got a CTS-V coupe, the most amazing car I've ever driven. This machine is a beast. When you stomp the gas pedal and the procharger starts to whine, the thing will throw you back in the seat and rocket you to the horizon in a big hurry. Very comfy and easy to enter and exit. Greatest car I've ever owned. I wonder what possessed a luxury car maker like Cadillac to make a monster like this. Whatever the reason, I love it. You want the greatest thrill of a ride? Get one. You won't be sorry.

As a CTSV coupe owner, I have to agree with everything Rob is mentioning 😂. Rear visibility is garbage and throttle response is slightly delayed when you stab it, but a ported or bigger TB fixes that. Would have been nice if he touched on the adjustable suspension and how the sunroof doesn’t slide back.. just tilts up an inch lol.

Rob great car, I had a 2011 CTS-V that I sent down to Hennessey for their V700 package. Parted with it late 2014, I miss it! This video reminds me of what I loved about it. Real quick, you made a comment @ 7:50 about once you're in sports mode and have shifted manually, you're unable to get back to sports mode with automatic shifting without going to normal D and then back to Sports mode. I learned while having my car you can actually hold one of the tabs on the back of the steering wheel and it will return to automatic shifting. Same with if you hold forward on the gear selector while in sports mode, that will put it back into automatic shifting mode as well. Hope this helps you as it did me when I had the car! - Chris from Grand Rapids

That car is bad ass. Especially in that flat black. Always loved caddys sport versions of their cars. XLR-V yum! Mid 90's RX7 was also my dream car. I was just a kid in my 20's when my buddy was buying a mid 90's Mazda 6. I went with him when he was purchasing it. I wanted to test drive the RX7 so bad so I played it off to his salesman like I had a toon of money and was interested in the RX7. No shit he let me take it out, alone! lol . I'll never forget that drive, it was awesome.

Hell yea! Guardian of the high performance Coupe! You never mentioned the one thing the car mags are always harping on, that would be the CUE system and your thoughts in it! I rented a beautiful 2015, new at the time XTS, the regular AWD V6 all black Cadillac, that I thought was amazing! But being a rental without any owners manual or guide to the CUE system, it did take me a couple days to figure out how to use the radio and Nav. Plus the CUE system is what is called haptic, meaning all the switches do not move in the regular sense, but kind of have a dealing, a pulse of sorts when you've used it correctly. But I'm sure if I had the manual I would have made total sense of it and been pleased. Cause the car itself? Was great! Now they have the new CT6, with three different engines and two different drives, priced from the mid 40's around my area to the high 80's!!! But they say the best driver is the 4 cyl! RWD! With us moving from the New England states, to Fla by the winter and have no longer a need for AWD, I am considering buying a sedan, with a 50k budget. So it's going to be either a Chevy SS a Charger SRT or the CT6, 4 or 6 cyl in my future. It all depends on the local deals and dealers and what is available at the time!

What you said about the paddle shifting and how once you do it the car wont go back to shifting for itself, next time youre driving it try holding down the upshift paddle. I work at a rental agency so im just driving new cars around all day, and i do my fair share of driving in whatever sport modes the cars offer (track mode with traction control off in the mustang gts, dont tell my boss) and every one that has paddle shifters will allow the car to go back to shifting on its own if you hold the upshift button for 3 seconds i believe. Idk if you even still have the car but if you do might as well give it a try

The correct mode for the manual mode shifter is + is a downward pull, - (which you rarely use) is an upward push, and a side push re-engages the auto mode. That’s it. No further discussion on the matter.

The entire time I watched this I constantly thought of how I would counter this video with "What its like owning a 2016 Cadillac ELR" taking it point by point - sadly I am shit with video editing and well, none ya want to see me on camera anyway. The ELR (specifically the 2016s) were truly the antithesis of the CTS-V - but so good (and so similar in certain ways).

Rob I believe this video taught me a couple years ago about the ten second hold of the TC button to disable the entire stabilitrak system. Now! I just watched again and I think you helped me figure out an issue I’m having caused by a broken strut I haven’t fixed. Thanks man!
