I deal with computer chip just clean it and test it in a warehouse. Feel like it time to switch fields to Banking. I don't mind wearing suit and tie to work everyday. Honestly, I have no experience in banking, but I do run my own smoothie stand business on the weekend. I guess I could label myself as the saleman , restocker, customer service and cashiser, lol..

It's the absolute worst job imaginable. I did it two years before I wised up. I worked for a major bank (one of the big 4) at very busy locations. The term "personal banker" is bull shit. Personal salesman/woman is your real title. I worked there years ago so I am sure it's worse now with hardly anyone going into the bank, but you will spend your day harassing the 5 people that come into the bank to refinance their mortgage, sign up for a credit card, or sit with a financial advisor. You'll do all of that for little to no bonus (quarterly not monthly). I don't want to come across as condescending, but if you're going to put yourself in a high pressure sales job, at least work at a place like AT&T or somewhere that has a decent commission structure.

A lot of personal banker roles have no selling whatsoever. Depends on the bank.

I’ve been in banking for 16 years at the same bank . I have been in all sorts of positions. I held a position as an assistant manager branch manager being the youngest assistant manager at my company and I think at the time I had a very demanding Boss and my child was young. I came home so stressed out because of the sales goals and going on blind calls to try and get accounts and loans . I volunteered to stepped down and spend that last 8 years basically being utilized as a teller supervisor at slammed pack busy ass branches. I think the right position for me is getting back on the desk but not as a manager with so much demands and not as a teller where my skills and schooling are not being utilized and I’m being used to work 6 days a week ( we are opened on Saturday’s) to kill the massive lines In our branches where we are very cash heavy . I’m excited to say I have interviewed for a personal banker position and I believe this is the ying and yang /the perfect balance for this season of my life . So glad I found your video !

@@xtinedike4334 hi it’s going great ! I love my job !! I get paid a base pay plus commission. I made top credit card sales persons . I took about 2 weeks of vacation so I literally made 7 closed credit cards in about 6 weeks time! I get paid $25 for each consumer credit card approved and $75 each business credit card closed. I still have a lot to learn and like every job it has it’s stresses. Most of the time is the lack of training of special accounts like IRAs and Trust and missing paperwork and back office threatening to close the account unless I hunt customers down to sign the missing docs but I love my job . My hours are 8:30 to 4:00 and half hour lunch. We stay like sometimes until close to 5 pm to finish up files but it’s going great!!!

Do you have a degree? I’m currently getting my Associates in Accounting and I want to be a personal banker, which from my understanding is a “step above” a teller (I’ll start out as a teller if I have to but I feel like having a degree will give me an edge)
@KeepingItKurvy

Been in banking for 6 years , you don’t need a degree. Branch banking now has a high stress level due to online banking On the rise , and low for traffic . Banks still have these unrealistic goals. If you want to be a banker just work as a teller and I guarantee, u will be offer a banker position because no one wants to do now a days

ALL DIFFERENT HONESTLY! Credit Unions make less than regular banks MOSTLY! But just like any job you have to negotiate and that's what I did. Bankers usually make 15-23$ PLUS COMMISSION. But every city/state is different

HI THERE. Thanks for sharing all this information. I am very interested in being part of any banking team. Do you need some kind of certification? Also, do you have any suggestions on how I can approach them without having any experience? How did you start working there? Again, thank you for your time. I hope to hear from you soon.
