Not always possible to keep the cars. Take the Tesla Model S for example. In horizon 3, we had the Tesla Model S, but not in 4. We had Toyota return to Horizon 4 after a while. It's not because of the devs most of the time, it's about licenses.

Forza horizon 4 was an amazing game and the first one I've played, now every time i play it the nostalgia hits me hard

I actually ended up enjoying FH4 a lot more than I thought I would. Something about the game felt so complete. It had what FH3 had but improved upon them and while some of those features were removed, it still had added a lot more than removed. Then there’s the map which didn’t feel almost like a battle royale map (FH5 for example) and remained decently consistent all around. I started playing around late 2018-early 2019, so I was introduced to a better version of FH4 and didn’t get the bugs people were talking about. Anyway, I actually grinded this game a lot, nowhere near as much as FH3 though, yet still a lot more than I have with FH5 so far. Lastly there the seasonal changes which made me appreciate the map in different ways. Ik a lot of people hated having seasons for a week, especially winter, but I made the best out of each season. Also the highway and how insane cars sounded in those 2 tunnels. Til this day I think cars sounded the best speeding through those tunnels. Funny how FH4 is when cars sounded the absolute worst, but these tunnels made u think otherwise. That map felt the most aesthetically pleasing out of the last 3 Horizon titles imo. I miss it a lot. Matter of fact imma go reinstall it

Why is nobody mentioning the fh4 pause menu? I loved that menu so much, compared to fh5, the fh4 menu is so much better. For example, they got rid of the weather and radio sections. And many other things were moved to another tab of the menu in fh5. I really hope fh6’s menu will include some of these features i liked so much!

This is my first Forza game. And I really love it. As someone who lives in a tropical country, I really like the cooler place of FH4 than warmer Mexico in FH5. Plus in FH4 each season have a distinct vibe. In FH5 I feel like all seasons is the same.

FH4 was where it all started for me! From live streaming, to joining communities, to covid lockdown gaming, to meeting amazing people online and organising epic races and fun cruises. FH4 will always remain one of the best to me and I don't think any other FH game will top that. I still play the game to this day, and highly prefer the location and map over FH5. There are more carparks for meets and the roads provide some fairly realistic cruises. There is even neat little off-road paths that aren't on the map. The other thing for me personally, it feels better on my wheel setup in my opinion than FH5, it's more challenging and I like that. Each to their own, as I know people struggled on the wheel with this game. Great video as always, cheers! 🍻

FH5 taught us how bad a launch can be. , for the first month or so I couldn't complete the playlist as finishing a championship (and winning) or stunt would not trigger the playlist, I still don't get double FP from owning the house (don't really care anymore as I have more than I can spend), and now since the rally expansion, every time I launch it resets the radio to that new wretched assault on the ears they added. It has gotten better but it sure was (and to some extent still is) a hot mess of a game, makes FH4 launch problems look like finely polished marble in comparison.

PGR2 was one of the first racing games I've ever purchased as a kid for the original XBOX... and then for many years I completely forgot bout consoles & gaming in general. Funny enough I've started to play videogames once again starting with FH4 and for the whole time I thought I was tripping. Just checked the Edinburgh circuit in PGR2, I'm blown away. They've brought the exact copy of that circuit to FH4, it just misses the racing curbs

This game was truly special with its atrociousness, though it was a sign of things to come. As you said, many design decisions in Horizon 4 were simply better and more player-friendly than in Horizon 5, even I as an avid hater of FH4 cannot deny that. It's the nonsensical changes from Horizon 3 to 4 that made 4 as horrible as it was, the sudden shift in direction from catering to people interested in cars, to now catering to people uninterested in cars knowing that they will play the Gamepass game. Things could've been much better if the creators listened to dedicated players and fixed the stuff they broke in FH4, but of course it didn't happen and we got FH5.

I do not see anyone being Nostalgic for FH5, maybe for Rally Adventure...but not for the main Game. FH4 is a *Good Game* with Rough Edges, People just hated it because it followed a *great* Game in FH3 and a *Masterpiece* in the Xbox One Version of FH2, so it was a pretty big fall from standard (I blame Mike Brown, he was clearly *Unsuitable* for the Role of CCD (Chief Creative Director) for Horizon, as he was not and is not a Car enthusiast, he is a battle royale enthusiast! Utterly *Unsuited* for the Role and I am glad that he has gone and can do no more damage to the Series now!) and that Upset a Lot of People. Forza Horizon 5 however was and is a *Genuinely Bad Game* , sadly, it took that for a lot of People to see past 4's Rough Edges and see that it is, indeed, a *Good Game* at its Core! Fortunately, it looks like, so long as Torben Ellert (the new CCD) has the guts to tell Microsoft where to get off the Bus with all the Live Services Nonsense and their Tendency for Releasing Games when they are still in *Pre Beta* (both things that did *immense* Damage to FH5 (and to FH4 also in the Case of "Pre Beta Launch") I think we can all agree) , rips the Live Services out and ensures it is not Released until it is done, FH6 could well be a Return to the Standards set by FH2 and 3.

