I weigh 220lbs and have the 5'4. I love floating on the board sometimes in the lake. I am thinking of ordering a second board the 4'9. Do you think this board size would still hold me when just relaxing on it?

You can for sure handle the 4'9" it is more about throttle than board size once you're proficient with getting up and foiling as I'm sure you're aware. We can get you on a Lift4 or the older Lift3 just shoot us a note via text or email. 281-508-6485 Thank you for the comment!

The 49 will still float you but barely. try light battery to save an extra 7 lbs

Curious? Did you end up buying the 4'9? I am also 220 and want to get my first one and don't want to buy too big and regret. Also on the 4'9 could I still get my kid sitting up on the nose he is 6 years old. Also pairing the lift 4 with the Blowfish will help me go down to the 4'9???

@@TriBlendMedia I have the Lift3 5'4 and the Lift4 4'9. It was WAY easier for me to learn on the 5'4". It took about 10 falls on the 5'4 to begin riding it nicely. The 4'9" took another 10 rides. Honestly the 5'4 will be easier with a kid. I cannot speak for the blowfish as I have yet to try it. Perhaps the 4'9 with the blowfish will work but there will be less surface area to stand for the both of you. I would honestly recommend doing the 5'4 board if you are looking to ride two people with stability! Hope this helps!

I'm 230lbs and demoed a 5'4 with 250 wing. The board felt small. I was thinking 5'9 board with 250/48 wing set. What do you think? I'm looking for cruiser. The SUV of efoils, not the sportscar version.

In reality all of these efoil boards are small...5'9" is by no means big. We do sell 5'9" boards but usually people shoot for the 5'4" at the largest for the ease of travel in the car etc. I'm a huge fan of making things easy so if clients have a tough time getting up or have a large amount of people they are getting on their efoils the larger board makes sense. If you think the 5'9" is right for you then go for it! I have customers who bought the 6'2" length E2 version from us a few years ago and are still riding and loving it. I have a 5'9" in blue and maybe one in white also. Let us know...281-508-6485 Thank you for the comment

@@philmidler1502 Thanks. I was leaning towards the 300/48 wing combo. I am a beginner and I want this process to be as easy as possible. I don't care about fast turning or agility. Slower reaction would actually be a benefit. My only concern is the battery life. It isn't great to begin with. Have you compared the 250 to the 300? Is there a noticeable difference in battery life. For comparison, my wake foil is about 2100cm2 which is larger than the Lift 300 wing. My reasoning for the 5'9 board was that the 5'4 just felt small, but this was my first time on an efoil. Given there isn't a huge difference between the two, I'm sure I would get used to the 5'4. I see your point about traveling with the board, but still leaning towards the 5'9 for the little added length and buoyancy.

@@richardcarlisle6692 Richard, I'm a Lift owner in Tacoma WA. My concern with your 5.9 decision is Will you get bored in the near future? Yes, these first few days are easier and maybe more fun, but the question here is Will you be forever happy with "zen-like" cruising? Or will you be searching for swell riding in a month or two? I have a 5' and honestly there are days when I want more aggression on chasing wakes and carving. Just a thought

@@philmidler1502 Total agreement! Lift guys are all very good riders. These boards are very small in length AND floatation given. I'm 235 lbs and the 5'4" won't float me above water. Makes it a lot harder to learn, but it's workable. If it ever broke down and I had to paddle it home on my belly it would be a REAL b*****. I believe the 5'4" is 77L of float, which is crazy low. My windsurfer is 150L and my paddleboards (inflatable) are 275 and 325L!!

@@richardcarlisle6692 Same weight, have the 300/250HA/200 and 48/38 tails. DO the 300/48! Easy peasy to learn on and still lots of fun for most riders until you get pretty darn good and want to go faster. At first speed seems amazingly fast so it takes awhile before you want to fly at top speed. Many of us will never move beyond the big wings I think. Flatwater lake rider here. Other advantage of the big wing is you can ride boat wakes easily. Can't do that with the little wings. I wish I'd gotten the 5'9" but I had to have one and bought in stock versus waiting 1/2 the summer to order one. (2 years ago) There are always going to be guys needing wings and not wanting to pay 1k so I'm guessing used wings will have a ready market.

I’m 180 lb, I’d like to carve and surf, but also the possibility of riding tandem with my young kids. Is it too much if a stretch to use the 4’9” tandem with young kids?

How do you fly with a battery?

Ship it via UPS ground (no airplanes) and it can just go in a normal box. If you're sending it somewhere oversees you will need to ship it in a Zarges case via air service. There is no way to get the Efoil battery on a commercial passenger plane.
