Our economy struggling with uncertainties, housing issues, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and pandemic aftermath, causing instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions need urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.

Things are strange right now. The US dollar is becoming less valuable because of inflation, and other powerful nations waking up to trade in their own currencies. Good thing is, a lot of people still turn to the Dollar because of the safety is somehow assures. I'm worried about my retirement savings of about $420,000 losing value because of these factors and more. Where else can we keep our money?

Millions of Americans are grappling with a worsening rental crisis, driven by rising rents, stagnant wages, inflation, and the growing unaffordability of housing. As a result, many are struggling to save, and homeownership-once key to building wealth and ensuring financial stability-is becoming increasingly out of reach for the middle class. The dream of owning a home is fading for more people as the situation worsens.

I'm 62, and rising prices have derailed my retirement plans . I worry that today's economic conditions are more challenging than ever. The stock market's unpredictability, coupled with reduced income and soaring inflation, makes me anxious about having enough for retirement.

Yeah but Africa represents a tiny amount of the global economy, and Africa is not united like Europe. You need to think about growth related to size. USA, China and The EU are so big that 1% yearly growth for them is more money growth than 100% growth for most African countries. Chinas "investments" in Africa have been hit and miss so far, with some countries not being able to pay back debt...

One thing you didn't touch on is that even though regular people only own very little stocks compared to the richest people, most people do still own stocks, in their savings or in their pensions. So while regular people benefit much less from inflating the bubble, they still have a vested interest in keeping it going.

Thank you for your videos.... The current global economy remains challenging, with central banks maintaining higher interest rates to combat inflation, creating tighter lending conditions and slowing consumer and corporate spending. This environment is pressuring sectors like housing, retail, and stocks, while rising unemployment remains a concern. Diversified portfolios, including stocks and alternative assets like cryptocurrencies, are essential for managing risk and volatility, alongside balanced trading strategies. Personally, I’ve grown my portfolio from $130k to $732k in just a few months, thanks to Milton Harper’s exceptional expertise and traditional trading acumen, which have been invaluable in navigating this ever-evolving market.

I think the focus is on the wrong regions and the area to watch as a possible growth spot will be Latin America. Mexico continues to grow and develop its economy and Guyana is also coming more online with their recent resource boom as well as Venezuela slowly opening and increasing its output. The joker in the pack may well be Argentina depending on how the rapid changes under Javier Milei work out but there are already some positive signs with inflation and output figures !!

Ian Goldin is right on the money for me. Europe is this weird mediator between max capitalism (US) and max communism (China) where the former sacrifices everything for profit while second one sacrifices democracy for profit and we are in a historical point in time where we see that both those converge into basically the same thing which is unsustainability. So my prediction not just for 2025 but for the next decade or two is that whoever bets on quality of life and energy independence, less working hours etc will be the long term winter. Two reasons. Governments that sail the opposite way will have to deal with a lot of civil unrest and a lot more frequent "symptoms" that will be popping up in the arms race to higher profit margins. In the meantime we need to prioritise the ending of wars, inequality, racism and injustice.

The fourth turning is here that’s what will happen. Deglobilization, isolationism, war, economic crisis, social unrest etc all part of the cyclical nature of life, economies and world orders. Everything has a beginning and an end, including prosperity. Stagflation will hit western economies hard as all their consumption for the last 40 years was borrowed from the future except the future is here now. Low growth and high inflation mixed with unproductive government spending will eventually cause a revolution or world war and only after creative destruction takes course will we be able to salvage from the recharge and form a new system and world order. Good luck

The Chinese economy is not as precarious as you suggest. It has substantial currency reserves, much of which have been converted to gold, and China has significantly deleveraged from the US market while developing new markets in the global south. 4.8% growth is not recession, and the domestic deflation is a necessary adjustment to inflation caused by a real estate bubble; most Chinese live in their properties, speculators (including institution ones) are due a haircut.
