yep, a character like blade that could have easily been revived in the meta but wasnt is a perfect example, they will do whatever they want, if they wanted to give yanking a massive buff they could, they could just never release a characcter that fits in acherons team comp, and just like that her potencial is wasted, we try to rationalize it but at the end of the day its almost random, just pull the characters you like and move on when they eventualy become unusable

He makes a good point about Topaz, it’s nice for the initial Topaz pullers that she eventually popped off, but I would personally never recommend going for a character who ‘might’ have future value while they remain pretty weak for patches on end when you could also… wait for them to actually rerun and see when they become worth it. Unless you specifically prefer the playstyle they represent, you’re just opening yourself to the Blade/DoT effect.

What makes a unit future proof isn't room to grow. Sometimes that is just not capitalized on. -DOT and Blade still lack a dedicated support or sustain. Sparkle still lacks a dedicated carry. They have room to be fixed, but nobody knows when (or even if) that fix is coming. It comes down to whether the devs like a character enough, or see them as profitable enough to give them after-sales. If acheron banner sold like complete shit instead of being a bestseller, maybe jiaoqiu would never be released because selling a dedicated support to a character nobody has isn't worth it.

@@lowpoly_ryu2113the reason is because Genshin has zero, absolutely NO difficult or any challenging content, the content is stagnant and stalls your time in “newer bosses” The devs themselves have stated that Genshin is aimed more for its mini games, so no “anxiety”, but what that leaves is just boring stalemate of empty battles. Any game, especially in RPGs & JRPGs, NEED an upgrade function to keep new content more challenging than the last, with this is where “gear” comes up! The only issue HSR actually has is that it’s a gacha game, and the upgrades are just newer units, there’s no way to upgrade past units- however, that’s every single legitimate gacha. It’s the way it is, sadly. Would love to see HSR implement some sort of older unit upgrade mechanic, similar to Epic seven (before that game went bad too) ngl Blade & Jingliu being a 1.x chars and lasting as long as they did is good, basically a year. Majority of gachas it’s every 2-4 months, CookieRunKingdom is a great example of this Gacha games like WuWa that have more skill expressions with action open world oriented combat, have less of an power creep issue precisely bc of its for, of combat, yet sadly, incompatible to compare to a turn based game.

about topaz, its a very similar story to jingyuan - its just that future proofing is not current proofing ideally, you need both the strong release while having somewhat clear spaces for the composition to be further elevated, and pray for hoyo to elevate it

This will be as long as the Bible, but I swear I have points worth considering :D Acheron and TheHerta are not exactly the same, as the Madame needs only 1 same-path teammate and her path is for damage dealers, while Nihility unites are more like debuffers... But Acheron can be somewhat future proof, still... As a well-built Sunday could show: Acheron's 2-Nihlity clause can be overstepped. His AF gives enough stack boosts for Acheron (especially with his CRIT DMG buff and JQ by his side) to surpass what she gets from having 2 nihility teammates. And Sunday doesn't even have his own damage to add... So, Anaxa might be Erudition, but he might still be able to buff Acheron enough to worth not having 2 more nihility on team - with additional gain. 1) He likely will have considerable damage of his own (not enough to use him as a main, but as a sub DPS). 2) He might implants weakness, which can mean either more damage for Acheron (if lightning is added), or a for a teammate who's element was not there. Or, if his 7-weakness gimmick is true, extra damage could come through his attacks. And he likely has some weakness implant, because Herta doesn't. 3) He was considered to be a Nihility unit because his kit states that he debuffs at every action - maybe out of turn as well. (and he likely will because that is something missing from Herta's kit). So, Anaxa can buff an Acheron team with debuff-stacks, own damage and weakness implants. And then, if you have Acheron's E2.... then Anaxa being Erudition truely doesn't matter and this is all additional buff. Similar buffing can come from any future damage dealer who also AF her and/or debuffs the enemy and has considerable personal damage power. True damage also counts. As for JingYuan... I think, his badly designed kit is not a future proofing quality. He got buffed accidently - and deliberately. Likely, this summon thing was planned since beginning but they had issues with the code implementation. So a Sunday was to come, it was just a matter of time. And everybody else was accidental buffs for him - while was planned for others. Such accidental buffs happen for many characters. And Aglaea... She seem to lack proper teammates (aside Sunday - even Mem is questionable). So, I think she will get easier to manage later - possibly gaining a lot from Hyacine, for example... And her raw damage gives her longetivity. But as her kit is less flexible because of the insane ERR needs, I don't see her very future proof (unless some crazy harmony comes out who singlehandedly gives her enough ER - e.g. a pure ER charger memosprite with FUA style - to free up other slots for sub DPSs and/or supports). No unit is truely future proof, of course. Acheron might not be usable from 3.1-3.2. But I would say, Emanators have good chances because they build their kit to be more self-sustaining, so other characters can slot in as additional damagers or buffers more easily.

