Infamous 1 and 2 need remasters on PS4 or the upcoming PS5. I think part of their current obscurity is the lack of availability. I'd love a upresed 60fps version of the series (second son doesn't count). Atm, you need either a PS3 or have a PS Now subscription to play them, which basically makes them lost to time. Imagine if they made PC ports (never going to happen) I'd pre order that the second it was announced
@Gorilla_Chaos5 жыл бұрын
Infamous 1 and 2 really have the potential to be an amazing cult classic game, but since it’s quite hard to get your hands on these games now (mainly because they’re not available on the current consoles) they lack that love. If they get that port, I’m sure it’ll be a banger. Hell even if they get a remaster, I’ll pay full price for them. But I doubt they’ll get that kind of love.

Wake Wind agreed, gameplay, setting, and sandbox wise it’s the best, definitely the most interactive, and visually beautiful, the characters besides Reggie are are average, and story wise it’s nothing special, when it comes to karma, it definitely downgraded, and a very shorter story but again you basically do have to play it twice but still Shorter than it’s last two, but still had a good upgrade system and still fun as hell with all the powers which was a big step up, I see second son kinda like kickass 2 the movie, a lot of people call it a disappoint and awful but that’s when compared to the first movie which is an underrated great, but by itself it’s still very good

Iono, I love Cole but Delsin was a breath of fresh air. I could relate to the guy more than Solid Snake i mean cole here. Both are completely different and i was okay with that. Also, people forget Cole had 3 games, while Delsin had 1 game to develop. That and a canon comic series. That said, he also didnt have Electrokinesis he had 4 other powers to focus on in one game that was rushed by the end of the development and in canon only had his story take place in like 4 days at best while Cole had literally 3 months with his powers. Delsin had no help or time to develop his powers or his story. So at least lets hope he gets a sequel to redeem that.

My favorite part of Infamous 2 was the cutscene before the final missions, where Cole and Zeke just sit on the room, crack open some beers and watch TV, they get a call and both quietly agree to ignore it and just chill out. Such a short and simple scene, but it was so good considered the story.

It's weird to me that people consider Infamous 2 an underrated game, as I always see it in the best games of ps3 lists. I love it, it's a fantastic game that I keep coming back to every now and then, right next to Sleeping Dogs and Saints Row 4 it is one of my favorite sandbox open world games.
@PredatorH2O4 жыл бұрын
They really mean overlooked.
@JosephJoeseph2 жыл бұрын
A lot of times when people say overrated they don't actually mean the game's critical reception, but it's popularity, or rather lack thereof. For instance, Titanfall 2 is THE game people won't shut up about when it comes to underrated games but of course everyone who's ever played it holds it in extremely high regard. That doesn't change the fact though that the game didn't receive the mainstream popularity it deserved, hence why it's called underrated even though it really isn't. Another great example is Sleeping Dogs, which I hear is very good when I hear about it but that happens once in a blue moon. Not many people talk about it anymore in spite of it supposedly being great, because it just never became as popular as other sandbox violent criminal simulators like Yakuza or GTA. Underrated might not really fit it since those who played it did like it but of course words are defined by how people use them, and people would use underrated to describe a game like Sleeping Dogs. One that's been overlooked despite of it's merits and fell to relative obscurity. And by that definition Infamous 2 is underrated, since before this video I didn't know a thing about the series.

Great video, hope to see another on this game. This series was why I got the ps3, and I love it. I remember in game informer the controversy of changing cole's design heavily, and I love the look they went with. The emotion, the detail, the betrayal and the redemption of characters and city are all just so damn great. It feels real. Zeke making up for his wrongs, the heart wrenching ending you gotta choose, the steaks being high leading up to...an okay ending with one path and a great ending with the other path.

Infamous 2 is litterally my best gaming experience. I had found it at a rent store and for some dumb reason I never considered buying it but damn was it exiting everytime I rented it for the weekend. I played it before the first and I still don't think I regret that one bit. I guess that is because instead of seeing it as an upgrade I got pleasantly drowned in all those powers and abilities. A fun fact is that the only reason I played both endings is because the first time I didn't know about the effects of karma and I also randomly completed karma missions.(english is not my first language so I missed the tutorial).

Jesus, this video was incredible. You make some really great content. And it's always nice to watch something on inFamous again. Weirdly enough a series I keep forgetting about, but I remember hahing a ton of fun playing 2, and the interlinking of traversal with the combat was defintely what made up for a lot if that enjoyment. I adore me a good traversal system in games and being able to meaningfully incorporate that into fighting as well. With Spider-Man I felt the environemtn had at least a little bit of purpose, with you having that off the wall attack and being able to instantly finish webbed up enemies off by knocking them against a wall or on the ground (which was Op, but it is very satisfying using his flipkick in the air to acchieve that) made it so there was at least some interaction. Though yeah. Swinging and wallrunning is next to useless because you would always overshoot. I really hope the sequel improves on the parcour. then that might be something that could be involved in the flow of combat. Anyway. InFamous has a really satisfying loop with hopping around, finding energy sources and shooting that make it a real joy. Also hitboxes are somewhat generous as to always keep the pace up, which I enjoy. And I can second the mission during the thubderstorm to be a really satisfyinf moment because it's one of my most vivid memoroes of this game after all these years. i should revisit it sometime

I think the “original” cast of characters (pretty much meaning Cole and Zeke) was super important to my investment in the series, and when I saw that the new game wouldn’t have them, my interest deflated fast. I think if Infamous 3 (or would it be 4?) was planned in the future, they should really consider featuring Cole and Zeke again.

