ppl who complain about that, aren't from big cities. I was born in NY but I don't consider myself one because I moved away when I was 2. But I've lived mainly in big cities (Shanghai, Taipei, Chicago, SF, and Oakland). In a big city, you mind your business because you recognize that stopping and making a deal about something is so much bigger, because there's a bigger audience. Also, you don't chitchat in public spaces or with service folks, because you're holding up the line, adn therefore being rude to other ppl outside your conversation. But if anything happens, NY'ers always pull up. Just cuz they're "minding their own business" doesn't mean they're not aware of what is going on, and they'll immediately jump in to help you.

what about the Central Park? because i'm curious to see the ecosystem in there and ponder how it's able to hold itself as the last bastion of green wilderness in a seas of concrete wilderness (that and i think that's prolly the only thing my mom would be interested in while i wanna go to as many art or science museums as i can).

Maybe to some people but I can ALWAYS tell a native-born from someone who isn’t. I was born and raised in Boston but many of my close camp and college friends are Manhattanites. On another note I very much enjoyed Cleveland during my visit. It was the first stop on a 25 day road trip from Boston to Los Angeles. I was only in the city for 42 hours. However I was out and about for 26 of them. I saw quite a lot of your hometown. I’ve spent 3 years of my life abroad and I’ve visited 41 states. That being said I can safely say Cleveland is a very underrated city.

Most New York thing I’ve ever experienced? Recently I found out that my local neighborhood bagel shop in Riverdale is closed on Saturdays because they’re Orthodox Jews, so I waited until Sunday to get my bagel with lox. That is a very New York thing. 😂

Dulce Sloan is the worst correspondent to sit at that desk in the past 25 years. She's not funny AND hard to look at. Josh is funny in stand up but not on a script. @@laurenconrad1799 We moved from Bklyn to South Florida when I was 10-1/2 years old. Talk about culture shock. We moved from a completely integrated neighborhood to a community that just took down the colored & white signs the year before (the no jews, no dogs signs didn't come down for another 10 years). The next city over from us was the residence of the KKK & every year they had a huge parade- no joke. UGH. I couldn't wait to leave there.
