This was the most in-depth, well-researched and well put together essay on la la land. Well done. I was surprised to see how young you are. Because of the high quality of this essay. And trust me, I have watched a lot and I mean a lot of videos, analyses and essays on this film.

I think we are all surprised at how young you are, but you're very intelligent and your thoughts on this movie are very well laid out. Great job on this! I'm so in love with this movie. Surprisingly, however, I haven't seen Whiplash yet. I guess I better get right on that after hearing about it. Again, really enjoyed your take on La La Land!

The Audition scene is beautiful and it made me fall in love with the film. Whiplash is still my favorite of the two though.

Agreed. It always amazes me how some videos that are poorly done get so many responses, while a sharp, insightful video like this can go unnoticed. Not fair at all.

It really is. I'm so glad I decided to see this movie, knowing that I've never been a fan of musicals. The big difference I see here is that people don't just break out into song in the middle of a conversation like most musicals. That's what always irritated me in the past. La La Land didn't do it that way which really allowed me to enjoy the dialogue as well as the music. LaLaLand is a masterpiece.

Very cool ! I also find the movie very impressive, but cannot stop thinking about Les Demoiselles de Rochefort whenever I see it. If you haven't seen this Demy's masterpiece yet, jump on it, it's purely splendid :)
