Sakamoto Days starts off with a slice-of-life/comedic vibe (which I personally love!) and is seemingly episodic in nature, but the more it progresses the more it gets plot-heavy and dare I say even pretty philosophical. Based on this and your opinion about other series, I'm sure it has the potential to become one of your favourites ever! Here's a few reasons to get hyped: - cool exam-style arc!! - an arc that easily rivals JJK's Shibuya both in terms of action, tension, plot twists, and hype (Assassin Exhibition of the Century) - whole arc focused on prime Sakamoto (ft. Nagumo and his drip) - we're currently in the middle of a flashback arc showing how Sakamoto and Shin met and became close (remember in episode 1 Shin said they used to work together)

@@Mohammadzabuasi yeah i will recommend you to read the manga. Sakamoto days is one of the most violent shonen manga of all time. And its plot and characters are interesting as well. I dont think TMS entertainment have the balls to animate the violent scenes. So just read the manga. Its art is epic as hell. It has arguably the best art style among all the new gen shonens.

The problem with Sakamoto Days is that its story isnt as fast paced as like the other new gen animes like - Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Solo Leveling etc. It will take time to reach its peak. It's story's pacing is like the pacing of One Piece, Naruto, Bleach etc in where the story develops first then peak moments happen. So you guys should just let story to play out. And as a manga reader I can confirm you that you guys will not be disappointed in future. Because the plot of Sakamoto Days is very interesting and it is one of most violent shonen manga of all time. The characters are so cool and well written as well. You guys will see some glimpses of it in episode 5. So, lastly i will tell you guys just watch this episodes without any expectations and it will surely blow you away in future.

Guess I’ll say sm as a manga reader, I read a lot of manga and Sakamoto days is one of my favorites the vibe is slow to start but when it picks up later it PICKS UP. Has some of the best action and the coolest villains in the game, yall will love it for sure Edit: love the wood GEK symbol in the back too

This is one of the only manga I get excited about every release. It’s so top notch with some of the best choreography and art that does such a good job of conveying motion and has such a unique style and shot choice. That’s not even mentioning the story and how likable the characters and comedy are. They may not have built to the peak moments yet, but there is so much potential if they follow the source material.

As an avid manga reader of this series, the aura farming of every character in this show is really top notch. Lol idk if that will get you hype but the fights man… they are really cool. And the characters are really great

I'll say this: The manga has some of the coolest characters and sickest fights i've ever seen in manga/anime. I just hope the anime can do them justice when they happen

I may be in the minority but so far this anime season I've been enjoying keeping up with the characters in Sakamoto Days much more than Jinwoo in Solo Leveling. There's way more heart and I've been loving the "found family" dynamic that's been progressing so far in the series. This is just way more up my alley.

In fairness Solo levelling is at its peak (IMO) in S1 content while Sakamoto days is still character building and has a lot more possibilities that can unfold for anime onlies

I highly suggest off to the side picking up and starting more chill animes, unforunately im not a patron so I dont know which shows you guys are watching over there but if you haven't i HIGHLY recommend frieren beyond journey's end, apothecary diaries, eminence in shadow and that time i got reincarnated as a slime, all great animes with really solid action and decent pacing!

okay so reason why i love sakamoto days is the fact that every character you get introduced to if that be a villain or a good guy they will always have a unique fighting style to them while also giving them backstory giving more depth into the characters which i love a lot of animes will show you a cool character only to have them for 1eps. Sakamoto days has this great blend of comedy but also showing this dark and serious thing going on. The other thing about sakamoto days is when you get introuced to those characters in the OP trust me things will get crazier P.S watch out for the old geezer 🫣… and every time a chapter comes out it’s always a different adventures going on so it never gets boring. I do hope netflix does a good job with the later eps and cour 2 animation because it goes insane🔥🔥

Gonna sound like an hater but adaptation doesn't give justice to manga. Ep 5 was supposed to adapt a fight that hit hard when reading the manga but anime didn't hit at all.

Sakamoto days will have some of the greatest choreographed fight scenes in anime the manga author is such a goat when it comes to framing the action shots that if they do them 1:1 it's gonna be on some matrix 1 level epic fights

sakamoto days is my favourite manga as far as action goes, but you have to wait a little till the main story gets going. it won't take that long tho. its not like solo leveling where it just hype farms, this has a bunch of things going for it

Another Manga reader pitching in. What impressed me with SD, especially the more I read, is its ability to flip from happy slice of life moments to the underbelly of society. A lot of the villains have human characteristics or mannerisms that could be seen as comical, but at the end of the day they are still killers, and hold their own philosophies on taking a life. Where the manga shines is how the Sakamoto household deals with these very real and dark threats that come after them, but are still able to humanise the villains in a way that makes you always feel like they still deserve to live.

If you only knew how production committee which is TMS, Shuiesha and TV TOKYO butchered this peak. But yeah its peak in terms of fights but that doesn't mean story and writing are bad, but fights so hard-boiled that they're simply outshine everything in their way, but it's actually writing and plot what does make those fights interesting along with cool characters like Nagumo fighting with mostly cool unusual weapons. Shootout Yuto Suzuki for peak panelling, fight choreography and fight creativity, dude is madman who graduated from one of the top japanese art university and spreading all over the screen and think we didn't notice

Sakamoto Days starts of a lil bit slow. But after that initial phase, it just gets better n better. Be it the pacing, the story, the characters. There is so much to look forward to. My only concern is I hope the anime can do justice to it, cuz the manga is absolutely peak..especially the action, its top tier.

00:04 I'm enjoying the show, especially some of the added scenes that weren't in the manga, but more so because I still see people (manga readers or anime-onlies) genuinely enjoying it. I do agree that a more stellar adaptation would've been amazing, but it's not that much of a deal for me. I look forward to your Sakadays reactions every week! Sad to see that the hype isn't a lot for the anime; still, I'm just glad more people are enjoying this series, since I rarely saw talk about it prior to reading it. This first cour of the season is pretty lighthearted and slow, but the second cour in July will be where things pick up. But even knowing that, I still look forward to seeing how you guys react to the end of this cour.

As an anime only it just feels like the most text-book anime a this point. Every 2 episode having yet another hit-man that gets humbled by our crew and getting some insight on the characters we like. It works, but its just very basic in animes to have these typical tropes and it really needs more. It's only 5 ep so it still has time to develop, but for now its just like any other generic decnet anime shonen out there. I think what makes dandadan so great is to be so unpreditable and having high pace, which this show is missing.

Im not even going to try and hype up the anime for you guys, its not worthy of it. Im caught up to the manga and its genuinely so good, im so sad out of all recent shonen jump manga sakamoto days had to be the one with the weakest and most disappointing adaptation. The fights in the manga are as good if not better than jjk, but its clear the anime wont do them justice. Sakadays deserves to look how solo leveling looks now. I hope they change studios for the second season.
