Oh man. I never thought I'd show up in a Matpat video of all things. Hello, I am Heidi Sprite. I did the voiceovers for Belinda, Kyle, Felicia, and Michelle for Home Safety Hotline. This was my first time providing my voice for a video game, and I am so incredibly honored that I got to watch you play it before you ride off into the sunset. I am always eager to put my voice out there, so if any project managers out there like what they heard from me, my DMs are always open. I grew up on Game Theory as a kid. I always knew I was in for a good time when a new theory was posted. I also remember being really excited when you first announced film theory. All the nerd kids I hung out with at school were ecstatic. It was all they talked about for weeks. I had a friend who would sit with us at lunch, and he'd always say something like "Guys, Matpat posted a theory about Spiderman!" and we'd all watch it on our lunch break. Matpat, you have truly left my inner child speechless and starstruck. Even if it was just for a moment, I will remember the joy I feel today for many years to come. Thank you for helping to create the many memories I love and treasure so much in my life. ❤

Those are 3 BIG fae no-nos on one entry. Thanking as an acknowledgement of debt (meaning the fae can call on you for any one thing), violating the rules of hospitality (eating without asking, and therefore giving that fae lifelong control of you), and eating fae food (famously so good that you will never again find joy in the human world)

A mouse that is still conscious and aware of what’s going on around them, and who they once were. The smart mouse are *ex-emplyees of the home safety hotline, that have been turned into mice. And they have become to high in numbers, they have been classed as a subspecies of mice.* It also explains the weird emails we get, and why they say to ‘come hide wiht me in this hole.’ They were fired, and now they just love their days as a mouse.

Odds are they had a guest room with a guest phone with it's sole purpose being emergency situations, someone is in the kitchen (where the main phone is). I know guest rooms and having a rooms just for decoration is a GONE concept now. A parent who doesn't want to clean it all the time it is easier to tell the kid not to play in it and dust as needed. The real story is the phone, odds are it was his dad's and his mom wouldn't let them use at is the main phone. 😂

I was worried when I saw the trigger warning but imo there wasn't any, which was a relief. Actually what I find is interesting is that 1. Trypo is one of the phobias that it's better not to admit to bc yes all over the internet people will 100% spam your DMs as soon as they find out BUT 2. trypophobia is extremely contagious. It's like a cognitohazard. The more people flat out don't know it exists the better, and that's wild to me.

Mandela catalogue video dropped while I was watching this disguised as a vine compilation. It was very funny😭. Anyways I’m obsessed with this game so a couple tips for playing in the future: 1. Read ALL new prompts before you answer any calls. Once you put someone on hold, you don’t have a time limit to answer, so take time to read all the info. 2. Take notes of key details for certain hints, those internet outages are no joke. You have no way of looking up the info when it’s out like that 3. Always look at tiny details in the callers’ messages and the information pages. The little details and discrepancies in both caller messages and the database information can make a big difference 4. That missing persons notice from the video clip is important for a later call. It literally describes a false rose bush. I’m not actually 100% sure that’s the correct answer; i think it’s intentional to throw you off but either way it is important 5. Just because the new information is mostly weird creepy stuff, that doesn’t mean it’s always the answer. Sometimes it is as simple as a frosted pipe or carpenter ants Lastly, these aren’t tips but I think that prank caller is some kind of cryptid. I’m not 100% sure and idk what exactly he could be but I think he is. Either that or he’s connected to the weird emails from the ex employee. And, idk how long you plan to play this for, but I know what happens when you get most/all of the answers right (it’s weird asf) but idk what happens when you get everything mostly wrong. I wonder if there’s consequences or a different ending. I just think this game generally has a lot of secrets to unlock, maybe even the employee coupon code’s do something somewhere? (And why does the database info for mice call them worthless??😭 I wonder what the HSH has against mice and what it may have to do with the science video about mouse intelligence). I personally think it sets a dangerous president for horror as it basically says "I wanna be spooked by x and not y." Art has always been about pushing boundaries and it's personally kind of disappointing to see games starting to cave and possibly give up good scares in the effort to appeal to as wide an audience as possible.

And there are also games that are unaccessible when it comes to difficulty levels. For example I've wanted to play games like elden ring and dark souls for years now, but because they are challenging games made for gamers, I and many other more casual gamers can't enjoy them. ​@Leon14000 Games don't need to traumatize people to scare them. It gives people the option to toggle off certain common phobias. There's plenty of spooky things in the game that are outside those parameters. If you don't want/need to toggle those, don't. But it's an accessibility setting. Having something like that is really cool.

Honestly, I am highly reactive to images of clusters of holes (I have trypophobia) and my whole body starts to itch and shiver for the next 1 hour - 3 days, I think *EVERY* game should add a phobia toggle to disable everything that triggers certain phobias as seen in 12:00

lol matpat puts very first caller at the start on hold to look up their problem. at the exact same time it goes to commercial and a guy busts through a wall. almost jump scared me also i've watched 2 people play this game now, both picked black mold for that first person and both were wrong. i guess cockroach knowledge isn't that well known the video with the smart mouse. forgot about that part from the first time i watched a playthrough of this game. this time, and maybe then too, i don't remember. i was thinking, where's kronk with his "squeak skueakity squeak squeaken"