The main thing that annoyed me about fh4 is the car sounds, I genuinely hated every car I drove in that game that wasn't an M5 E60, LFA and Audi R8. Also the missing 1 mile and the bad highway that didnt allow us to max out our cars. But it has something that fh5 doesnt have and that is more soul into it, it has a big city, more castles, beauty spots which fh5 lack. I was really hoping that fh5 would improve a lot from fh4 but sadly that wasn't really the case...really happy with the last few updates though

I loved FH4. I felt like the odd one out here. Everyone was shitting on the game and I was the only one praising. Opinions of the game only started to change when FH5 came out. Minus the car sounds it was perfect. (Map was good, physics were brilliant). This game was severely underrated. I had over 140 days played on it. I feel the reason why forza horizon 4 is held up to such a high regard (myself included) was because a whole generation of kids grew up on it as forza horizon 4 was the first ever game most kids my generation at the time would have bought if they were even remotely into cars, their first chance to ever express themselves in their cars though fictional it was everything to 14 year old me. And now as this generation of kids myself included grows into young adults with real cars we look back to forza horizon 4 and thank it for giving us such a fun childhood. And that's why forza horizon 4 will always hold a special place in my heart.

Forza horizon 4 had a lackluster release but got better overtime never really liked the gameplay style as I was used to fh2 and fh3 but 4 quickly grew on me and they kept updating the game monthly which obviously kept it relevant and not to mention the transition when finishing a race and pausing the game that really blew my mind away the multiplayer was rigged but fun and season transitions were beautiful. This game was ahead of its time and there is no denying it I am surprised that more people are playing it today that's how much of a influence 4 had and really introduced more people to the horizon series.

FH4 to me is what FH5 was to a lot of people, a rude awakening to the fact that the franchise has lost its way and was more concerned with metrics to please the corporate overlords vs actually building a good game. All the problems people blasted FH5 for at launch were present in FH4 at launch and it was a similar step backwards for the franchise in a lot of ways. It was the game where many of the beloved game modes (FFA playground games and custom championships) died and didn't return from FH3 and the devs doubled down on the games as a service nonsense with tons of cars being locked away behind the festival playlist. FH4 may be better than FH5, but that's not saying much given how far both games have fallen from their predecessors.

Forza 4 has been a nightmare i loved it when i was doing stuff for qualifiers after that all the races just felt repetitive and omg the fricking turning i do not care if its realistic it is absolutely an awful experience to have to slow down to turn but also risk spinning out when slowing down and i dont like that i have to do multiplayer stuff for the season challenges why would anyone want to wait 10-20 mins for a race or something i never got to it because it took too long

Im kinda weird when it comes to FH4, i spend hours playing this game having alot of fun. But since FH5 is out, i cant play it anymore. The engine sound feel so plain and annoying, and the cars handling is also really bad in comparison to FH5. I will never go back, just becuase how driving feels, its just unsatisfying and plain to play now since i know FH5, FH4 also kinda feels so dead idk. But such a great title. For FH6 id love to see something like FH2, italy was so fresh and nice. Id love to have this back again. AND I WANT ALFA ROMEO PLEASE PLAYGROUND GAMES

Currently reinstalling FH4 as I type because as much (among many other things) online racing was dogshit and progression was bloated with hats and horns, there was just something so beautiful about organic interactions you'd experience in freeroam that I feel FH5 never established and likely never will.

talking about fortune island totally unplayable on AMD GPU total visual bug show mainly happenes in winter and autumn in winter pretty much all the time it's broken and for autumn when it's raining I bought it when it was in sale and I sometimes play it and it's brutal on cpu when pushing 165+ fps (165-210) on ryzen 5600 with bit of PBO it can use 70-100% but I like the game the map feel's bigger then FH5 sometimes I like specialy the winter season

FH4 was the last EXCELLENT Horizon. FH5 just launched into a steaming pile of shit. But with the old team gone, and new and better content and updates coming, hopefully FH5 can claim its “excellent” status by the time FH6 releases for us NEXT GEN users.

It's a shame the X/S version does not feel like the X1 version at all imo. As a result, the visuals make the physics feel different. As some one who played FH4 for more than 1,000 hrs...I can tell the difference. I regret sellingy One S because I honestly don't like it on X/S. Just mu opinion

They already did . It's called treasure map in fh4 and fh5 which cost 3 or 5 dollar .
