A Japanese girl who uses Chinese to communicate with her Korean boyfriend...Ain't that some cultural shit right there

I think that it is sure indication of Anglo-American decline. A decade ago, they would have definitely used English to communicate with each other, since that is the foreign language they both would have received in school. They must have been learning Chinese in their respective schools, knowing full well that China will replace America as the largest trading partner of each country.

MrJm323 I don't think Chinese instead of English as a lingua franca will ever happen. Chinese is too hard. And it's not even a language! It's so complicated... English, on the other hand, is the easiest language.

It really is not hard to have a wonderful relationship between cultures. I'm american who spent years in germany and my wife is from Hiroshima. She knows english and I am slowly learning japanese to be equal. we met by accident and knew within 3 dates that we wanted to be married. sometimes differences are strengths...you have to be willing to bend and flex with each other. we eat alot of japanese style food, mainly because I actually really enjoy it and it made me lose alot of weight...but we both eat anything. I respect her culture and accept her ways and she does the same. all it takes to make it work is caring for the other person...if you care, you are willing to bend and work together. I'm sure it would be harder for us in areas where interracial marriage is looked down on, but at the moment, we are near NYC and it doesn't stand out at all.

poppy2old as an asian man that have been to western world the first problem is there 1-No rice to eat. 2-the surrounding is not familiar. 3-the part where a man have to prove manhood by drinking and how many woman you have sex with. 4-asking me how i got my nice tan skin( i was born with tanned skin). this is just what i have encounter i know not everyone is western world are like this, to sum it up if you have become literally friend with asian we will be as wild as you and know how to have fun without the need of a booze. but seriously why western guy always need to prove the manhood like i prefer cat more than dog and they said that is not a real man pet. This is just what my experienced is western world i am not going to say which country i feel bad about it.
@poppy2old
@poppy2old 9 жыл бұрын
ItJust Zul I guess like any other culture men always have to prove their cents worth or manhood . But this only occurs during the peak of the late teens early twenties. To need to drink because my friends drink. To smoke because my friends smoke. Considerly known as peer pressure or to view one standards .In other words you like cats but men society says that men are not supposed to have cats as pet. Then you are viewed as a certain standards then you'll be hased upon. Me I like cats but it doesn't mean that I will have one for a pet but you might criticize my decision over not having a cat for a pet and somewhere along the lines my manhood will be question. In the US there are people ( men or woman ) that see things one sided and most of them are pretty much bullys. But if you tell them that there opinions don't mean anything to you thay back down and leave you alone.

***** A weeabo is someone (usually a younger teenager aged around 15) who is obsessed with Japanese culture. Soo this might have nothing to do with anime. My friend is practically obsessed with anime, but does not learn Japanese or anything about Japan... Sorry, but I really hate it when people automatically assume someone is a weeabo, just because they like anime. Sure, weeabos' obsession with Japanese culture probably has its roots in anime in a lot of cases, but it's really rude to just generalize the whole anime community as weirdos...

ooh man, whats wrong with saying that someone's acting is cute! I don't understand why so many people make such a huge issue about the weaboo thing. And actually I dont really care. I'm not obsessed with Japan, but I'm really interested in their culture! I also learn their language. Isn't it great to have an interest? if I would come to your country completly amazed about you tradition and learning your language - would this made me a weirdo? I'm not overacting, and actually I don't even watch that much animes. It just makes me happy! What's wrong with being happy?

+TheBritishGeek You right, but unfortunately the people on both side have not real influence about their government decision. If a crazy man declare war, its war. Then you know what will happen in most of people mind. The Chineses didnt hate Japaneses before WW2, then they did because of war triggered by only 1 man. So i think that most of people's mind are very weak. As you see on the white shirt girl side, her parents are against her relation because Chineses have bad view on Japaneses. But they didnt took in consideration that not all Chineses hate Japaneses.

If you actually think about gender roles analytically you will realise that women have wombs and men do not and therefore being protective of women gives the man an evolutionary advantage. But it also takes an analytical mind to appreciate that just because it makes evolutionary sense to protect women from the dangers of the world, doesn't mean women should be expected to remain locked away and be perfectly submissive, because having autonomy is just as important for your overall health as staying out of the jaws of a tiger is. So feel free to treat your significant other like a Victorian house-wife but don't be surprised if she then starts acting like a crazy emotional bitch and stabs you in your sleep or becomes a shadow of her former self, nagging, whining, crying and being thoroughly unattractive until you become a lecherous, wife-beating drunk. Those are just some of the mental health benefits of the pre-feminist era you pathetic scumbag :D

