@@s.o.m.e.o.n.e4247 is there something wrong with that? Also it is obviously not good that parents treat their kids like that. I like discipline but being a prick towards your kids for no reason is fucked up
@s.o.m.e.o.n.e4247 Жыл бұрын
@@andythehandyman472 it’s been in my family for ages. And no, I would not say that parents that do this are a prick towards their children. It’s just that many white parents go extremely easy on their kids compared to a p.o.c. So what I’m saying is that it is normal in a lot of p.o.c. families. But if ppl think that this is “abuse”, they need to get off their high horse and actually stick their head in the world to see what actual “abuse” is.
@s.o.m.e.o.n.e4247 Жыл бұрын
@@andythehandyman472 I also come from a p.o.c. family and my parents immigrated back in the early 2000s. So I was the first daughter of color in family to be born in America. As a girl and now a woman, I wasn’t taken very seriously because my relatives considered guys to have more “respect” even though my family and I think it’s bs. I have had A LOT of pressure out on me to reach expectations and stuff like that. My parents supported me and pushed me to excel and achieve more than I thought I could. Now, I have more achievements both for education and sports than any of my relatives’ sons’ will ever have. Sure they beat my ass MANY times. But I will love them till the end of time and no, that was not abuse as I would consider it. They never like to tell me that they “loved me” because it was uncommon in my household. So ppl may have different versions of what “abuse” may be, but to a lot of p.o.c. ppl, this would not be considered “rude” or being a “prick”.

That's a wild ass statement because I remember getting my ass whooped 3 times for the same thing. The neighbor whooped me and sent me home. Before I got home they called the house and mom was at the door just waiting to light my ass up again. Then dad got home and found out so he got me, too. I never acted up in the neighborhood again.

@@abdulahimabdile6846 I mean, let’s give a realistic example here. A high school boy comes home from a bad day at school to a mother yelling and hitting him. In my opinion the kid is definitely within his rights to shove her away or do whatever he has to do to get her away from him. Just because a person is a parent doesn’t mean they can just be all up in their child’s bubble expecting they are not going to retaliate. They should treat the child like a normal human being who has their own privacy and personal space. If the parent gets offended or punishes the child because they retaliate to their own violence, then that is a bad parent in my opinion. I’ve never been a parent, but this just makes logical sense. Why tf is threatening someone with violence to do something commonplace only in the household eh? Seems like a convenient way to cover up a parent’s bad parenting skills.
