What Makes Lineups So IMPORTANT?

I think you missed some pretty important stuff on spawn points : -every time you spawn a tank, you’ll increase the cost of all other tanks. -if you scout an enemy and he gets killed by an ally, it will reduce all spawn point costs by 50. And it adds up the more scout kills you have. Nukes are NOT impacted by that. -planes behave differently. Each type has a minimum cost depending on your br and the game br. Adding armements will increase the cost. They are affected by the scout mechanic. Where it get interesting is that by spawning a certain type of plane (fighter, attacker or bomber), you don’t actually increase the cost of the other types of aircraft. That means that it’s preferable to have 1 fighter and 1 attacker rather than 2 of the same, as you’ll spare around 500-600 SP on the second spawn.

Best tanks in the game are the t44 w the 85mm cannon. They were hardly used in WW2. It's a heavy shit to pen anything in game pired w a relatively fast reload. Then just take a few ground pound planes. I like to switch it up but this is by far the best tank in wt and there are 2 of them.

One of those, eh? Yeah, I take a few choice 4.3 boats into anything except the very top tier with cruisers and occasionally battle cruisers. But then I’m weird. I like naval. Probably because for whatever reason, I’m much better at naval than I am tanks. Or planes for that matter. Anyway… Some vehicles defy the system, if they’re used right. Probably not good for new players to do this, tho. At least until they understand weak points and tactics/play styles.

10:46 playing Germany now for 5 years i can say exactly what happend there. - you had at least 5 player that only had Premium vehicles - the one guy who left there mig 15 in there 6.7 line up - the one french boy that actually plays france - the two guys in a full uptier who decide to throw in the towel when they loose there best tank - the two afks that just realized that there in a game - and the guy who wanted to play the wisel 1A2 but selected the JaPz.k A2 by accident

One thing I would have added: your rewards are multiplied when your team wins, and having a lineup with a variety of tools makes wins more likely. Even if all you do is shoot down CAS that's a huge W.

Absolutely. A capable and versatile lineup is far more important than being able to shovel into many vehicles of the same type. Because to win a game, upon respawn you may need to bring in something that fits the situation the best. It may be an SPAA against enemy aircrafts, a light tank for mobility or medium/heavy tank for firepower, or CAS if you are good at it, etc. Additionally, the spawn cost by vehicle type increases by each respawn, therefore it not highly probable that you can spawn in 4 times in a light tank even, for example. France for example is desperately lacking a proper AA in the low-mid BRs (up to 5.0), otherwise it has an adequate lineup.

was debunked multiple times ... the amount of RP per game is the same after the match ends ... the only thing that is benefitial of using multiple spawns is ...well you grind them and with upgrades u get bonus exp if you research a full tier worth of upgrates on a certain tank but again most of the time if the team is deffinetly losing then spawning is pointles becouse Gaijin buts a litmiting factor on RP gain

I had the same problem and started to (almost)have fun when I gave up on caring about the grind. Paradoxically, I started to get better and the grind just happened. I have most things in most trees now. I decided to move across the trees rather than concentrate on one so my skill level wouldn’t raise more slowly than mu progress. Saying that, I don’t play the higher tiers much. I enjoy about 8.x and below, to about 5.0 at the lowest - playing anything under tier III feels unfair to newer players and Gaijin actually restricts a bunch of progression below III anyway. I don’t have much fun higher up. The grind really does become awful and it feels like I don’t progress for ages, despite having a range of premiums and premium time. Also, I don’t really like the implementation of the more sophisticated missiles or helis. Each to their own, of course. Lots of people love that stuff that for me kills any immersion I can scrape lower down.

@@julianmorrisco yeah, i dont plan to play super top tier, i just kind of want to unlock some kinda cool semi modern stuff. But grinding is just difficult sometimes which is sometimes deterring. For example, i have Japan, Russia, And germany in the tier 3 range, its fun, but when i tried doing america, its been a total slog due to them not having aphe by default. Also the game feels disheartening when it rewards players who pay money on premiums and such. But the game is fun and i cant stay mad.

a good lineup has - a mobile medium tank, that can relocate on the battlefield where its needed, and has a decent gun. - a decent backup medium tank - preferably a heavy tank for downtiers - a decent AA gun (when it can penetrate tanks from front or side its worth more) - a tank destroyer as backup for when things go bad. often a tank destroyer has a better gun for its BR, so you can bring it in uptiers for high persusasion power. i absolutely prefere turretet TD with some roof armor. having no roof might kill you fast, and having no turret it a heavy disadvantage where it matters (at capturing/defending points). TD with fixed gun and low mobility sucks especially hard. - a fighter plane with either good energy retention or good climbrate. its preferable if it has a gun that can penetrate tanks top down, and/or has some bombs - an attacker or bomber with some decent sized bombs. i personally prefere attackers that also can act as fighters, like in the navy fighter line the american corsair, or in the attacker line the american AM1 or AD. cause almost always your biggest threat in the air ar other air targets