Almost like future proof is decided by the company. Dr Ratio and Fexiao could have never happened and Topaz would suck. Acheron could have never gotten JQ and would be falling behind. Therta could not get a special support and fall behind in 4.0. DoT is an example of them choosing to not care, just know which characters the company likes ez.

I love Aglaea's design, but boy.... she recks she is not the tiniest bit future proof. She is already at her strongest, there's really little to growth from here on. Amphoreus enemies GENERATE more energy, so the moment we stop seeing these sort of enemies. Or worse, if they start releasing more energy reducing enemies (such as aventurine boss). It will be a true nightmare - Hoyo has a really strong past of making gimmic enemies to make your units feel worse - 5 TV boss and Amphoreus boss to make Feixiao seem worse. - Hoolay (a beefy and fast enemie - to dispel Jiaoqiu debuff or any other) - to make Acheron feel worse - Aventurine (1st Imaginary resistant boss) - to make DHIL and Ratio feel worse. Besides that, how can they make Aglaea stronger? Will they powercreep Sunday in the summon meta? Probably not How about a better sustain/battery than Huohuo? There're only 3 battery units in the game, so not likely. Then it only leaves Robin. Will replacing Robin for another support increase Aglaea dmg ceiling ? Probably, but hardly enough to keep her viable from a long time

I mean, Kafka is in the same position as the safe units to look out for and is why DOT isnt getting an updated unit as Kafka's kit was perfect from the beginning and would be the sign of the game being dead if she got powercreep. With how Kafka's kit works, if they arent careful on the DOT units they make, Kafka can easily become the best unit in the game just on her activating dots. Her own personal damage is the only problem with her and its just because she is an old unit.

I'm updated on the beta and from what I've seen, the dmg output of Therta is almost identical with the comparison of RMC and Tribbie, for me Tribbie is looking kinda skippable even if she saves like 2 cycles

@@oliveratom5957 this is for very and i mean very invested acheron (ppl who already have 4k atk 100 cr and 200+ cdmg) tribbie give 24% respen so basically u have 44% respen that equivalent to E6 acheron plus addional dmg(fua) every ult which both JQ and acheron can do very easily basically a more generalist robin plus addional 30% vuln on her ult what im trying to say if ur ache already hit the JL lvl in terms of stats the best way to upgrade her is to give her more end multiplier and tribbie can provide it ofcourse there a pros and cons between tribbie and robin but for my acheron specifically tribbie is looking to be a far superior upgrade than robin which is a good thing (This is edited again i forget to mention bcause ache/JQ have consistent ult spammed tribbie fua can make avent fua more consistent which is a good boost for thise who have S1 avent which in turn increases acheron ult uptime)

It is a matter of time when Enemies with no weakness arrive making Superbreak no more valid; or Enemies that ignore armor to sell new Preservation unit that uses no armor to sustain.

ER arc? Just look at Inazuma for an example. It's an eventuality. But for now the focus would be on the two paths and one new mechanic. For Erudition, we're looking at doing more AoE hits and dmg (plus focus dmg with The Herta as a bonus). For Remembrance, it's the entire thing. For True Damage, maybe on the number of hits? That's as according to RMC's kit seems to suggest. Dunno why it mentions "for every 1 instance of DMG", so I'm guessing "number of hits" is gonna be essential for TD. Also reminds me of the Preservation Trotter btw.

Ehh. Fugue is really only marginally better than hmc for firefly unless you get eidolons. She is, however, a massive upgrade for boothill and rappa.

@@boop9374I would say BH and FF get better buff from fugue than Rappa Rappa is only a decent because fugue is a buff and nerf. You deal more Dmg but you will have to wait for more than a cycle for them to come back to fight. BH loves fugues entire kit and FF also is the same thanks to Lingsha. Rappa can’t make use of her skill as good as FF thanks to lingsha

I would disagree acheron e2 is power creep resistant thanks to e1 robin. With that acheron can literally fight lighting res enemies. JQ will make this go even further and a healer that can provide debuff will make sure Acheron will not get power creep for a long time

@Salientspeaker56 Well yeah like, if You do so much pulls for a character and that character doesn't do his job, well.... You know. But that happens with a Lot of characters, but when comparing to E0S0, Acheron falls down a Lot compared to an FF

Power creep resistant char usually start with res pen or weakness implant and are versatile in anyway with strong team. If you want power creep res team, won’t you focus on vertical investment on your char than switch your dps every 6 months??
