Pelvic Empowerment what if my opening is really the problem? The muscles are capable of relaxing and my Gyno has told me that my depth and girth is normal. The issue is that the skin won’t stretch and it rips at the opening during intercourse or while trying dilators (sometimes inside and sometimes the perineum). I don’t have that wall blocking penetration that people talk about with vaginismis. If I hear more forplay and more lube one more time I will scream! Nobody has an answer for me and I’ve just learned my mom has the same issue and just “deals with it” ...
@PelvicEmpowerment5 жыл бұрын
@@weirdoanditsok1602 That's such a good question. First and foremost, I am so, so sorry to hear that you've been experiencing this pain. Given what you've shared, it does sound like the skin around the vaginal opening could be the culprit. I've seen this before in the clinic, but associated with either: 1. Low estrogen levels, leading to poorly estrogenized vaginal tissue, leading to thin/easily torn skin 2. Post chemotherapy due to a pelvic cancer, leaving the vaginal skin thin/easily torn Hearing you say that you and your mom have the same issues, and that she just "deals with it," breaks my heart. I'm not sure if there is a potential genetic component -- perhaps something to do with lower levels of estrogen production in your and your mother's hormonal systems, or perhaps a genetically smaller vaginal opening to begin with? My intention in making this video was not to invalidate yours or your mother's experience, but rather to highlight that electively making the vaginal opening too small can cause pain instead of increasing pleasure. I wish I could offer you other options to explore, but other than self stretching with dilators/manual therapy provided by a pelvic therapist and potentially supplementing with topical estrogen/testosterone pending on any hormone imbalances, I'm not entirely sure where to go 😔 I wish I could be more helpful. Please do not hesitate to ask any other questions. Wishing you only the best💕

Yes! You are completely correct. The pelvic floor and other muscles, like your abdominal muscles and your inner thigh muscles, are considered "synergists," so that when one is turned on, so are the others! My husband and I got together in our early 20's and I was very tight and orgasms were strong and frequent. We are now 40 have had 6 kids together(5 vaginally) and I was very insecure about my loosening after #1 birth. He never complained or anything and still ejaculates very easily, but he says "it's the same road...just paved a little differently ". When I labor with #2 our OB was the on call..not my regular. He was rude, impatient and I wasn't pushing my baby out fast enough so he used forceps. I tore and while stitching me up asked my husband if he would like the "husband stitch". Neither of us knew what he was talking about, but he proceeded to do it. Getting back the feeling in my vagina was a long road and that stitch made even attempting sex very painful. We didn't for like 6-8 months. But after that things seemed back to normal and our sex life was amazing again. But our 6th baby is almost 5 and I feel like I'm so loose and it's very hard to achieve orgasm even though my husband spends alot of time orally pleasing me...and agin he has never said anything, but certain positions don't do anything for me like they used to. I know I've had 5 vaginal births and breastfed all of my babies and I know I'm not going to be tight like my 20s/30's. I just want to feel aroused again. I've been having hormone issues and wonder if that is it..I also have very low self esteem due to weight gain. So...here I am trying to tighten myself so I can feel pleasure again.

I feel the same way. I’m 4 months pp from my 6th baby. I can tell it’s not the same and it’s annoying. I’ve started kegel weights and doing a lot of pelvic floor exercises. They are helping! I just read this from a year ago! I had similar issues, turns out related to estrogen decline/perimenopause. Mr dr put me on birth control pills. I was so nervous to take them, but i did, and i feel AMAZING like I did in my 20s. She said they wouldnt likely increase libido, but they make my mood so much better that it increases libido in thy way. Maybe you guys can try teasing foreplay throughout the day too, to get you more and more aroused before you eventually have sex, and that would help? Like flirting, sexting, touching, kissing etc, starting from right after each time you have sex. Also you could try sleeping naked or just with something like his fannel shirt or a bath robe on to get you in the mood. Ahhhh, I hope you can get back to normal to enjoy Gods gift of sexual pleasure again 🙏

Awesome video!!!! Two things at the end of your video I think is just awesome and the way your trying so hard to help people understand how important and dangerous these two things are. The first is Myths , how people believe something to be absolutely true because they've overheard so many people talk about it, like it's common knowledge and shouldn't be questioned. The second is how it's taboo talking about stuff like this. My little sister passed away just last month She had Metastatic Adenocarcinoma cancer the coroner's report said it started in Her vagina. Nobody knew anything about it she was the type of person that was ashamed to talk about her symptoms even with a doctor, but that wasn't her fault. These taboo topics should be talked about widely because it's not only a person's well-being that's at stake it could be there life.

