Bust in 2 years, boom in 22 years, it will change the world a lot but it takes more time. AI is now where computers were in the 60s.

AI is not new, it’s been around since the 60s. LLMs just increased public awareness of its capabilities. You underestimate exponential growth. AI played pong in the 60s, beat Kasparov in chess in the the 90s, played jeopardy in the 2010s, to talking and driving cars in the 2020s.

These talking heads dont get it. As someone who is using AI daily in running projects, I can say it has totally changed what I am capable of doing and my staff are able to learn skills and solve issues which they had no hope of doing previously extremely quickly, and have lost fear of taking on new tasks and problems about which they have no background or training. We are building apps and doing analysis without knowing any coding, my non english speaking staff can understand documents and communicate in English, its amazing! Extrapolate that though all the business processes you have, and factor in the constant progress in ai capabilities, and you have something truly revolutionary.

AI will displace jobs so it is not good for developing countries which have the the problem of unemployment.

My observation: due to AI Hype created by the US (e.g. OpenAI), a lot of funding/investment from around the world has moved to the US. There are 2 possibilities: 1). The current AI (LLM and the likes) are actually a hype. Investors around the world will lose money, but such money has been spent on US talents (thus, tax money for the US government) as well as US companies (e.g. NVIDIA, Cloud Service). ➔ Even a Hype, US citizens, US government benefit from such anyway. 2). The current AI manages to break through AGI (general intel). Investors of course will get a lot of ROI (return on investment). US Citizens and US companies profit from trend. US Governmant will now have "export control" on the tech. We see in either case: US citizens and US companies and US government profit from it (REGARDLESS of AI success or not). The investors around the world, e.g. Middle East rich investors, will lose money in case 1. Question: how is this "fair"?

If you deleted yourself from falling in love with an AI chatbot, you can’t blame Artificial Intelligence so much as lack of your own.

It has been revolutionary. Changes what you're able to do in a short space of time. As close as we are to that scene in the Matrix where we're able to 'download' a skill. That being said, we will need to see the cost come down and be able to run the models locally before it drives economic growth for the majority of the world. Right now, there's a risk of those who gatekeep the models raising their prices just like the streaming services do every year.

AI will be 20% growth for the legal economy and 80% hype. But AI will be 80% growth for the organised criminal economy. Net result for the legal economy - NIL.

These generalists know little. Why not have users from the fields of engineering, law, medicine, and research of all sorts talk about how they are using AI. These guys think they know a lot, just giving speeches.

Looking at the end at 25:00. Suppose the industry of AI will bring jobs; looking at the disassembling of these products, or even the assembling of the products are by hand. Large investments will garner large returns, except to whom? High standard living societies don't rely upon hands on workers that were outsourced. Growing economies in Central Asia or Africa will benefit from these job growths, all while high spending societies will depend upon constant consumption. Like the man says at the end, we must wait and give it more time to see who and where these investments are affecting before regulation. I hope more ppl can realize how AI will affect our daily lives and how fast. Thank you 😊

When AI takes my job, I plan to spend as little money as humanly possible. Multiply that effect by millions - why do you think will happen?
