Oh man, I'm super glad you posted this. I got about 17mpg on my 06 xterra on a road trip from Oregon to California. Tons of mountain road and wind gust, also flying at around 80. Thought it was really low but seems normal now. 👍

Yes sir, I bet that was a beautiful drive man! I was surprised as well, but when you start going 80, your millage drops significantly since it’s a box on wheels lol

@@BuiltTough1776 yeah it was gorgeous. And I did notice that at 65, I was getting more around 18-19mpg.

Thank you for video i have 2005 same color. So you got 14 liters per 100 km, its too much, when speed about 90 km per hour and engine rpm is about 1600-1700 you can get 8.5 liters per 100 km or 28 miles per gallon

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a gas station that big in my life

I’m honestly surprised you got around 17mpg while locked at 85 on the highway. I have an 07 rwd Xterra 5speed auto, 231,000mi. I started tracking my mpg last spring, city driving I get between 16-17mpg. Best I could push city driving was 17.94. That involved rolling for as much of my commute as possible and only using the gas and breaks when I had to. But for me my highway mpg is a bit better than what you ended up with. Last time I was on a long highway trip I locked at 80mph for about 130miles and got 20mpg. This was in southern Indiana with lots of up and down hill. Maybe the mountains or type of tire is the difference? I was expecting you to get better than 17mpg

My 2006 X is an gas sipper compared to the Chevy Avalanche 5.3L it has replaced. After months of internet research before I bought a second gen Xterra, I came to the real world conclusion than all of the 6 cylinder SUVs from 15 or so years back were in the same relative MPG group of 14 to 18. Sure I can drive like I’m saving the planet, but I don’t so I will pretty much always wish I was getting better MPG. I need the power to pull a trailer, I will pay at the pump every time.

Heck yeah man! Still nothing wrong a 5.3 Vortec either

My 05’ Xterra can barley go 150 miles before the fuel light comes on! Thats all city driving too. The most I’ve gone is 200 miles…once. I typically have 5-6 gallons when the fuel light comes. I’m pretty sure the fuel sending unit is acting up and not helping the accuracy. I did calculate my mpg. I’m currently getting 10.5. Absolutely horrid. I’m typically at 100 miles by half a tank…

I have a 2008 Xterra but I lifted it and put 285/76/r16's on it and now I scared to even know what my mpg's are. I'm from Texas by the way, but live in LA now, but lived in Dallas for years.

I drive a Nissan Xterra 4x4 and when my friends ask me what I get for gas mileage I look at them and say what’s gas mileage I tell them it has has the aerodynamics of a cinderblock, and I don’t expect it to get good gas mileage