Interestingly, looking into female pelvic floor exercise, kegels are less then ideal and are more geared to male anatomy. Where yoni egg or jade egg practices or meant for a healthy vagina not just focusing on the contraction but the release of the contraction, like what I think you are touching on in the biceps brachii part. Basing the health on the vagina on not just contraction but relaxation. At least this is what I seem to be finding/understanding
@PelvicEmpowerment5 жыл бұрын
I love that you are learning more about pelvic floor ❤ Full range of motion of the pelvic floor is paramount, just like any other muscle group! That is exactly what I was discussing with "tone" when using my biceps, you're spot on. Usually pelvic floor disorders fall into one of two camps: low tone/weakness, or high tone/spasm. Someone in the low tone/weakness category usually benefits from a strengthening program (Kegels, yes, but so much more than just kegels -- I could type an essay about that!), whereas someone in the high tone/spasm category usually benefits from relaxation exercises (working on the "drop" of the pelvic floor, a reverse Kegel if you will) and manual therapy to the pelvic floor/surrounding restricted musculature. The details of the yoni/jade egg practices are some that I need to learn more about before I can speak too intelligently on them. I will say that, much like holding a dumbbell in your hand all day, I do discuss with my patients the potential harm of keeping one in all day long pending on its weight (you could create a spasm/high tone situation).

What a great video. Sex is too painful for me. So are smear tests. I recently needed a vaginal examination and my doctor told me that the opening of my vagina is tiny. I have always suspected that I have vaginismus but I'm not sure that's the case as most of my pain/discomfort feels like it's coming from that vaginal entry point, not the vaginal canal. It feels like there is a threshold, a tight/stubborn bit at the opening and then more space after that. What can I do about a small vaginal opening? Do dilators help to stretch the opening and make it wider? I'm going to ask to see a gynaecologist but I would love your thoughts. Thanks :)

Please may you do a video explaining vaginismus and how dilating helps? I manage 1, 2 and 3 well the third dilator is a little difficult out of five set here in UK. Also would a vibrator help if to try that and not a dilator? One more thing is when dilating last night I felt a ring like muscle or tissue to try push past with dilator 2 it did go through but I don't under what the ring muscle is unless it's a hymen perhaps or muscle, not sure how it works.
@PelvicEmpowerment5 жыл бұрын
I can absolutely do that video, added it to my requests1 I am so happy for and proud of you for being so consistent with the dilators! Level 3 of 5 is excellent progress -- and there is some evidence suggesting that a low level vibration can be relaxing to tissues, so a vibrator with the option of low level vibration could be helpful through that lens. It depend on your intention! I usually encourage dilating to be a therapeutic exercise, instead of a sexual one, but there is the argument that sexual excitation would help to relax your pelvic floor and vaginal canal! A ring of tissue could potentially be hymenal tissue -- has anyone ever assessed you for the possibility of a septate hymen? Sometimes vaginismus and septate hymens go hand in hand.

Hi! I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling like your vagina doesn’t feel like it used to - “tightness” can be affected by a lot of things, and without a proper assessment I cannot give you individualized medical advice/tell you what would be the best way for you to proceed. That being said, I can offer a few insights: 1. Some loss of “tightness” is very normal not only with age (we lose tone all over our bodies with age, and our hormonal environment starts to change, which changes the vagina tissues) but also after carrying and delivering a child. Know that some change is normal, expected, and perfectly healthy! 2. Muscles can be strengthened and toned, and the pelvic floor is a group of muscles that can play a role in the feeling of “tightness.” That being said, it’s in your best interest to have a professional assess your pelvic floor to find out if strengthening/toning exercises are what’s best for you (sometimes these exercises can actually cause pelvic dysfunction if the wrong pelvic floor does them). If you live in the US, you can use this directory to find a pelvic physical therapist near you: pelvicrehab.com A pelvic PT can assess your pelvic floor and surrounding musculature to help paint a picture of your unique body and what would be best for you! A cash-pay option would likely be best, as insurance won’t cover what you’re interested in (unfortunately insurance only covers active dysfunction, not preventative pelvic PT outside of pregnancy/postpartum cases). Wishing you only the best ❤️

I’ll be diving into content creation then, and I’ve added this topic to my list of requests ❤️ Until then, remember that I cannot give individualized medical advice, but I can share some ideas! I’m wondering a few things: 1. I realize I do not know your past personal and medical history... you do not need to answer this question on this public forum, but if there is a trigger, or something that happened that you relate to this glans pain, working through that event may be key in your healing. 2. Have you heard of pelvic physical therapy? A good pelvic PT would go through your personal and medical past history with you, evaluate your pelvis/pelvic floor, and discuss lifestyle with you to try and figure out what is causing this sensitivity. If you live in the US, you can use this directory to find a provider near you: pelvicrehab.com 3. Finally, if you don’t have access to a provider, I wonder if this sensitivity has to do with your nervous system. Overly sensitive nerves innervating your glans-have you ever heard of graded exposure? Sometimes you can retrain nervous responses over time by slowly introducing the affected area to different low level, building to high level stimuli. Read a little about it if you haven’t heard of it, you may be able to use graded exposure to different tactile stimuli to retrain your glans ❤️ I wish I could be more helpful! Wishing you only the best 💕

