Dolly Parton is an American treasure. If only everybody could have her self-esteem and self-confidence to be themselves and not care what others say or think, the world would be a better place. Dolly aint never changed who she was for nobody or to simply fit in.

I don't buy that. She did what she had to do. ????? unfortunately back in her day women just accepted that. Dolly was smart. talented. Had the body. An new to play it cool. and in time she called the shots. But now with covid. And artifical inteligence. Those days are gone.

I think the key in his wife not being “jealous” so to speak, is that he was truly taking care of her and her needs. It is in (most often) a place of lack in a relationship (and/or self) when you see the green eyed monster show up. He respected his wife and he respected Dolly. Stand up man! saw Kenny so many times at Harrah's in Tahoe , even when I didn't actually go into the show you could sit at the " rendezvous lounge " bar in Tahoe and see him on stage behind the bartender . Could not hear him but you could see him . Loved his show with his 1st addition band as well as well . Steve Martin was Kenny's " warm up act " for a while there also . I loved the 70's when I lived in Sacramento . There were only 4 casinos in Tahoe back then . The show stars would come down Late at night to walk around and play games . There was hardly anyone in the Tahoe Casinos in the middle of the night except for the janitors cleaning up and a few tables open . I met so many stars one on one that way . Dom Deluise , BB King , Kenny . They would just sit at talk with you . great times ...

I was in the country music business out of my hometown NASHVILLE for over 38 years first as a roadie and retired on the booking end, My job was to go to the town an act or acts would be playing in and putting up posters flyers, I did the shows for DALE REEVES , RONNIE MILLSAP, MARSHALL TUCKER, LORETTA LYNN, and many many more, DOLLY PARTON is a very friendly outgoing person who doesn't mind fans wanting photos autographs their picture taken with her, LORETTA LYNN is another star who doesn't forget were she came from her fans are like family she says, The worst two are REBA and BARBRA MANDRELL both let their heads swell up and Mandrell said those idiots who came to see her perform also gave her a big bank account, REBA is just a smartass but she comes across as a sweet gal who loves her fans and if her fans knew her for real they would leave and never buy a ticket or cd of hers,

I meet, job related, crossed paths, smiled and exchanged smiles up close, with Dolly, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt when they did the Trio album. All were friendly but Dolly was special she mingled with the little people so easily. She was pretty real that way. Linda was nice but very spoiled, and didn't mingle, but had the opportunity experiencing/observing her behaviors more due to various other circumstances. Everyone loved Dolly she was so friendly. Unforgettable despite the flash. I believe the 2 most important people in her life was Judy and her husband. They all understood loved and accepted each other; Dolly seems loyal to those she love and know and they her, especially. Big hearted inside to people, working class or whatnot.. I'm surmising much of this ramble from the tiny glimpse I had and from how she has dealt with the public gossip about her personal and long lasting relationships despite it, she did her. Sweet. She seems to be a very valuable friend, and those come far and few between, a blessing to have, I certainly would be happy from my assessments of her persona and actions, especially regarding her marriage and loyalty to it (and Judy) if she was a friend of mine, no doubt, she's loyal. Special.

Can't believe someone with his stature, money and connections wouldn't have gotten the best surgeon for face work, the most important thing to a performer.

Timothy Lindman my family runs a trucking company and my father did a lot for entertainers out of Nashville hauling their stage equipment. He did all Kenny’s back in the early 80s late 70s. Dad said kenny and dolly had a lot more than friendship. Let’s just say he walked in at a bad time lol.

It really sucks that people sit there and speculate about things that are none of their business. I lost the best friendship i ever had because people decided we were having an affair. We spent all of our time together talking about and riding horses. It harmed our reputations and my marriage. Now I don't talk to women at all. It's the reason men and women can't be friends because other people can't separate things out.
@danw60144 жыл бұрын
@catmodelt I'm glad things worked out. My wife was always welcome to spend time riding with us. We never spent time together otherwise except for an occasional lunch together. We were actually working on one of my wife's horses so it was actually important for her to be there. She chose to do other things. We talked a lot. Mostly about horses. I think my wife was thinking I wasn't spending enough time with her. The amount of time I am home has not changed. I just ride my horses by myself. No more problems.

Well said Marianne dolly and Kenny had an unbreakable bond for their music and performance as entertainers. But he loved you as his wife and lover.

I understand that type of relationship Kenny and Dolly had because I had the same with a good friend. From the instant we met as teenagers we knew there was a deep bond which couldn't be explained. He was like a kindred spirit soul mate because we could feel it and understand each other without having to say anything...it came by just looking into each other's eyes. If I left the room we were in he felt empty and vice versa yet both of us had separate family lives. It's was a wonderful feeling every time we met.. however there was a line we didn't or couldn't cross for fear of losing that special and unique connection. It was what it was..a divine connection that crossed over with us as we chose to come to experience life on Earth...and to which will go back with us when we return home. 🙏
