What Makes a Film a "Guilty Pleasure?"

You’re welcome. Despite being critically panned, THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY won the Oscar for Best Original Song (“Last Dance”). The song “Blues in the Night,” from the movie of the same name, is a classic. The TIMES SQUARE soundtrack is a knockout. Musically, there is a lot going on with these films. :)

It really is. I was thrilled to find it. Ernest Haller did some beautiful things with this film as DP.

Heyyyy, "FM" isn't a guilty pleasure, it's a good film!

I agree, though I have not seen it in years. However, it has a 6.4 rating on IMDb, 20% on Rotten Tomatoes (62% from fans), and Maltin gives it 2.5 stars.Like I said, most of these films aren't *bad*, per se, I just like them a lot more than I "should" based upon critical/cinephilic ratings. You may define "guilty pleasure" differently, and that is cool.