Something I feel is worth mentioning that doesn’t get mentioned often at least not directly is the importance of being a well rounded player. For example, if you only know how to play light/medium tanks, take out a heavy or an spaa and learn how they play best. Even if you don’t like it in the same way you like your light tanks it will teach you the strengths and weaknesses of those other vehicles and allow you to more effectively counter them.

Truly the grind isnt bad it took me 300 hours f2p to get the full german tree 6 months ago now probably closer to 350 if you go for every folded vehicle but for one of the biggest trees its not bad

300+ hours for anyone who has a semi active life for one nation out of multiple is pretty insane. This doesn't even account for skill levels different people will have so you might do it in 300 someone might do it in 500. You miss out on so much content because it's so heavily time gated. Let's just say each nation takes 300 hours based on skill differences that's 3000 hours just for the tanks. This doesn't even include planes, helicopters and if you somehow enjoy it Navy. If you're only interested in one nation you could argue it's a mediocre grind. But if you play war thunder because you love multiple nations tanks and aircraft then you're out of luck unless you commit all your free time only to war thunder.

@@kjh4096 so yes it isnt going to be exactly 350 hrs most of my vehicles have close to a 2kd so yes skill difference is a huge part of the grind. but for the time of the grind if people bring in cas you can get both air and ground done at the same time and im assuming that your talking about event vehicles with the time gate (correct me if im wrong) and yes i can get behind the crafting events being bs with the time spent just to get one of the 3 ticket vehicles

As a player for over 8 years, the 8.0-8.7 Japan lineup is quite the rival to the 8.7 Germany lineup with the Type 74 and STB-1 being amazing MBT’s and their support vehicles are fantastic, including their IFV, the type 89 (I think that’s what it’s called) and their SPAA, the Type 87.

ive played wt since 2013, it originally had 7 tiers. gaijin updated wt at the time. they deleted anything players had above rank 5 refunding lions, eagles and locked xp. they gave me 6mil locked xp as comp. i used xp down to 3mil and grinded out more so im back at 6mil locked xp. with planes and tanks, i always used one slot for a new unlocked vehicle. matches were crazy hard and i didnt understand why. then one day, grouped with a buddy, he asked about my line up and i told him what i had. he said dude, no wonder you have issues, lol. you need to run a lineup with the closest possible matching br. not all spread out. that's why you get wrecked, br 5 to br8, that's nuts. get the br spread even then you'll get decent matches. i didnt know that for years, not until 2015 i think. note to new players. kills dont matter if youre in a cap point match. cap the points to advance for a win.

It feels like this went off topic into a, why Germany 8.7 is the best lineup to get a nuke. You didn't mention about aircraft to bring in by only relying on the nuke. What makes a lineup good is have 2-3 tanks that with at least 2 aircraft capable of CAS. CAS is a strong factor in a line up and can certainly tilt the game into your favor and maybe having a dedicated fighter to defend from CAS to help your team who may not have strong CAS but strong ground vehicles, example. USA has strong CAS but Germany and Russia have stronger ground, so a strong fighter can save themselves against USA CAS. Its also important to have variety in the line up and not just 5 heavy tanks, 1 heavy 1 medium 1 light or TD, SPAA is not required if you can get 2kills you're better of spawning a fighter patrolling the air rather than sitting on the ground trying to shoot aircraft down.

See EVERY game is a FULL uptier so the best lineup is top tier since you can't get uptiered anymore. *YET*, also some lower br brackets can have a down tier but you need luck and unluckiness can go on for days at a time

You can think of it as luck, but some battle ratings will be more prone to uptiers/downtiers just because of how many people are playing that battle rating. Example: US 10.7 gets full downtiers to 9.7-10.7 matches pretty often because so many people have premium 9.7 vehicles and most nations have solid 9.7 lineups. IMO saying top tier is best because no uptier doesn't make it better for me. Top tier is still kinda lame and the tanks all feel very similar in capabilities with a few minor differences. 8.7 is so good because there's much more advantage to be had over enemy tanks. TAM 2IP vs something like a T-55 or an M60 is much more uneven than Leo 2's vs Abrams. "Also I tend to find I get downtiers every game after buying premium. Please buy premium and spend moeny on game. Snail queues me with paid actors when I give money." lol
