You having to take that offer because you got four kids and whatever else, is a money management problem. You were already eating good. You sound like you're still living paycheck to paycheck on a six figure salary, where you HAVE TO take a 1.5m dollar deal or the alternative is not feeding your kids. That's why it sounds like you broke up, you put yourself in situations where you lost the power to negotiate and will take whatever they give, while your partner is able to take offers with a grain of salt and analyze the situation.