Yes ma'am, first.. I ment no disrespect, thx for responding..my concern was WHAT to do when you've lost some elasticity,my husband noticed the lack of firmness.
@PelvicEmpowerment4 жыл бұрын
@@ShanYvette No worries at all! Losing some elasticity is normal with aging, but if you're starting to notice dysfunction paired with that loss (bladder/bowel/sexual dysfunction), it may be helpful to see a pelvic physical therapist! Have you ever heard of pelvic physical therapy? A pelvic physical therapist would be able to assess your pelvic floor and surrounding musculature to help you learn exactly what's contributing to your dysfunction. The catch with pelvises is that each person's pelvis is different, so there isn't really any "one size fits all" advice that you can give when someone reports a lack of elasticity. Interventions depend on how that person's pelvic floor/body presents. If you live in the US, you can use this directory to find a provider near you: pelvicrehab.com Wishing you the best ❤️

I am hesitant to make a video all about kegels, as pelvic floor exercises would be amazingly helpful for SOME women/men, but for others, kegels could actually be counterproductive/make matters worse. If you feel you could benefit from kegels/pelvic floor exercise, I urge you to first get evaluated by a pelvic physical therapist near you to find out if you are appropriate for strengthening! You didn’t talk about what makes it tighter.
@PelvicEmpowerment5 жыл бұрын
Hi Martha! I believe that I do talk a lot about pelvic floor musculature and its relationship to vaginal tightness, and even use visual cues to help the viewer see/understand the relationship between "tightness" and the pelvic floor. Do you have any specific questions? I'd be happy to try to answer. I do not outline *how* to make the vagina tighter, and I don't believe I claim to either in the title or in the video. Due to tone (which is something I discuss in the video), I would encourage someone to see a specialist before doing a lot of "vaginal tightening" exercises. Let me know if I can be helpful in any other way! Wishing you only the best ❤

🙄🙄 so how do you make it tighter uugh!!
@PelvicEmpowerment4 жыл бұрын
I totally appreciate this question, and while I've been asked before, I'm uncomfortable making a video detailing how to tighten the vagina, as I believe there are many well-meaning women/people with vaginas that would watch it and end up hurting, not helping, themselves. A lot of times it's younger women/women who haven't had children who ask, and sometimes, in their cases, tightening exercises could end up causing dysfunction. That being said, if you feel you have a true laxity issue and are looking for interventions, it might be helpful to see a pelvic PT in your area! A good pelvic PT would be able to assess your pelvic floor (and surrounding musculature) to figure out if you have a tension-based weakness or true weakness, and then tailor her interventions to your unique presentation. If you live in the US, you can use this directory to find a provider near you: pelvicrehab.com Either way, I understand that this video wasn't what you were looking for, and I hope you find what you're seeking elsewhere 💛

I just got a vaginal rejuvenation. Which they did a fabulous job. I got it done in Reynosa Mexico. The support group for them is diosa rb support group on fb. They do all kinds of plastic surgery at a half of the us cost and do just as good of a job. I got my tubal reversal with them too. Next year will bill get my bbl with them. They didn’t just do the outside. They did the muscle around. They made the distance from my rectum to vagina longer because there wasn’t much distance previously. They made the opening tighter. But not overly tight. They took out pieces of the mucosa on the inside and sew me back up making the inside tube smaller but they also did the muscle repair around tubing. They did a good job. I’m really happy with it actually.

@PelvicEmpowerment5 жыл бұрын
Hi Henry, I am so, so sorry to hear that your fiancé is going through this experience. Know that she isn't alone in it at all, I treat women who are experiencing painful intercourse every day. And it is such a lovely reflection of you as a partner reaching out to try and find her some relief. There are a lot of potential factors at play when it comes to painful intercourse -- and the pelvic floor is a large potential player! Without formally evaluating your fiancé, I can't say for sure if her pelvic floor is involved, but this is usually the case. If your fiancé feels up to it, she may benefit from seeing a pelvic physical therapist at least for an initial consult to see if pelvic physical therapy is right for her! @PelvicEmpowerment4 жыл бұрын
Getting "wet" during sex is a multifaceted phenomenon! There are SO many different factors that play into it -- and how "wet" a woman gets during sex changes as she ages! Estrogen levels play a big role in the vagina's ability to lubricate, and as women age, they produce less and less estrogen. It may be that your body is naturally aging and producing less estrogen ❤️

If I am understanding you correctly, I think this is a common misunderstanding of what determines "looseness" in a vagina! Masturbation is actually very good for pelvic health, as orgasm promotes reflexive contractions of pelvic floor, and would in no way lead to "looseness." Further, multiple sexual partners/having sex often has little (if anything) to do with pelvic floor muscle strength. This idea that a woman's vagina becomes a "play ground" is rooted in a great misunderstanding of how the vaginal anatomy/pelvic floor muscles actually work! But I appreciate you watching and commenting.
