What about the imaging, does it send sound out wide or is it deep and narrow or concentrated? I would like to know more... I have heard a lot of interesting horns that sounded very natural/LIVE/authentic, but which was not very accurate/deep concentrated in sound and which was a zoo of sounds being thrown all over the place. That is why I am asking. I love the idea of basically a filterless design and only 1 driver in 1 enclose, that is very brilliant.

All normal horns suffer from narrow dispersion problems. Our horns employ specially designed phase plugs on our drivers to overcome this limitation

Will Sw1x be at the next Munchen show in 2025, and will they be there with their amps/DACS/source/this speaker? Because I want to hear all of this in person together with my friend.

Most likely. However, our Acoustics is likely not. You are welcome to pays us a visit should you be in the London area.

Correct!! But there are always exceptions some box designs can be fixed
@sw1xaudiodesign2 күн бұрын
Unfortunately there are no exceptions- the loss of energy at LF cannot be fixed in boxes or any ported enclosed cabinets. The energy amplified inside a bass horn but it is dissipated inside the box! Once it is gone, it is gone forever. Therefore, the percussion coming from boxes tends to sound lame and lack the realism

I can't wait to hear the Pearls and possibly add to my collection that being said a bipolar design could? restore lost Energy or at least it has in the past. Just project Bipolar into the sound plane Phase and Coherence can be corrected naturally

All good points, but Audio Note are phase coherent and also use room corner loading of its small woofer. I made a video about their loudspeaker idea. Is your driver as good as Voxativ?
@sw1xaudiodesign2 күн бұрын
Cabinet based speakers (without acoustic loading) do not offer authentic/realistic bass presentation, not even even close to the same class with our Bass Horns. 2 x drivers, even if they are phase alligned are still not and cannot physically be 100% in phase with each other (relative phase coherance) because of the X-over, that introduces phase shifts and degrades everything. The best way to understand what we do is to audition our Acoustic Designs- this experience may change your world view for good

Funny thing, a horn has the highest phase shift of all. The horn output is a full cycle behind (360 degrees). I love horns and i am sure this speaker can sound great.....but the argument of phase isn't great. I agree modern speakers went in a totally wrong direction. Any speaker under 90db sensitivity sucks and has no dynamics. Horn bass is great, as can be open baffle bass. But this requires multiple large high efficiency woofers.

thank you for your comment. All acoustics have phase shifts- that especilaly applies to ported cabinets. The bass port is always out of phase. Absolute phase coherance is virtually impossible- it is all about about relative phase coherance, which is physically impossible when multiple drivers are employed. For that reason our desigs employ a single full range driver, the 2 way firing is still correctly phase alligned

If only there weren't instruments using horns for thousands of years, you would be right about the gramophone being the first, exept for music boxes and ...😂 I do like the looks of that