You're trolling because you have not addressed any of my points. Protecting a pregnant woman gives the male, who impregnated the female, an evolutionary advantage due to the fact if he risks his life while protecting the life of his mate, his genetic material is more likely to survive even if he dies sooner. Same goes for a woman protecting a child, and letting the man protect her. Their combined genetic material survives and this behavioural trait is passed down. Extrapolate this across millions of years and cultural, physiological and neurological differences start to become apparent as, in general but not always, women do less labour and spend more time raising children than men.

gibson You're going on with the assumption that post-sexual revolution the problems I mention went away. Wife beating is likely more prevalent now because gender stereotypes dictate that men have to be dominant. Now that men are no longer the primary bread winner, some turn to physical abuse to maintain their dominant status and control women. These abhorrent or stealthy methods to control women are more common now (or perhaps peaked at some point in the mid to late 20th century) because many men feel insecure about their position in a more equal world having been raised with old ideas about gender roles still in their death throws. It is important to note, that women are also in the habit of trying to control men. This is due to the same dysfunction relationship dynamic we saw pre-sexual revolution, where women had to develop methods to win autonomy in an oppressive environment. Both sexes are guilty of this which makes relationships more difficult these days because many of our controlling behaviors are subconscious or learned from our living relatives e.t.c. We do agree that the inequality between men and women happened naturally. However, there is much less of an environmental pressure to maintain that disparity of power. So feminism represents a natural social evolution with the age of technology where manual labor is valued less and workers are confronted by fewer health risks. Don't get me wrong, I think it's an important time to think about men, their rights, their needs and to stop feminism becoming a matriarchy. But, we must also not forget that the sexual revolution freed women from many eons of systemic oppression and we must not regress. Progress, however, will always be controversial, hard to measure or predict. I love my independent, educated women, though. Let's just make sure that young men have those aspirations too.

Things shouldn't be as hard as it may seem, the language barrier, yes that's hard but actually try to learn it and be dedicated to it, to me that shows how much you wanna be and communicate with them. If you're with someone from a different race/religion/culture just learn to accept it, just like how you accepted them when you said "Yes" to being with them and everything else that they have to offer.

Language is probably where the majority of problems come from when dating a Japanese woman. People don't realize how major a barrier it can be sometimes when trying to convey expressions and thoughts. This is also the case when trying to explain certain cultural differences. Like the girl noted, Japanese don't express their innermost feelings so willingly and trying to explain that to a foreign man can be frustrating to both the Japanese woman (or even man) and the foreign partner. If ya wanna date a Japanese person, please do learn the language VERY well :D

In all seriousness though, language and cultural differences can really matter though. My dad tried to set me up with a girl from Korea (because my family's South Korean) but she didn't speak English well, and I didn't speak Korean well and she was born and raised in Korea whereas I was in America, so we could tell right away we were too different. We couldn't even hold a decent conversation together. On the other hand, I can get along well with most anyone who speaks English, whether they're Asian or not. Although it's easier for me to talk to 2nd and 3rd generation+ Asians as opposed to those who immigrated from their country when they were grown up.

As a gaijin from Korea, it is extremely hard to meet Japanese women compare to meet other foreign women. I want to say what Koreans call 외국인(外國人) is slightly different from gaijin in Japan. Gaijin is more like outsider (not in negative way) of Japanese society. Of course Japanese people are friendly to gaijins but it's not easy to get along with them in a same level.

@maxdecphoenix
@maxdecphoenix 8 жыл бұрын
+FindMeInKurume It's hard for even automated-focusing cameras to track the focus object if it is constantly moving. Notice that the women are constantly swaying side to side, or bobbing forward and back. Bending down in embarrassment, etc. This is why typically, interviews are done seated, to restrict a lot of that movement, and the focus remains relatively fixed within a narrow plane. Films/tv go to obsessive lengths testing scenes/shots. you wouldn't think it, but the amount of planning and rehearsal that goes into a simple panning shot where a particular object is to remain in focus is very forumulmatic. blocking markers and orientations are placed on the floor, paths are marked out, etc etc. Some of the t.v. shows can get away with these type of 'on the street' ambush-interviews because they just have the most expensive, top of the line cameras on the market, with professional lighting and cameramen. It's difficult to ask most YT'ers to make these types of investments.

My wife and I needed to fight so bad to get our relation accepted inside her family or people around. Good thing I am stubborn. :) I am canadian (white) and in my surrounding, everyone was happy about my situation. The good side tho about that fighting is I think it made our relation stronger and real. We were able to go through and live separated for couple months waiting for immigration.
