The other two singers used the arrangement of another singer. They can cover anyone else in the sense of respect, but they used the version without saying it. We call it copy

What do you mean? I think her tone is not remarkable and lacks of uniqueness, like her there are thousands popping up everyday in south asia. She is very talented and skilled singer, no one cant deny it, but I ask myself what is she doing differently? Whats her signature? Whats her legacy? Is she good enough in her low register, melismas, runs, transitions and consistent on it? Mariah brought her technique to Asia, Regina was the first in Asia to copy it and incorporate to her style of singing covering her songs, after that came Clarice, So Hyang, Morissette, Katrina and so on. So thats why I think no one come near to Mariah and her artistry.

GFM ~Like this guy in the video, one can explain singing with a lot of technical aspects and rational analysis. But after all, it all comes down to your own preference no matter what and slight bias/subjectivity which is no use of arguing over it, because singing is ultimately not the voice itself but the means of communication and message. Some birds have fascinating voice and versatile tunes but not so touching like human singing with lyrics. Many radio personalities have unique/pleasant voice but they can’t sing well. Tone is like visual first impression. It can capture someone at first sight but doesn’t hold that attraction as the time goes unless it is supported by personality or intelligence within. The beauty is ultimately in the eyes or ears of beholder. It is nothing to argue about.

rics blanco I’ve actually heard her whistle live, but I don’t think that’s Katrina’s strength. Morissette is wonderful at it, but I still prefer Katrina’s power and consistency.
