@@OffendEveryoneImmediatelyit’s fucking stupid what they did to the franchise. They said they rebooted the franchise to take the good and ignore the bad from the classics. I ask them “what good did they take from the classics”? Vehicles have less features. No modes from the classics are in the reboots besides heroes vs villains. No planetary specific reinforcements. No classes, don’t even say the classes in bf 2017; they have as much team-play as call of duty. The only thing they kept from the classics was the shitty gunplay.

Great video Swany. I never was able to play the originals on my 360 for a while because it wasn’t backwards compatible but when I finally did it was a dream come true. Then I wasn’t able to play Battlefront 2015 because I didn’t have an Xbox One. But Christmas of 2017 I did get one along with Battlefront 2 and I played the crap out of it. That year was also when I got my first smartphone and you were the first person I found and subscribed to on KZbin. I made a lot of memories playing Battlefront 2, along with it carrying me throughout high school, and have enjoyed all of your videos. Now I’ve been graduated for a couple of years and I just don’t know where the time has gone. I’d kill for a new Battlefront as I think it would be a great thing for gaming in general. Hopefully in the near future it gets its triumphant return once again.

Battlefront 2 came out on my 8th birthday. My parents got it for me that morning, and I spent thousands of hours playing over and over again. I stopped playing pretty much every other game for years.

I grew up on the first two Battlefronts on Playstation 2 (which I still own today) and loved them. They actually introduced me to the Battlefield series since all I heard was it's "Battlefield with a Star Wars skin" so that lead me to branching out to other games. While the game's visuals and gunplay is kind of clunky but the actual content the games had is what made them legendary in my opinion. I didn't have internet back in the day so I too remember making "rivals" with the NPC's. I forgot about Nom Carver (my dumbass kid always called him "Dom" for some reason) and it was neat to see he came back in the reboot (which I never played). Fun little side note: the PSP Battlefront games were actually built from the cancelled Battlefront 3. From what I've read, the studio that made them was originally going to pick up development for BF3 after it was initially shut down. So they picked it up then their version also got cancelled for console release and ended up just making the PSP games before they too were shutdown.

Thank you for this video. I did not play the original Battlefront games, so I was introduced to Battlefront by EA's Battlefront 1 (2015). I might be in the minority, but I preferred Battlefront 2015 to Battlefront 2. Battlefront 2015 is still the most immersive game, I ever played. The overall trooper gameplay was a little bit faster in terms of movement and I actually preferred the Power-Up system. The battle point system sounds better on paper, but the regular trooper gameplay looses a lot of charme, because all you do is collecting battle points. The classes are there, but they are not distinct enough. There's no templay, aport from the Officer's battle command. Healing was literally present in BF 2015 with the bacta bomb. So I preferred the gameplay. Map design: Battlefront 2015 was DICE's peak in terms of map design and visual fidelity. The photogrammetry based map design led to such amazingly detailed maps. That coupled with the lighting, that literally was based on the photo-scans of the location's of the Original trilogy led to the best lighting system, I saw in any video game before raytracing and pathtracing were introduced. Not only the locations, but all the props of the OT were photo-scanned to recreate the models after them and the pay-off was and is so worth it. Battlefront 2015 has indeed much higher texture quality than Battlefront 2 (if you open the textures in a Frostbite Manager). The resolution of the console versions was lowered to 720p (XBox One) and 900p (PS4). Battlefront 2 has not only lower texture quality, but the new lighting system is also inferior to BF 2015. All of the effects (explosions, partical effects) are more detailed and vibrant in Battlefront 2015. Coupled with that, the sound design: Battlefront 2015 has probably my favorite sound design in a game (together with Battlefield 1) before Hunt Showdown came out. All the audio mixing is just spot on, crisp, clean. It was the first game, that has a Dolby Atmos option. The ambience itself is audible. Many maps in BF 2 are almost quiet. The layers of reverb of the blasters are beautiful. All of those little audible details are not present in Battlefront 2. Battlefront 2 sounds good, no doubt, but the entire mixing is inferior to BF 2015. The maps were so well designed. Walker Assault is a linear game mode, yes, but the objective placement made it feel non-linear: Two uplinks positioned far apert with the teams needing control of both. The game modes were built into the photogrammetry based maps. In BF 2, Galactic Assault literally called for linear maps. All GA maps are long hallways, that just don't feel "real". Even the GA maps, that were ported to (Capital) Supremcy can not hide their linear design. These are just my opinions. With the initial marketing, I just expected more from Battlefront 2, but they had to go for quantity over quality to some extent in BF 2. The distinct Star Wars feeling was there in BF 2015. The feeling was so intense (as I felt it) that the only other thing, that could convey it, was the OT itself.The amount of love, that was put into BF 2015 literally transported a part of the soul of the Original Trlogy into Battlefront 2015 and this atmosphere, that is present is something, that most other first-person shooters are not able to provide.

Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this video, especially as a fellow battlefront die hard (I was 14 when the first game came out which ages me!). Your channel was actually one of the first I subscribed to when I was looking for information about BF2. In terms of feedback, I would say not much to improve on imo. Keep leaning into that nostalgia, a great channel I like for their similar video essays is Flandrew so always worth checking others out and picking up what works and what doesn't (I like hearing a background music, maybe the one you have used in the past on other videos of your?) But yeah keep it up and maybe one day we will finally get a battlefront game with the number 3 on it 😂

Some issues with BF2015: Splitting the player base by making you pay for the new maps. The Lando glitch that made him a blaster god and the months it took them to fix it. Leaving Bossk in a broken state with his health on kill trait that let people rake up huge killstreaks. BF2 Issues: Never nerfing the Jet Troopers by at least taking away the splash damage from their blasters. Never giving the heroes an effective way of fighting back against vehicles.

The og Battlefront 1 and 2 were soooo good online. I AM having fun getting all my heroes/villains leveled up and the rest of my trooper guns and attachments. I got all purple cards for my favorite characters and never bothered to get the rest lol....until last month. I just got Palpatine purple carded, and anakin/lando/obi wan are on their way to purple cards. Then it will be Boba/Leia/Han who i work on. I think the new one needs a time limit on heroes/villains. I got my Vader unlocked in less 20hours...more like 3, i got all the heroes unlocked before the first update...through gameplay. I had my troopers all purple carded before the update as well. I literally just purple carded Palpatine and blue carded lando/anakin in 2 weeks of 2 hrs a day of co-op.

My adventure with Star Wars started with original Battlefront 2 and then intensified when I started playing ea Battlefront 1. I also play ea battlefront 2 from time to time, which is ok but... The worst thing is that ea Battlefront 2 was left in a poor condition. Abilities that don't work or get stuck, a block that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, and it's a pity that this game wasn't finished, they could have added some more weapons, new maps and, above all, the heroes Ahsoka and Ventress. The development of Battlefront 2 looked as if the creators wanted to add content related to the Clone Wars, but at some point ea decided that it was time to slowly end support, so they added these idiotic balls and scarif and that was it. There's nothing like abandoning two games, Battlefront 2 and Battlefield V, to create one game and such a failed piece of shit as Battlefield 2042, at least we can laugh at these idiots.
