This is an update on my situation…. My ex and I have been split for 4 months. He got into a rebound and I did not. I stayed away even though at first with no contact I messed up and begged. Yeah, that packed a punch. I was thinking of an ex who it's the exact kind of scenario where people would say not to give him another chance, given what he did. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that you don’t feel the pain or forget the offense but that you’re willing to not bring it up again. It’s like paying a debt you don’t owe. Everything you said Coach Lee is true. After doing all the things that you said, my ex contacts me every day now, saying things like, she admits her mistakes, she misses me, telling me how good a person I was and that she still loves me, and the possibility of us getting back together. I still love her but the thing is, I have accepted everything already and I did all of these wonderful things to improve myself in all aspects, and I'm not sure if I want her back as well. I just feel like she does not deserve the better version of me after what she did. It's not revenge, I guess it's self-love on my part, keeping myself away from the trauma, depression, and anxieties that might happen again. Uhhmmm.. yeah I never got back with her, but last december 2021 we were talking and going out again then only to find out that she's dating another guy so I chose to stay away for good. I was surprised that the guy who is her boyfriend now is one of my childhood friends. I tried to asses myself, my feelings towards that, and to be honest it hurt a little but I just accepted it and I know it's for my own good. I am between a huge decision: going back to London where I lived for 12 years before I've met her back in 2018 or stay here in Italy were we both lived our love story. She always waited for me but the day she left me I told her that I wouldn't NEVER take her back as I was hurting like mad. I've asked her yesterday if I could go to her place to pick up the last box with my things and she invited me for dinner. She prepared my favourite dish and during dinner I told her that I was thinking of her every single of those 76 days. She said she's missing me and that she never contacted me because I told her that I was never going to take her back that morning when she decided we weren't a good pair anymore. I've spoken without filters and said that I was at a turnaround: my wonderful job in London or a house with a dog and herself here in Italy. She said that after this "bomb" she was ready to consider a "come back". We started kissing and while undressing she asked me: "Are you sure?" - "just if you have feelings for me" I answered. "I do have feelings..." it was magical. I now left her house and she told me that she's willing to think about us together. I am in my place now - thinking of the big London opportunity but also fulfilled with emotions. I've spent 76 days thinking of this day and now finally I know that we were both suffering and missing each others. We are NOT back together but we have at least spoke and decided to try to restart something. Sorry for my grammar but the words are running though my head as I'm both excited and shocked: just 18 hours ago I was about to forget any hope and now my ex told me that she's missing me and will consider to take me back! Life is hard but surely full of surprises!

@@tyetr9853 hi, I’ll be honest, what I thought was a breakup between two people who loved each other turned into a whole different monster....the no contact only enabled her to carry through on quite a narcissistic lifestyle, 7 weeks after being engaged and starting no contact, she’d gotten engaged to someone else a lot older and wealthier, and moved out of the country......I know this isn’t the story you probably wanted to hear, but it’s an example of how sometimes you can drive yourself crazy and to despair......for someone who isn’t worth it. I know not everybody behaves like my ex did but be honest with yourself before you rip yourself to bits over a lost relationship, was You truly happy inside, was it really that good with them, were you truly compatible.....if the answer is yes, then it’s maybe worth going no contact and hoping that one day things will work out good between you. But until then get up, work, work out, get fit, eat better, look better, feel better. Learn new things and go new places, basically better yourself because whether you see them again or not, there’s only you and the future and whatever that brings. Sorry for the long reply, but Break ups are hard, for many different reasons. I had to make sure mine was for the right reasons......I soon got over it, lol.

I've been in NC for a little over a week now, and i can tell you guys that its already better, the key that you have to understand is WORK ON YOURSELF, go to the gym, hangout with friends, do the thing that make you happy. I asked a friend if i could pour my hearth out to him about the breakup and about my ex gf, it helped alot just to have someone who supports you throug this time. I write a long text to him everyday and he answers, it doesnt even matter what he answers its just the support of having him there that helps. I just want to thank you for your guidance during this difficult process in my life. I watched your videos and followed what you said to do. I was the one that left in January and he did have a rebound relationship. He called and texted me everyday since I left & didn't understand why & I asked him why & he never answered. Well 3-4 months into the relationship he quit seeing her. He kept confiding in me about personal feelings so I knew he was emotionally attached to me. He told me when he broke it off too. It's not always an ego trip or feeling more attractive, if you're the one breaking up with the other. I've broken up with men before because they didn't want to see me exclusively, were running hot and cold to me, were lying to me, etc. So I had to break it up. I didn't feel more attractive, for sure. Just the opposite. If I were so great, he wouldn't be doing those things, right? Or so I thought. I now know that people are the way they are & it doesn't have much to do with me or other people.

