You answered all my curiosities and I’m only a minute and thirty seconds into your video. I was scouring the internet for the past 1.5 hours wondering what level developer it was so thank you so much!

Yeah I remember reading somewhere that it was 7 vol. Wella's demi processing solution is 6 vol. What's funny is how it has For Professional use only on the bottle yet the peroxide available at any drugstore or supermarket is stronger than it, similar to how many pro colors use lower ammonia than most box dyes lol

I think you’ll have fun with shades. Been using it for 12 years. I like to double tone with it when I lighten. Great as an intro to color for people that don’t want to commit to color or deal with a line of demarcation. The shades bonder inside is awesome too. I just can’t use any Redken reds from allergies.

I think you can get a rich result with shades alone. As long as you fill and then deposit with a with your second, final formula

Love this short thanks for sharing. I tested the pH level of this oxidant and found it was around a pH4. So highly acid, it also reduced the alkalinity of the gel when I tested them mixed together. Can you explain how that could be? ❣️

Absolutely! I will definitely make a video response for this soon because it's even more complicated than it seems...

Does this mean that you could technically use the processing solution with the cream shades eq? Redken advises to use 10 vol in their video describing the differences between the gloss and cream- just confused now though!

What happens if I just get a generic 10 developer? I can't hold of this this product where I live.

Most likely it will work just fine. Sometimes you might experience some warm undertones, like on very fine hair. If you think this might be a concern you can mix 3:1 10 vol:water. Like 30ml 10vol and 10ml water. This will make 7.5vol

I know this is an older video, so you may not see this, or may not have the answer. Can I mix the processing solution with a cream developer? I'm a newbie working on my own hair 😅
@CosmoDad Жыл бұрын
Hello! Thanks for watching! I guess I don't understand the question. The processing solution is the developer. Do you mean mixing Shades EQ with cream developer instead of processing solution? Or if you are wanting to mix the 2 peroxides, what are you wanting to accomplish?
@manaash4316 Жыл бұрын
@@CosmoDad sorry for my poorly worded question. Specifically the Shades EQ with a cream developer.
@CosmoDad Жыл бұрын
You can but you may want to dilute it a bit to make it the same volume as the shades EQ developer. About a 1/4 oz water per oz of 10 volume 🙂

Can I use any developer with the toner
@CosmoDad2 жыл бұрын
In general most brands are interchangeable with a few exceptions. However it is the volume that is not interchangeable. Typically toners are Demi Permanent colors and use approximately 7-10 volume in order to prevent lightening of the hair which could cause unwanted warmth or porosity. So any brand- mostly yes, any volume- mostly no

Hi, I got a 10 developer, redken shades EQ in tahatian sand and the stylist gave me the redken processing solution too but didn't say if I can mix the toner and processing solution with a 10 developer or not. Can I mix all 3 or should I only use the processioning solution with the toner and not the 10 developer?
@CosmoDad2 жыл бұрын
Really no need for the 10. It would work but the lower volume in the processing solution is optimal. No need to mix the 10 with the processing solution either. It would still work but you'll get the least warmth with the processing solution in the toner alone
