What Made Smackdown vs Raw 2007 So GREAT? (A Look Back At Smackdown vs Raw 2007)
Sup ya’ll in today’s video I’m gonna be going back and taking a look at what many consider to be the greatest wrestling game of all time, Smackdown vs Raw 2007. Smackdown vs Raw 2007 is a game that’s looked back on very fondly by everyone who grew up with the game and after spending a bit of time with it over the past few days, it’s definitely easy to see why. Now unfortunately I didn’t grow up with this game as I had Smackdown vs Raw 2011 instead, which as good of a game as that was, it has NOTHING on Smackdown vs Raw 2007. SvR 2007 really set a high bar for all the wrestling games that were released after it. The gameplay, the soundtrack, the modes, everything about this game was just awesome. This and SVr 2006 are my favorite SVr games and wrestling games next to Wwe 2k15 on next gen and 2k14 love Gm mode in SVr 2007 best of series so far

They did the grapppling system correctly. They had 4 different animations for initial grapples. Knee to gut, front face lock, arm wringer and collar and elbow tie up In WWE 2K they only have that collar & elbow tie up and its so unrealistic. That tie up is only done in the beginning of matches irl.

It's not very unrealstic at all.most wrestlers just go into grapple lock like wwe2k24 .the others are optional and barely happen

@@wingedhussar1453 No. Collar & Elbow is only done in the beginning of matches as a battle of positioning and test of strength. When both wrestlers are NOT dazed and willing to engage. To perform a lock up when a Wrestler is dazed or hurt makes 0 sense. Because BOTH have to initiate it at the same time. The other ones happen a lot when they wanna set up a move or they wanna move a wrestler somewhere else. Im not sure what you've been watching. I'd just rather pop off the moves without an initial grapple but SvR07 gives you more options atleast. Since WWE 2K22 I actually use the combo system to do my moves because it's more realistic than collar n elbow and flows better. If these games didn't have a workaround I wasn't gonna buy.

You left out how you can customize your locker room and the challenge mode in the locker room by the bar.

If u had your Svr 07 PS2 disk you can play it on your ps3

What? Only the first PS3s were bc. It would be stupid to buy a console on release, especially back in the day for 600 bucks... So the majority probably could not play that on a PS3 and just play it on a good old PS2.

I was fortunate enough to find this game last Saturday July 6th 2024 and luckily it works. Oh forgot to mention where i got it,a flea market and i got a kxller deal ! and a SvR 06

To this day this is probably the wrestling game I put the most time into. I had the 360 version so the reason I played it for so long is because there were so many loading screens 😅 Seriously though I absolutely loved this one. I think 2006 might have actually been cohesively a better game. Probably had a better roster and less drawbacks. But for me I loved actually playing this one on the newer generation of hardware at the time and the newer features like the moves you could perform at any time. I believe they called them ultimate control moves. Where you could pick everyone up and do like a chokeslam or a power bomb or a suplex or whatever

I kind of look at this game and that time in wrestling in general with rose colored glasses. We still had Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels and undertaker still around, TNA was starting to really take off, in WWE hadn't gone PG yet. Naturally this game came out during those times, so it became my favorite. It was senior year of high school, and me and my buddies would always play it after school. Later entries may have been better technically, but they just didn't have the same feeling as 07 and prior had.

I like WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007. It's the reason why I bought the Xbox 360 (RIP Xbox Live Arcade in two weeks). However, the only thing that I had trouble with is the reversal system since you have to press the reversal button at the right time. Otherwise, the wrestler will do his move. Thank you, Yukes, for making one of, if not, the best wrestling series of all-time, WWE Smackdown vs Raw. 😅

I think ppv mode was just way tto ahead of its time in a bad way. You add ppv mode to WWE 2K24 and it will be perfect but eith the limitations of customization and characters to choose from it just doesn't work in SVR 07

Idk i had the ps2 version which didnt feel anything difeent compared to svr 2006 . If anythhgk g maybe worse then svr2006

Amazon's the way to go if you wanna get this game physically anymore. $40 for a renewed copy last time I checked. Still not great but I think its the best you're gonna get price wise
