Tim, my 2022 Tundra received a MM unit update yesterday. I have not looked to see what else changed but we now have the Toyota home and function buttons on the left side of the screen when using Apple Car Play. This reduces the number of taps to get around the MM features and settings. Kudos to Toyota for listening to their owners and rolling this out even if it took a while.

Without a doubt, you are correct, the reliability of modern cars is going to be tracked more on the infotainment than the mechanicals. And the tech is going to be rated more on its user interface than its actual abilities. Regardless of what the tech in the car can do, if a DFU can't figure it out, it sucks.

As long as a truck can move and I can drive it I call that reliable I don't care about the infotainment or radio it's the drivetrain for me. I just don't want to be stranded alongside the road or can't go somewhere

Everything should work. The basics are most important, it must start, stop, and drive. If it cannot get you where you are going that's basic reliability problems. The radio and screens need to work too even if it's Android auto or apple play lol.

As a an IT professional and cyber engineer before “cyber” or “IT” were part of the nomenclature, I had to accept from the early days that 90% of the population are DFUs. It’s hard for me to acknowledge that people use any tool without understanding how it works considering your survivability may depend on that knowledge at some point. The general public had no idea how close they come to losing all of their modern conveniences on any given day. The Crowd Strike debacle is just the tip of the iceberg.

When you pay 70K or more for any vehicle. You want everything to work.

The app on everybody's phone is called Android Auto. No harder to figure out than Apple carplay. Car manufacturers call stuff whatever the hell they want.

Been watching and listening for over a year. Bud you need to sharpen this up! Your product knowledge is very surface and tech knowledge is poor. The presentation is very tough to listen too...the muttering needs to clean up (Try a speech therapist possibly). Jill is super screechy yikes. Not trying to be a dick just honest. If you want to see a good solo guy check out "The Getty adventures" Dude is well spoken and educated. Huge difference.