I sent a clean slate message letting him know about my feelings about him needing for space and a break. This is after 2 weeks of keeping in contact with him (mostly him initiating the conversation). I apologized for being negative about it, said a few things about us and let him know I love him and miss him but will give him the time he needs for himself and for myself. I'm starting my NC rule today. I hope I can get good results as the people here in the comments section. Thank you Coach Lee. You soothe my anxiety. To whoever is asking, no we're not back together. I did, however, asked 2 mos after NC whether he wants to start over and he answered vaguely. I never accepted the "no label but people know we're together" plot. It's not fair for someone to do that to their partners. That's just selfish. I start talking to this amazing guy a month after i gave him up and although i wanted to get over my ex fast, I'm not rushing. Coach lee has helped me in my darkest days and honestly, I'm gonna keep supporting his videos despite of not wanting my ex back anymore.

Thank you Coach Lee for all of your encouraging and insightful videos. After my break up in December 2021, (he said he was stressed out with work, his ex (mother of his young son), finances and drinking). I expressed how much I cared for him and then told him I want you to be happy, in love and at peace even if it’s not with me. I also told him that I didn’t know who or what God had in store for me but I trust it’s gonna be amazing! I walked away with my dignity and did not reach out to him not once. I damn near died from pain and sadness! He came back four months later (April 2022)! It came out of no where! He sent a text saying “Hey u.” I replied “Hi.” Within seconds he called me! It was crazy! LOL! He told me he missed me, and that he watched my Facebook posts daily! He also said “I need you in my life. You give me peace.” I agreed to meet with him that evening, and we spent the night together, even called off from work the next day! LOL! We’ve been inseparable ever since. He told me I’m the strongest woman he’s ever met. Stay strong everyone. It ain’t easy, but it can be done. Going no contact is the most powerful (albeit the most challenging) tool in the relationship toolbox. If it’s meant to be, let them come to you! You’re worth it!❤️

James, like Coach Lee has taught before, trying to maintain contact after a breakup, makes the person resist you more. You really should try going no contact. Recently, I had issues with my boyfriend. I felt unloved and unappreciated. So, I asked for a break. He was scared of losing me, so he did the opposite. Called and texted me often, asking to talk things over. I soon ignored him. His persistence trained me to be even more defiant. Then he stopped. Silence. I realized he was gone. This really could be over. I reached out to him, and was ready and willing to talk. You have to give the space.

I’m on 1.5yrs and still can’t get over my ex. I have no appetite to date or touch another, no friends to talk to, and cry almost every day. She’s in a recent relationship and it broke me down. I don't regret one bit fighting for my ex for 1 month after the breakup. I was a drugaddict and neglected my girlfriend a lot. Should I just had let her go, cry and say 'if thats what u want, then go ahead'. No. I fighted a lot. I quit my addiction and have been clean ever since for 2 months now. It is exactly 5 weeks since he said he was going to focus on RL. This is a LD relationship. One thing I’ve never been clear on with your advice. How much time has to elapse before you would deem someone to be “ignoring their ex” after they reach out? One day? A week? A month? Year? This part is important. You say don’t ignore them but it’s unclear what that really means.

@Coach Lee The problem is that all of my exes are either Dismissive Avoidant or Fearful Avoidant attachment styles, pathological narcissists, or both- and the abject cruelty of the way they end the relationship is an absolute dealbreaker to my ever letting them into my life again, no matter how good the rest of it might have been or how sorry they may claim to be. My second problem with this type of coaching is that it constantly tells the discarded partner to suppress their own needs to express our justified hurt and anger at the way we were dumped; along with our justified demand for amends and reparations for harms done. Every one of your videos that I've listened to keeps telling the dumpee to shove that all under the rug, then when the ex comes back, "don't act mad at them because they might have a feeling they don't like and go away again." Um, what right does that person have to comfort or convenience after what they did? Why should it be considered normal for them not to have to suffer pain or face any consequences for their actions, and why should we not get to require that they make it right? It's been very useful listening to these and going No Contact, because as I've done so I've realized what I'm simply not going to put up with, and if getting an ex back means having to accept the treatment I got on their way out and act like it never happened, no ex is worth that. In other words, these videos are basically signs to move on and find someone better. The unfair, unbalanced nature of getting back someone who left simply isn't worth it.

I think one of the crucial things that happen with NC is that you work on yourself. You become a better person through it. And, you learn to forgive another person. Does that mean you will just let them back into your life when they decide that they miss you and want you back? NOOOOOOO! That is a personal decision and part of the reason that if they start reaching back out to you and telling you they miss you and want you back, that you take it SLOOOOOWWWWW. You want to see if they are actually sorry for what they have done to you and put you through. If they are not sorry or show no signs of remorse, I would recommend moving on and NOT allowing them back into your life. For me personally, if I were cheated on, or they quickly got into a sexual relationship with another person soon after the breakup, I would NOT take them back. To me it shows that I was only in their life as a place holder or comforter and that as soon as I was out of the picture, they easily replaced me. That to me means they never really loved you, and actions speak louder than words. I can still forgive them for dumping me, but then I am free to move on and find someone who TRULY appreciates me, loves me and values me, and will do their part to want me and to keep me.
