What kind of statue do you prefer, movie or comic.

A piece of film stimulates my senses much more. Not only is it a replica of the character, it is also the music, a moment in time that stays in your mind forever. Every time I look at these pieces it is a mix of audiovisual memories ❤

I'm in the middle, too. Although I prefer realistic pieces, so many times that means film statues. But I love Sideshow's direction of bringing comic characters into their more real world representations. Stuff by the K. Bros and with a lot of Dave Igo influence tend to skew towards realism as well, so I love their art direction and sculpts.

Movie statues only for me. I think comic statues are amazing and that they’re some of the best ones out there. A lot of them are very hard to pass up. But I like movies more than comics, so that’s what I collect. To me, it’s about the emotional connection with the source material.

I prefer movie statues, because I am more into movies thatn comics. Recently I got interested in Batman again so I found out about that many beautiful crafted comic statues. I started collecting with lord of the rings statue so then star wars and now mostly statues from movies that leavend an impact on me!

Good question...As i look at my collection, even my comic statues could really go for movie pieces. Take my LBS Hulk, XM Ghost Rider and so on as they could pass for both. Collect what you love, it don't matter to me.

I prefer film pieces. Not only does it capture a moment in time from when you first saw it and the famous/iconic scene. But just having a Iive action representation is more for filling to me personally. Having film statues is not only cool, but it would make me want to watch their respective films again whilst admiring I have the actors and actresses likeness.

Me personally i prefer the comic book representation over movie. Movie actors come and go and unless i feel like the person that is doing the character is my definitive Batman or Joker etc. i don't won't that actors likeness in my collection.

I prefer comic. The sculpt isn't based on a particular actor likeness. That being said, there are some amazing movie pieces , but the slightest tweak can make or break the likeness.

I collect MARVEL comic 1/4 scale statues. That’s my favorite / focus. Mostly Avengers. But I’m a fans of watching reviews on all types of statues including comic and movies. You can’t have it all so it’s cool to check out pieces I’ll never own but can appreciate from a far

I really like both, but I personally only collect Batman comic book pieces based on specific art work from comic book artists. I don't have that many statues yet, only three so far: Prime 1 Studio Batman, Joker and Catwoman with concept design from Lee Bermejo. I love them! In this hobby we can't buy everything we like, I certainly can't. So therefore focus is very important. There are lots of statues I would like to buy, but can't. If I were rich, I would definitely buy some of those JND statues, specifically Robert Pattinson Batman and Margot Robbie Harley Quinn.

Great Video my man.. Im a Batman Collector and I love the Neil Adams Comic representation of Batman with the Blue and Grey suit... Thats my batman. I own one statue of the comic version but I love the Dark Knight Trilogy with Bale. I own a statue of him to. Like Joker I have The JND Arthur Fleck and The JND Heath Ledger Joker, Also have the Phoenix Joker from Queen Studios and Sideshow comic book version of the Joker. I like certain characters that I may buy different versions of. ALso with the Penguin I love the Prime 1 1/3 version I had to buy him.. So it depends what you are interested in. I am Mostly Batman, Horror and James Bond, though I only got hot toys of 007. Getting the JND wonderwoman hopefully soon in a few weeks, Paid a ton for that but Im all for quality over Quantity, since I dont have much space. Have a great week brother. It could be that the high end movie statues like Catwoman/Joker are out of most peoples price ranges where allot of other statues are not and those don’t get as many views? 🤷‍♂️

I collect film pieces for iconic roles that surpass their comic book counterparts. Example: I collect 89' and comicbook Batman, but not Christain Bale's lame version. I like comicbook Joker and Nicholson version better than Ledgers, so Id collect those instead. Also, movie Iron Man was done so well that it has overtaken comic Iron Man in representation. I would never collect movie Harley Quinn, Aquaman, Transformers, Thanos etc etc...cuz they suck compared to their OG versions.

Maiden Mike, I really like your thoughts and videos. Keep ‘em coming, Daddy-O. For me, I’ve always preferred comic-based statues. That said, I do have some Prime One and Iron Studios statues that pull from the movie versions of characters. Could be that, because I’m a Marvel (not DC) statue collector, the comic versions of statues are best. In any event, I think your collection is cool (but I’d remove the sampler statues above your Moducases ‘cause it detracts from the coolness of the cases and the statues there).
