The intro to this video literally took me back to my childhood. I started out in audio by making my own boxes out of cardboard. Me and my friend would take glue and layer the cardboard until it was actually pretty dense and thick. Running six by nines we would see how much base we could get out of different dimensions and angles. We knew absolutely nothing but we were on to something. When we found out you could mold cardboard by getting it wet that was a whole new world. I now 100% enjoy the audio industry and your videos are some of the best around. That said, pretty sure id take the MB G class over the bronco or ST.. But I would probably take a trackhawk or a hellcat durango over the merc, though. The status symbol and build quality are higher, almost definitely, but the g63 amg is down 123hp minimum from the jeep, and it costs like 100k more for the merc. Just keep that RC car away from Whistlin Diesel. Edit- i bet these would be good on a diy bt soeaker. Have them take the mid bass into like, the scratching the tippy top of what a regular sub hits

Thanks for sharing, seen this on big jeff the other day and was curious how it actually did. If you could set it up right I would make an awesome conversation piece for the dash of your vehicle 😂

Been waiting a long time for a product like this. I’m going to get 4 and build a custom box for the back of my rc car. It’s an army 8x8 made with clodbuster parts, and I’m going to use the speakers to make the engine sound. An 8 wheel drive monster truck with solid axles, and independent battery and driver for its 40w rms sound system. Not a bad way to spend $1,000

This type of woofer would be great for a desktop soundbar for the office. Deliver higher quality sound with a minimal footprint.

Great idea for other small models Like O gauge trains, but they still might be to deep for that. I have replaced two original model train speakers due to the cone coming off the voice coil, so something more durable would be a plus. One thing I noticed wrong with these, unless I was seeing it wrong. These you have here, have bit a of a noise problem due to the wires going to the voice coil. They appear to not be your normal soft flexible wires, but they look like normal wires and they will touch or rub and make noise.

I completely believe it. If you look at the first generation panorama 1 and 2 soundbars from Bowers & Wilkins, they used dual 3 and 1/2-in woofers and produced bass that sounded like it was coming from a high quality dedicated subwoofer. That's not hyperbole either, in the right room you would get a legitimate 30Hz. In a blind test almost anyone would think they were listening to a decent dedicated sub. Same deal with the Ambeo soundbar which also plays down to 30 hz legitimately. Of course you are paying $3,000 for a premium soundbar capable of something like this. Point being, small woofers can produce tremendous bass output.

That's super cool! Though for tiny speaker projects i think Tang Band W3's are a better option.

I find the built quality worth the price. Does anyone really need them, no, but they have the biggest cool factor in a long time. They‘re built like the real thing, like any subwoofer should be constructed like.

That is tiny (and amazing)! As an aside though, it is possible to get surprising bass out of a small package if you know how. I have a Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 Bluetooth speaker that's 4 by 4 by 1.5 inches and is shaped like a cushion. It cost me about $60 off Amazon and has an *unreal* amount of power for its size; I've seen one with the top taken off and it has bass resonators and everything. Oh, and it's waterproof and can be used as a powerbank too.

something you should try in that size range are the dayton audio exciters, it's for a stealth build cause they don't look like speakers, but they're way cheaper, like 5-10 bucks, an you'll get great audio even out of the 1 inch ones, they also have tiny 1x1/2x1/4 inch and 10.8 cm (between half and 3/8th in) in 1W and 0.5W respectively if you want to add audio to a hotwheels minivan. (you can get a tiny 1W amplifier, and a battery powered bluetooth receiver that would most likely fit in for like 5 bucks.)

Finally! Those former great amp brands have a purpose. They might struggle hitting that 10W RMS but having a Precision Power amp would look great.

I made a cardboard box for a single 6x9 I had for a garage speaker 😂 it actually was decent for the garage just for some tunes 😂
@afrog266620 күн бұрын
I made one with two 2.5" from an LG surround system and a 2x25W amp, a small RC charger, external 3S LiPo and a translucent switch all mounted in a cardboard box about the size of a shoebox, mounted the components with hot glue, taped the box,turned it up and I got noise complaints 😂 Apartment life for ya 😋 I haven`t had time to actually make a proper box yet, but at least it was a good proof of concept for the components, the next one will be wood with the addition of a passive radiator (:

@joshfraley945120 күн бұрын
The thing that comes to mind first when I see these is a GOOD portable bluetooth "speaker"! I've never torn down a BT speaker, but I wouldn't imagine that they'd use anything of this quality... I definitely don't have the expertise in that department, but it would be damn cool!
