That coach who stopped the training session after Paim scored an incredible goal... what a way to signal to a kid that he's above the team and only he matters! No wonder he thought he could do no wrong.

To be fair, CR7 has a lot of talent, but I also believe there are more then enough players that had the talent to get to his level. The thing is, and thats where I have so much respect for CR7, CR7 gives it all to be on his level. Every moment of every day of every year he does everything he can to care about his body to perform. The (extra) amount of training, his food and nutrition routine, his rest routine, the amount of commitment he shows is insane. That's exactly why CR7 is one of the most inspiration people in football imo. Never heard of Paim actually, very interesting and sad story.. But I feel like footballers, especially nowadays, are much more busy with external factors outside football then they used to be, like sociale media, clothes, women, making music, going out etc which influences the level these players will get at. And I get it completely, don't get me wrong, being a young guy and suddenly very rich and a wellknown person it's gonna be hard to not get distracted by things like that. The only thing that is sad, is the waste of talent. Especially since in sports on that level minor percentages can make all the difference.

I totally agree. We see this in all sports unfortunately.
