@Michael C One of the big things I hate about baseball is a lot of the oldhead, traditionalist “unwritten rule” mentality. Things like players getting mad because somebody watched a home run a little too long, or because they celebrated a little too much, or any of the other myriad things like that make the sport seem so uptight and full of itself. I want to watch people get excited and celebrate things outside of the playoffs, especially in a sport with as much dead time and as little actual action as baseball.

The weirdest thing about Chapman for me is how similar he looks to a guy I served with in the Army who's last name was also Chapman. When I first seen Chapman out on the mound I was beside myself. Not only does he look like the guy I served with he has the exact same height, build, chin line, weight, and everything. I knew the dude I served with absolutely loves baseball, so it was my instant connection that it was him. I, of course, figured out a while ago that he's not the same person I served with. But damn. For several games I was just trying to piece things together.
