I don't have a car and I would fall off a bicycle, so my brother bought me a tricycle. It has a motor and can be used as with or without the motor. It has front and back baskets and I'm also going to add a trailer on it for bugout purposes. Thank you from Australia

Afternoon JR. A good prep for an EMP strike, fire extinguishers. Many items that are plugged in during an EMP will catch fire.

@@emilybalzano792 great for the smaller stuff, but possibly tv, icebox, freezer, ac, all big appliances....gonna be a big surge...also, your breaker box catching house on fire. Could be all, any or none, but there will be fires.

Why not just turn off all power to house at the breaker box?

Hello J.R. I have been following you and several other preppers that I have learned to trust, THANK YOU!. I am a single mother with a differently able adult daughter and we have been prepping for years now. We can not afford the fancy things like you have, yet I do know a little something-something. Thanks to you and others that I am following, I have learned alot, please keep up the good works that you are doing.

Very good vid. Like to add my 2¢ worth @ 14:20: light discipline. Like most homes, we have a rather large picture window aimed at the street. It has modest curtains. Above my washing machine, I keep several black spray paint cans for the express purpose of creating a blackout on said window. Old trick from WWII in Great Britain. On another note, we went with Anker for solar generator, which is used to power our off-grid cabin. Being a small, 400 sq ft outfit, the generator is only about 12 feet from our bed. The Anker is quieter than the others we looked at. Hardly notice it at all when the cooling fan comes on.

Good information as always, J.R.! Today I found my rain water catchment system was *very* low, due to lack of rain (duh!) so I broke out my portable pump and 500 watt Jackery to refill the main barrel from my dug well. DAMN, though - that lid is HEAVY!! LOL Harvested garlic and planted winter squash today, too. Stay well, brother!!

Those large transformers are considered a capital expense and their acquisition is typically planned at 5 to 10 years in advance of the projected need. China is a major supplier of large transformers.

Thank you JR for you Survival Informational Series. An EMP that would be take Effect on most of the United States would eliminate half of the Population with in months. Most of the younger cannot live without their modern conveniences . The Older Generation that has Survived the Depression, that are still alive, would be the New Generation!

Thanks JR, for the reminder. Losing electricity for a long-term period is my biggest fear. An EMP will put us back 200 years. I have several medium-sized solar generators, but an EMP will throw the US into panic. I'm going to make a Faraday trash can soon. 🇺🇸

Also think solar storms. A big one could do us in much like an EMP.
@kimberlywilliston44745 ай бұрын
And I don’t think a faraday cage would help either. A solar flare from what I hear is going to take all electrical items out no matter what you do.

JR, I was just wondering if storing a Faraday trash can container in a metal barn instead of my wood/rock house would be best? Thanks, Mary in Oklahoma. 🇺🇸

Hello Mary! It couldn’t hurt. Even though a metal building isn’t sealed as well as a faraday cage it may reduce the energy a little.
