This suffering is not recommended in Islam. It is good that they have sabr but it is not you and me have lost everything, ask those who have undergone the loss . Test does not mean only Muslims undergo suffering in this world .

They haven't imposed this suffering upon themselves. They know it is a test for them. The kind of a test an individual or a group of people gets, is Allaah's decreed will. It is not chosen by the people themselves! May Allah protect us. And every single human being, Muslim or non-Muslim goes through tests/trials in this duniya.
