Thanks for the great video! I recently started playing wow with a more serious mindset, and i have been playing fire mage because it was the most fun to me and felt so satisfying. But I think I will try out frost mage, since I have never played that spec and it seems to be looking good next patch!

This was the video to convince me to switch specs again. I played frost for the past 10 years and thought I'd do myself a favor by learning a new spec, but always slightly regretted it. Not that I hated fire but it just didn't feel like it fit my mage's personality. Back to Frost it is!

Thank you so much for taking your time to help others. My only issue is I have no idea what you're talking about. I assumed this was for beginners so things would be explained. Like what is cleave, funnel, uptime spec, etc. Thank you again for making the video.

Hey! Sorry you’re right this isn’t aimed at very beginners, I apologise for all the jargon! Cleave means when you hit a target and your spells hit another target nearby, aka how splitting ice works. Funnel means when you have a lot of targets around your main target, you gain more damage to your main target through these other mobs around it. Uptime spec means it’s a spec that needs to constantly be dealing damage and casting in order to keep up its damage. I hope this clears up some things! If you’re new you don’t need to worry about anything in this video, you can play what you like! This is more of a high end competitive video

I just switched frost to prepare for 9.1. I am doing more M+ than raiding right now, the playstyle is so different. whenever I look at the damage meter there is nothing to write home about, but the overall at the end of the dungeon is quite decent.

Hi, love your videos. Gave me tons of information about my frosty! Just a quick question. How is it you get your icy veins back so fast? I have a 184 ilvl conduit which is 0.98 seconds per crit iirc. And when I use on adds to clear I normally still have around 1 min 30 seconds or so remaining. Thanks

In lower keys mobs die faster which means less resets for you. Tanks also tend to pull smaller packs. You can frost nova the pack when orb is out and those crits will count towards icy propulsion!

What's your thought on fae frost for m+? I think it's the most versatile with more blizzards, orbs and interrupts. Also, in case I need to play fire for some dungeons, I don't lose out too much of my covenant choice.

NF is decent for frost in aoe situations, although you do miss out on the ST from venthyr. It’s a tough call, and in these situations convents are a pain. If you’d like to see the standings of covenants yourself you can see here- cteer458.github.io/mage-sims/?spec=frost&graphs=soulbinds&targets=1

At first I was kinda bummed about the news but honestly they aren't that noticeable. I tried frost and it was too slow, arcane was a bit faster but I still prefer fire. Getting crits and insta casting fireballs and burning everything is fun to me

I played Boomie in 9.0 and 9.05 up to +21 keys. I met a Mage main with about 2.800 Rio who told me he will stay fire with his mage friends cause: 1) the 25% dps overall nerf doesnt matter if you‘ve been always 25% over second place in dps 2) Fire mage has still lower cooldown on burst than frost mage even with combust nerf so in high keys he gets way more dps out. Also there is an icy veins analyse that tells fire Mage will be s tier in 9.1 (mythic plus)

It's too early to say for sure but it's speculated that frost/arcane will be meta over fire

The 33% is a soft cap, as in, you ideally don’t go above it. It’s not a goal or requirement! I would suggest watching my frost guide on my channel as it covers a lot, might be helpful!
