I love seeing this review. I love gamebooks and Jason Glover's art in his Grey Gnome games on GameCrafter. Have this on my radar because of this review. Thanks for exploring this. There are a lot of modern gamebooks in other kinds of settings; I hope you can explore some more!

@@OneStopCoopShop You might like JD Mitchell's Citadel of Bureaucracy (2023) which is different that traditional fantasy gamebooks. Samuel Isaacson has Escape from Portsrood Forest which is a knight trying to find their way after a rather rough night and I have still not found all the endings, but many ways to die. He also has a sci-fi trilogy I would love to hear a review of. I'd also like to hear more about the Click Your Poison series in a review, too!

Sounds really nice, and creative use of the dice! Another good one of this kind, with a comic book format and a great time system (so you can't explore forever) is Captive.

Haven’t heard of that. Sounds cool!

Love this new review approach of anime, PnP, books, etc. Probably wont be your MOST watched videos, but I hope it catches on. And more importantly I hope you like it. I tried about 12 different PnP games (4AD, Ker Nathalas, 2D6, etc) but nothing really connected with me unfortunately.

I have another anime review coming next week. I don’t plan to do more than 1 every 2-3 weeks. Gotta keep the channel focused on board games. But glad you are enjoying it!

Oh! There's also a PnP on PnP Arcade :) thx for the review!

Oh nice, that’s a good option

That seems a reasonable cost, too.

Aside from Spires End (which maybe doesn't count), I haven't played any choose your own adventure in a long time. Would you recommend this one or another one more?

This is the only new one I’ve played. All my other experience is from games that are 20-30 years old or more 😅😅😅

Have you played the legendary kingdoms books? They are the best gamebooks I have read. Would love to see a 5 in 5 for them

Haven’t heard of these. I looked it up and it looks like the last Kickstarter is having issues delivering. Is that right?
@erikpeters70726 ай бұрын
@@OneStopCoopShop yeah they just got bought by another company and finally book 3 should deliver. Now they are planning for the last 3 books. But book 1 and 2 are readily available although maybe things are different now that there's a new company taking over

You are right, may as well just jump into Lone Wolf series or other many existing gamebooks for the full narrative experience. No reason to pick this one up really.
@OneStopCoopShop6 ай бұрын
Well that’s overly harsh. I love that there are new game books coming out. You’d rather people play existing books and never write another one? 😅😅😅