While I love inFAMOUS 1 and Second Son (which I would say is the weakest of the 3 mainline games), 2 really did have it all... improved combat, great story, interesting new location, awesome custumization of powers, and heck Cole himself really lightened up a lot between InFAMOUS 1 and 2, which made me wonder if he had been as chill and fun to be around BEFORE the blast changed his life. (Cole was a bit uptight in the first game... can't really blame him though, his world was turned upside down... glad that he mellowed out sometime before the New Marais adventure started)... truly InFAMOUS 2 was an amazing experience.

@seanevans126 жыл бұрын
Hyve Minds zero is the best choice. Many consider it to be the best in the series, and it takes place before the other games, so it’s the perfect starting place. After that, the natural progression would be to play kiwami 1 and 2, then either wait for the 3,4 and 5 remasters to come to the states or play the originals on ps3. Or, if you don’t want to wait on the next 3 or play on ps3, you could always be a savage and play 6 before 3,4 and 5, though I wouldn’t recommend that as the stories are some of the best parts. The yakuza series has a lot of games if you couldn’t tell

About the cover mechanic: during my first playthrough I was powering up Ascension Parish, I was completely overwhelmed by the enemy, while having very little room to move because the only source of health/ammo was the transformer. The last 10 seconds I was just hiding behind the transformer, hoping it would soon be recharged, while the enemy was surrounding me from every angle, bullets barely missing Cole's head. Just as the enemy had completely surrounded me, and my cover became completely useless, the charge was complete and the resulting blast took care of every enemy. It was seriously intense. The cover system works really well, maybe precisely because the game isn't built around it.

Know it's not exactly related, but I'm pretty sure you can also use the environment to your advantage in Spider Man. You also have to position yourself and constantly keep moving, and you have to use the L2 R2 swing to do that quickly. What they could add is a mechanic like in Web of Shadows, where you can swing and break people's noses at the same time. That was an awesome mechanic that I hope they introduce in the next one. Besides that, inFAMOUS 2 is probably my favorite game of all time and I love the whole series, so thanks for making this video.

INFAMOUS 2 IS MY FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME. I still have the collectors edition that I got for my birthday June 23rd, 2011 not too long after the game released and just a few months ago I finally platinumed the game after all these years. Sucker Punch has become my favorite game developer and the only games I don't have all the trophies for yet is the first Infamous (Which is really tough to get all trophies for) and Infamous First Light. I bought the Ghost Of Tsushima collectors edition AS SOON AS it was available for purchase and I've got the Sakai clan mask sitting on its stand right next to the Infamous 2 Cole action figure. Ghost Of Tsushima IS A MASTERPIECE in which Sucket Punch took all they've learned about making a game over the years and made it into a special piece of art the likes of which we have never seen before. I don't much believe in the whole concept of having real life heros to look up to but if I did that would be Angus Young of AC/DC and Nate Fox founder of SPP. This game and series are truly something special and if Sony would make PS3 games downloadable on PS Now instead of having to stream it so many more people could fall in love with the series.

So I wanted to give my thoughts on Infamous, I find 1 the weakest of the three. Mainly because Cole gets crapped on the entire time, and everyone knew he was just a delivery boy. Even Trish has a beef with him and it feels... a little unwarranted. Cole in the first game was also very bland, a thing that Infamous 2 corrected. Infamous 2 was better in every way to the first with likability and charm as far as the characters go. My favorite of the series is Second Son, due to the great dynamic of Delsin and Reggie, not to mention how Delsin interacted with everyone else, I can admit that some things lacked in the creativity department and that the game wasn't much of a step up like the difference between 1 and 2, but it was still an improvement overall, in my opinion. I think it may have been a bit short, but more infamous is all I want.

This felt A LOT longer than 18 minutes. Hell of a lot of great insights into this game. Made me wish Sucker Punch was a bigger studio so they could keep the series going. Looking forward to Ghosts, and I liked Second Son (especially the soundtrack) but I really wanted to see a greater correlation between Cole's actions and the world thereafter. Not just a brief summary. But man, yeah. Great effin series, and I wish Sucker Punch wasn't dead set on killing Cole. Lightning powers are an instant fave for me

I also think this game is great, but I personally prefer the first one. The first one has more unique and creative style and tone to it that I just adore about it. And the sound track the fucking sound track

I got the first game for free after the Sony data leak and I really loved it. I never got around to the second one unfortunately but now I really want to, especially since I've been playing the Sly games as well.
