Thx for this video explanation! @3:35 Is the casting director the same thing as the director? @7:50 sounds like the director is also a therapist or mediator! It now makes more sense how some directors tend to work with the same creatives/actors throughout their careers since they all work well together. Learned a lot in this video! thank you.

I assume the show gets the profit from merch, and the theater gets a percentage. But what about show merch sold at locations outside of the theater and online? Who chooses which merch company to go with for example. And any other merch related info you want to provide. Maybe a separate video? Thanks.

Omg this is a great video topic! Really enjoyed, it can be hard to articulate the impact of the director when watching a piece especially vs the material (if it's a new musical) but I hope to be able to make the distinction more and give credit where credit is due!

Hi Katharine! Thank you so so much for your wonderful video. Shout out to all the great directors like Joe Mantello and combo ones like Jerry Mitchell. I was in awe of his work when I saw the previews twice for "Betty Boop"! It flows super duper well and his moves are beautiful. I can't wait for everyone to see it in the Spring. I also am super curious to see how the great Susan Stroman will direct "Smash" from the tv series. I can't wait! Ahh!

When I see a tour of a Broadway production I saw in NY I always like to play “spot the difference” some shows like Six and Hamilton I couldn’t spot any differences. Most shows like Company, and Some Like It Hot I notice a few things. Then there are some shows where it seems like the set, direction, and choreography are all about 30% different and seem almost jarring knowing what it was like on Broadway and that the advertising is often using images and video from the Broadway production. I recently saw Hadestown tour and found myself asking why were all of these changes made? And who signed off on this? I’d love to learn more about the Broadway to Tour process. Did you have a role with the Shucked tour?
