It takes 10 to 15 years to get a section 8 voucher no matter where you live in the country. That's no joke!

after waiting over 2 months (in IL) for inspections, re-inspections , etc, then got a hostile tenant because she felt her move in was inconveniently delayed…as if I had a choice! Surely would have prefered to get rent for those 3 months. not sure I’m going to let 8 inspect again; too many delays& lost rent and bad attitudes from all involved.

1st time landlord in Illinois dupage has a 2 heart beats per room rule so my tenant has her grown kids and grand kids 8 months in they found her house hold income was more due to her kids working and stopped paying her rent in full and she cant cover he 960 bucks adjustment and her kids outta state she claims sec 8 wont work with her or let her make appointments to adjust her lease 2 remove kids that work

Unfortunately, if the tenant suddenly becomes disqualified from their benefits, that might mean you are forced to evict if the tenant can no longer afford the unit.

@@LandlordAttorney YES BUT IF SEC 8 KEEPS PAYING ME THERE PORTION WHILE THE TENANT DOSE NOT PAY THERE PORTION WILL THAT MESS UP MY EVICTION DO I TELL SEC8 TO STOP PAYING ME? AND REDO THE 5 DAY NOTICE?

YES SHE CAN REMOVE KIDS WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT! I REMOVED MY SON CUZ HE WAS IN ANOTHER STATE N MADE ALMOST 4000 a month! THE ONLY CON IS THAT ONCE REMOVED THEY CAN NOT BE PUT BACK ON UR VOUCHER!

Most Section 8 tenants are TURDS. But I did Section 8 my master efficiency to my brother who needs handicap accessibility. I made it so for him only and he gets the master efficiency with own door and kitchenette etc.

Actually, I've seen a lot of very happy landlords with Section 8 tenants. There are bad ones too, but bad tenants are everywhere.

Once you're done, it can actually be a pretty profitable and stable situation.

Okay. It’s just not my ideal way of making a profit, knowing the money comes from taxpayers and the paying party (whatever agency) has the power above you. I prefer equal negotiating power.

Because you can get up to 30% more than Market Value from Section 8.

Because mostly the houses your buying to rent to section 8 are very cheap it and high FMR…also loop hole can rent microwaves lawn service etc for side $
